An issue of Sustainable Environmental Development has occupied a wide range of interests of researchers and economists in some developing countries. The environmental issues are tightly linked to the development policies and the environmental grasp is no longer a matter of social welfare, but rather is a matter of economical; social and human dimensions. The research displays a concept of sustainable development, then estimating the impact of two variables: the economic development and the bio-ecological system on the sustainable development of some countries, including Iraq according to the fact that “increasing demand for foods and products in these countries has led them towards the intensive usage of natural resources which has, eventually, impairs the rates of development and contributes in the deterioration of bio-ecological system and impairs the sustainable development. The results of the analysis showed that the environmental ecosystem variable has a greater impact on sustainable environmental development than the economic development variable, which means that the environmental situation of some countries, especially the developing countries, continue to deteriorate, requiring all specialists and governments to make efforts to preserve the ecosystem for future generations.

Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM) have achieved a certain level of cost-effective emission reductions in developing countries. In this context the uneven distribution of CDM projects in certain regions as well as the concentration of CDM projects amongst certain sectors in developing countries have resulted in the issue of whether CDM projects contribute to sustainable development in developing countries. This article examines the impact of CDM projects on sustainable development in South Africa by examining a sample of working CDM projects there and evaluating their impact on environmental, economic and social sustainable development. Based on observations during the study, CDM policy changes are reviewed, and options to enhance the sustainable development implications of CDM projects are explained.

The transport infrastructure can be defined as a factor that guarantees the growth and economic development of the region, due to the functions of traversing space in terms of the movement of people and the exchange of goods. The effects of the impact of transport infrastructure on the economy of the region largely depend on how the society uses the services offered by infrastructure facilities and devices. The study examines the impact of transport infrastructure on the sustainable socio-economic development of the Wałcz Lake District. To conduct the analysis, a questionnaire addressed to entrepreneurs from this region was used. In the second part of the research, the indicators of sustainable development at the regional level were applied: the level of transport infrastructure and the level of socio-economic development of the studied area. The study is an attempt to fill the cognitive gap for areas outside the country’s main transport corridors. The existing differentiation in both the development of infrastructure and the economic attractiveness of urban and rural areas was shown. Factors influencing the effectiveness of implementing the concept of sustainable rural development were indicated.

The current stage of economic development is characterized by the manifestation of «mega-regionalism» and «inter-regionalism», which shifts the emphasis in the direction of a balanced interaction between the participants who integrate their capacities in the interests of their own sustainable development. Megaregions represent the «locomotives» of the economic development of their countries. The potential for the development of the «megaregion» system represents its ability, which is determined by a wide range of factors. The expected effect of its use is sustainable development achieved by effective management solutions. Integration and balanced interaction is especially important for the sustainable development of megaregional economy. The author suggests integrating all elements of the system in terms of ensuring a synergistic effect, taking into account the interests of geographically localized spaces within the region, industrial complexes and economic entities. The current research defines the factors that shape the potential for sustainable development of a megaregion in terms of the «globalism – regionalism – the national economy – local education» interaction.

The urban development covers the consensus of a wide range of activities and is aimed at equivalent coordination of the impact of economic, social and environmental factors on planning. Due to different attitudes and interests planners and scientists find it rather complicated to come to a common and widely acceptable attitude towards urban development patterns through harmonization of forms and development principles. The paper includes the theoretical attitudes, related to future insights, into the urban development conceptions. Moreover, assessing the impact of the economic paradigms on urban visions, the paper analyses the influence of development concepts on the qualities of development forms as well as on the creation of future urban alternative visions, compatibility with the principles of sustainable development and proper quality of life. The price of real estate is addressed as one of the key social indicators and the ones that reflect the quality of life. The theoretical provisions, with the help of expert evaluation, are verified taking the districts of Vilnius as an example and considering qualities and forms, population, jobs, area, noise level and pollution of individual districts on the basis of different components. Conceptual modelling principles are applied to determine critical values of the indicators that characterize the sustainable development. Based on them, a system is created that helps to define features of individual urban districts, potential development alternatives and achievable allowed marginal values of the quality of life.

In this regard, it is necessary to summarize the real experience and identify the best practices of Russian TNCs, positioning themselves as socially responsible companies. Methods: this article is based on the modern concept of corporate social responsibility – its understanding from the standpoint of the market approach to socially responsible behavior, state regulation of socially responsible practices, corporate conscience as a criterion of moral responsibility of the agent of economic relations, the theory of stakeholders, considering the Corporation as part of the social structure of society and responsible to a wide range of stakeholders. The study was conducted using the methods of comparative analysis, inductive-deductive and General logical methods. Results: the analysis of the impact of corporate social responsibility of transnational corporations on the sustainable development of the territories of its presence. The importance of the return of moral criteria in the economic sphere, which form the basis for assessing the level of socially responsible business behavior, is revealed. The article substantiates the increasing role of TNCs in the sustainable development of the global economy against the backdrop of a shortage of foreign direct investment needed to achieve sustainable development goals. The necessity of dialogue between TNCs and the national governments of the territory of their presence on a wide range of issues of support for the national economy, social investment in local communities and solving environmental problems is shown. The best practices of Russian TNCs in the field of corporate social responsibility are reviewed. The recommendations on the integration of domestic business in the implementation of social projects abroad. Conclusions and Relevance: one of the trends of sustainable development of the global economy is the recognition by economic agents of the importance and prospects of cooperation with ethically-oriented business, the imperative of which is corporate social responsibility. Investment by foreign affiliates of TNCs in the basic infrastructure, production capacity, social and environmental sphere of the territory of their presence should be considered from the perspective of corporate social responsibility. The content and volume of financing of corporate social responsibility programs by foreign affiliates of TNCs is largely determined by the specifics of the business. The implementation of corporate social responsibility, which has become part of the systematic approach of Russian business and is implemented within the framework of a common business strategy in foreign countries, is becoming an undeniable competitive advantage of Russian TNCs over foreign partners.
