Indonesia’s education sector has also been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The learning process has changed from conventional to online learning. Many students find it challenging to capture and understand their knowledge because they are accustomed to the learning process through face-to-face interactions with teachers. Teachers need to create a teaching system that is more efficient than just completing the curriculum. Regarding this problem, Zenius, as an educational application from Indonesia, issued the “Zenius Untuk Guru” platform, which helps teachers create learning systems. The product launch attracted influential online media in Indonesia, Liputan6.com and Republika.co.id. The interesting point about the launch platform is that these two online media display the related news with different framing. This research using Entman’s framing theory to describe how the two media perceive the platform. The results show that Liputan6. com frames Zenius commercially, while Republika.co.id communicates Zenius as a problem solver to improve teacher literacy in less technologically literate areas. Zenius also helps Indonesia in equalizing education to remote areas of Indonesia.

Self-directed learning is an important skill highlighted in the 21st century learning. Hence, developing this skill through problem-based learning (PBL) is deemed to be potentially effective. However, PBL is still not widely implemented in Malaysian classrooms. The integration of face-to-face and online learning known as blended problem-based learning (BPBL) is potentially effective in improving PBL by enhancing teacher’s and students’ roles in self-directed learning. Thus, this research aims to investigate the roles of teacher and students in the process of self-directed learning (formulating learning issues) in BPBL by using basic qualitative approach. Data was collected from observations, interviews and documents (FILA chart). By using purposive sampling, twenty-five (25) students and a teacher from a school in Johor district were selected as the sample. The students were divided into five groups. The teacher and students’ roles in two randomly selected groups were compared. The results indicated that the teacher faced difficulties in monitoring students’ progress and some students were passive in the BPBL.

Due to outbreak of the Covid 19, the implementation of education and learning has extremely changed. Face to face meetings as a conventional learning is no longer conducted, in contrast, online learning is more often employed. Thus, a solution to this problem is required to respond to this problem. Online learning is an alternative that can overcome this problem. The purpose of this research is to get a reflection of the implementation of online education by using online media to reduce the outbreak of Covid-19 in universities. The research subjects were PGMI students who were interviewed through Zoom Cloud Meeting to collect the data. The data analysis employed was an interactive analysis method Miles & Huberman. The results of the research showed that: (1) the students had already had the basic facilities needed to explore online education; (2) the online education was flexibly being implemented, encouraging learning independently, motivating to learn more actively; and (3) long distance education urges the students to get used to social distancing attitude and minimizes crowds to reduce the outbreak of Covid-19 in institutions tertiary. The lack of supervision of students, lack of internet signals in remote areas, and high quota payments were challenges in online education. The increasing of independent learning, attention, motivation, and the courage to express ideas and problems was another advantage of online education.

education in the current Covid-19 pandemic era must be shifted from face-to-face learning systems to distance learning. This online learning requires suitable and appropriate media without reducing the quality of learning. The purpose of this research is the use of WhatsApp Group as a learning medium in universities during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is quantitative research methods. The instrument in this quantitative research is a research questionnaire. To find out the number of research results, it is known by knowing the percentage. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on education, namely the existence of Covid-19, has changed the education system in Indonesia from various levels. Online learning was carried out after the ban on face-to-face learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Online learning is carried out by utilizing online media that is relevant to needs. WhatsApp Group as a learning media in Higher Education, which is an online media commonly used in the communication process during a pandemic, was chosen to be used as a medium to support the distance learning system. WhatsApp Group apart from having powerful features, is also easy to reach and cheap in terms of data packages used for distance learning. WhatsApp Group media is a recommendation in the implementation of online learning today. The conclusion is that in the current pandemic era, online distance learning systems must use appropriate and comfortable online media without reducing their quality. WhatsApp is an online learning solution during the pandemic.

Virtual learning and education have become crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced a rethink by teachers and educators into designing online content and the indirect interaction with students. In an face-to-face class, some visual cues help the teacher recognize the engagement level of students, while the main weakness of the online approach is the lack of feedback that the teacher has about the learning process of the students. In this paper, we introduce a novel framework able to track the learning states, or LS, of the students while they are watching a piece of knowledge-based content. Specifically, we extract four learning states: Interested, Bored, Confused or Distracted. Finally, to demonstrate the system’s capability, we collected a reduced database to analyze the affective state of the subjects. From these preliminary results, we observe abrupt changes in the LS of the audience when there are abrupt changes in the narrative of the video, indicating that well-structured and bounded information is strongly related with the learning behaviour of the students.

The COVID-19 pandemic that has recently hit various countries including Indonesia has resulted in major changes in various fields, including in the development of the education sector. The teaching and learning process has turned from face-to-face into an online method. However, there are several obstacles experienced by schools that implement an online learning system, one of them was the ability of teachers who do not understand various learning application platforms. In addition, the material provided by the teacher is not maximally acceptable to students because most teachers provide learning material from the pages of textbooks or teacher writings (scans, photos, or presentation files). For this reason, it is necessary to have variations in the provision of teaching materials to students by making interesting and creative learning videos using the Movavi Education Set. With learning videos, students can do lessons at home, repeat it, and can ask the teacher some points from it if they don't understand. By using Movavi Education Set, teachers are also free to be creative in making learning videos that can be shared through commonly used communication applications such as e-mail, WhatsApp, line, google classroom and other applications.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on all areas of life, including education. The education system, which was originally face-to-face, had to be replaced with online learning. Various problems arise related to the implementation of the Distance Learning or PJJ system. This system makes parents have to participate more in supervising as well as being a substitute for teachers at home in the learning process of their children. In addition, homeschooling also raises problems where students find it difficult to understand the material given by the teacher. The decrease in enthusiasm for learning becomes a problem when the PJJ system seems monotonous and boring. To support the government's program in breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19 without reducing the effectiveness of online learning implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture, this activity was carried out. This activity is expected to help reduce the anxiety of parents who are afraid that their children are not serious and have difficulty in learning. In addition, it is hoped that this activity will help participants to easily understand the material that has not been mastered. The methods of socialization, demonstration, and mentoring are carried out directly. The success of this activity can be seen from the assistance of the participants in solving the problems faced and the enthusiasm of the participants during the activity.

Translanguaging is a tool for bilingual or multilingual to learn more than one language.  In the field of linguistic, translanguaging is not something new. However, its implementation is still found rare in higher education. To fill this void, this study aims to investigate the implementation of translanguaging in classroom, especially in higher education. This research was intended to answer how helpful translanguaging practices in EFL Classroom is. By using qualitative method, the data were collected by recording two credits full face-to-face classroom interaction. One lecturer and her forty-five students voluntarily became the research participants.  The data were then analyzed by using thematic analysis. The findings showed that the practices were helpful in a way that the tutors could build an engaging dialogue for the students, enabling them to understand the complex learning materials. These findings then implied that in the teaching and learning process, EFL lecturers tend to be more attentive as they prefer to have their students understanding on complex subject to build English proficiency of their students’.
