This study was focused on exploring the management of Arabic learning at Islamic boarding schools that have different characters, namely Usuluddin, al-Hikmah, and Nurul Huda Islamic Islamic boarding schools in terms of planning, implementing, and evaluating the learning. This research was descriptive qualitative research where the researchers acted as the main instrument of the research. the data was also obtained from other sources, namely the religious teachers, students, scholars, and documents. The data was collected through data collecting techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that there were differences emphasis on the Arabic learning management objectives in the three Islamic boarding schools. The Usuluddin Islamic boarding school emphasized listening and speaking skills where various programs were facilitated to enable the students to speak fluently and listen to routine speeches, Arabic debates, muhawarah, and yaumu al-lugah. At the Al-Hikmah and Nurul Huda Islamic boarding schools, the Arabic learning management emphasized the reading and writing skills as well as translating turas books. It is recommended for the Arabic learning management to focus on four aspects of language proficiency so that the students can be proficient in the comprehensive language (active and passive).

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the contribution of the pesantren curriculum in improving the quality of students' reading and writing skills at the Mardhatillah al-Mumtazah and Daar el-Ulum Saketi Pandeglang Islamic Boarding School. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research, and through educational and sociological approaches. The research location was conducted in two Islamic boarding schools, namely Mardhatillah al-Mumtazah and Daar el-Ulum, Saketi district. Results and discussion, namely the curriculum design of the Mardhatillah al-Mumtazah Islamic Boarding School in improving the ability to read al-Qurán is by applying the Tahsin model and adjusting it to the objectives expected by the boarding school to improve reading and writing skills. Meanwhile, the pesantren curriculum model in improving writing skills is the Imla 'model with the imla method of copying and listening to readings. The Daar el-Ulum pesantren curriculum model in improving reading skills is the Tahsin model. Meanwhile, the Daar el-Ulum Islamic boarding school curriculum model in improving writing skills is the Imla 'model, with the imla writing method moving, copying and listening to readings or sentences from a media. In this case there is a slight difference in the method and subject matter. As for the implementation of the pesantren curriculum in improving the ability to read and write al-Qurán at the Mardhatillah al-Mumtazah Islamic Boarding School, namely privately or individually, classically and in groups. By using predetermined teaching methods and predetermined material and evaluation. Whereas in the Daar el-Ulum Islamic Boarding School the implementation is the same as the Mardhatillah al-Mumtzah Islamic boarding school individually or privately, classical or in groups, with the teaching method that has been adjusted.

The problem and the aim of the study: The demand for human resources with language skills in the globalization era is very high. This is because many companies require active and passive language skills as the main criteria for workforce recruitment. In Indonesia, Arabic teaching institutions are categorized into two forms, namely those that teach with communication skills orientation (ma'had) and those with an orientation to understand the concept as an Islamic knowledge source (Islamic boarding schools). This difference causes varied output skills of each institution. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze which output is more relevant to the skills needed in this globalization era. Methods: This study was designed with a quantitative approach. The data source was ma'had and Islamic boarding school graduates who continued their studies at the Islamic Faculty of West Sumatra, Muhammadiyah University with a total of 43 students. Furthermore, data were obtained through tests that included four language skills, and then analyzed using ME as well as T test. Results: It was found that ma'had and Islamic boarding school graduates have advantage in language skill. This is based on data which showed that they have advantage in speaking, but weak in reading and writing. Meanwhile, the Islamic boarding school graduates have advantage in reading and writing, but the listening skills of graduates from both institutions are balanced. Conclusion: Language skills in listening and communication aspects are essential as interpreters, tour guides, consultants and other opportunities. Meanwhile, human resources with writing skills are needed in the field of manuscript translation and text analysis. Therefore, both graduates have the same opportunity in the globalization era but with different contents.

This study has examined the effectiveness of using WhatsApp, as one of mobile-assisted language learning applications, in enhancing learners’ reading and writing skills in English. Twenty EFL undergraduate students of Aden University participated in a WhatsApp English medium group with the researcher where they and the researcher chat, share news articles and comment on news articles for two months. During this period, the researcher was observing their progress and then, they were given a questionnaire to report their experience about the effectiveness of WhatsApp in developing their reading and writing skills. Findings from students’ pre-test and post-test, researcher’s observations of students’ progress and students’ responses to the questionnaire revealed that WhatsApp was very effective in developing their reading and writing skills. It helped them a lot in developing their vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension and writing skills. The study concluded that WhatsApp English medium groups provide space for practising natural language, especially in written communication, keep students learn and practice English outside the classroom and motivate them to learn from each other. As per the findings, the study has recommended EFL teachers to use WhatsApp in their teaching of English and to motivate their students to create and join WhatsApp English medium groups as that will help them in developing students’ language proficiency through natural interaction and contextualized language use that can’t be provided by the classroom.

Reading and writing skills is coverage of more complex language skills of listening and speaking skills. We need the best approach in developing the literacy skills of children with hearing impairment. In some studies that focus on accuracy syntax hearing impaired children, it was found that they tend to use many of the same phrases over and over again in simple sentences, a little more complex sentences, and make lots of small mistakes in the use of sentence structure, word number, the use of pronouns and said pointer, and so on. This paper discusses several options approach in teaching reading and writing skills of deaf children, namely (1) conversations from heart to heart (perdati), (2) read ideovisual (percami), (3) read receptive, (4) the exercise of reflective, and (5) conversation or conversations linguistic grammar or also called reflective conversation grammar.

The lack of mastery of Malay proficiency at National Type Schools (SJK) has caused deterioration of academic achievement in recent years. This study was conducted to determine the relationship of proficiency in all four skills of Malay language proficiency with students’ academic achievement among non-native speakers at National Type Schools (SJK). A total of 414 samples from 5 SJK schools were selected for study. The two instruments used to obtain data are the UPBM_SR Proficiency Test and UPBM_SR Score Level. Data were processed using IBMSPSS Version 23 with a cross-sectional survey design. The results show that the scores for the four Proficiency Tests conducted are moderate, and writing skills are at a low level. Results for the overall level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills showed that the majority of students obtained Level 5 (almost proficient), which is 29% (120 students). No students received Level 1 or Level 8. This clearly shows that there is a great relationship between Malay language proficiency and academic achievement. Only students who are possess good listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in a second language are able to improve their academic performance. The diligent efforts of all parties are needed to create a generation competent in the Malay language.

This research focuses how to teach muhadatsah in the Arabic language section using the Arabiah Baina Yadaik, What are the results of teaching conversation in the Arabic language section using the Arabiah Baina Yadaik? As for the objectives of the research To describe the results of conversation teaching in the Arabic language section using the Arabiah Baina Yadaik? This research is of the qualitative research type in the case study and data is obtained by means of the interview, observation and documents. The researcher chose a data analysis method is a Miles and Huberman analysis, which says about data classification, data presentation, and data summary / conclusion. As for the search results Are learning muhadatsah in the first stage, Department of Teaching Arabic Language, Islamic State University of Bengkulu with listening and speaking skills, then reading and writing skills. As for listening and speaking, the teacher provides dialogue and vocabulary. As for reading and writing skills, the teacher provides grammatical or morphological rules and understanding dialogue. This research was conducted at level 1 Arabic language study program totaling 3 classes. Each class consists of 19 students. Final results muhadatsah scores are taken from the value of the assignment, midterm and final semester exams. For A class, the Muhadatsah score of the " Very Good " category, 5 students were presented to be 26%, and the "good" category, 10 students were presented to be 53% and the "enough" category, 4 people were presented to 21%. Then in B class, the grade of muhadatsah in the category of "Very Good" there were 11 students who were presented to be 58%, the category of "Good" there were 4 people who were presented to be 21% and in the category of "good enough" there were 4 people who were presented to be 21%. And C class, the grade Muhadatsah score of the "Very Good" category there were 6 students presented to 32%, the category of "Good" there were 9 people were presented to be 47% and the category of "Enough" there were 4 people were presented to be 21%.

This study aims at finding out how far the English Package C curriculum meets the Package C learnerS needs Of English to pass the national examination (UN) and identify whether the learners* needs in learning listening, speaking, reading, and writing, skills are acommodated by he curriculum. The subjects Of the Study were 27 learners of Package C Program, consisting of 7 Terampil learners and 20 Mahir learners at the Community Learning Center (PKBM) 33 Malaka, East Jakarta. Questionnaires and interviews were conducted to get the data. The study revealed that the curriculum contents, though not complete, could accommodate most of the Package C learners' needs to learn reading, writing, listening and speaking skills although the tutor did not teach all the four skills. It was also found that the learners had some expectations: they needed more time to practice the four language skills in class, and sufficient teaching aids to SUDDort the Jearning-teaching process so that the learning would be more efficient.

Abstract This community services in the term of developing writing skills for Santri were conducted at two Islamic Boarding Schools: Al-Itqon and Tholaba Barokatil Qur?óÔé¼Ôäóan in Semarang city. The aim of this community services is developing thinking skills and writing skills for the Islamic boarding school community. The activities is in cooperation with the head of the Islamic Boarding School, taken place for nine months, in the form of on training, guidance, mentoring, and competition. The products are published on Bunga Rampai books with the approval numbers (ISBN 978-602-8047-07-9). The target of the program is increasing the Santri?óÔé¼Ôäós creativity on thinking and writing. The existence of Islamic education e.g. Islamic boarding schools has contributed in in the middle of social lives in Indonesia. Continuously, Islamic boarding schools have developed in accordance with social demand nowadays. Besides, Islamic boarding school education should make adaptation by doing many changes especially in the field of learning management through curriculum integration of Salafiyah and Kholafiyah in order to build Islamic boarding school as central for excellent. Therefore, as an effort to achieve intended goal, observation and interview were conducted to obtain the data regarding with description of learning management especially concerning with Salafiyah and Kholafiyah curriculums at Nabil Husein Islamic boarding school Samarinda. The findings indicate that the value of Islamic boarding school is assumed as a core value of curriculum development as shifting paradigm through Islamic boarding school learning management. That paradigm has correlation with institutional goals of Nabil Husein i.e. as Islamic education main controller with religious and moral values oriented. In addition, graduates of Nabil Husein are expected to master two types of knowledge fields i.e. general and Islamic knowledges with spiritual values, so that Islamic boarding school education graduates are able to integrate among social, emotion, and intelligence quotients. Further implication is also noticed and suggested in this research.
