The objectives of this research were to identify the significant difference between students food habits at different periods of sport activity, to identify gender differences in food habits and to identify sport performance in food habits and, sport performance among secondary school boys and girls. A descriptive survey method was adopted. The situation sampling method (non-randomized) was used to select 10 secondary schools and 100 students (N=100) including 50 girls and 50 boys who are aged between 17-19. Data were obtained by distribution questionnaires to the sample and the data were analyzed using a bi-nominal probability test and Pearson's chi-square test and descriptive method. The mixed results were revealed in this research (both significant difference and no significant difference) in food habits and sport performance. The bi-nominal probability test implies that in the pre exercise period, those who got good food habits shows high level of performance among girls than boys. However for the water intake no significant difference was recorded During the exercise period those who got good food habits instead of showing high level of performance among girls than boys. However no significant difference in other drinks habits. Regarding post exercise period significant difference was recorded with interruptions for food habits and protein intake. Pearson’s chi squire test, shows DF (12) P value = 0.839 twelve cells with expected counts less than 5.0. According to the chi test, no significant difference of sport performance with two habits were found in terms of gender and nature of game (indoor and outdoor). This study also reveals that the food habits of both boys and girls were quite traditional. 本文旨在探討斯里蘭卡中學生的飲食行為與運動表現,採用問卷形式共調查了一百位男女中學生,結果顯示他們的飲食行為與運動表現都較為傳統的。

School students need clear boundaries: boundaries that adults - parents as well as teachers - must set. We cannot abdicate our responsibility when students move outside those boundaries. To do that is to betray children, because the consequences of bad behaviour are so damaging It is the duty of the parents and teachers to create disciplinary awareness. The study aimed to examine the disciplinary awareness among secondary school students. The investigator adopted survey method to study the disciplinary awareness among school students. For this study a sample of 300 school students from 5 Govt and Private schools which are situated in and around Udumalpet town of Tirupur district in Tamil Nadu were selected by the investigator using simple random sampling technique. The findings reveal that 28.33% of the school students belong to low level of disciplinary awareness, 43.66% of school students the belong to moderate level of disciplinary awareness, 28% of  school students belong to high level of disciplinary awareness. Also it is found that there is a significant difference in attitude towards disciplinary awareness between male and female among school students. Females possess better disciplinary awareness than male students.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the flexible decision pathways adopted by development advisors in the management of uncertainty in property development. Specifically, the study examines the quantitative techniques adopted by development advisors, the level of adoption of real options analysis (ROA) vis-à-vis the level of adoption of heuristics. Finally, the types of options exercised in property development were analysed. This was with a view to providing information that could mitigate the challenges of risk and uncertainty and increasing investment failure associated with property development in Nigeria, an emerging market. Design/methodology/approach The study adopted a survey method and was conducted on development advisors in property development companies/estate surveying and valuation firms in Nigeria. A total of 195 development advisors participated in the survey. The respondents were required to rate, on a five-point Likert scale, the level of adoption of the quantitative models, heuristics and the types of flexibility exercised during development. The data were analysed using mean rating, one-sample t-test and analysis of variance. Findings The results revealed that there was a preference for the use of traditional techniques, while probabilistic appraisal models and other contemporary methods such as ROA are seldom adopted by development advisors. While there was a significantly high level of adoption of heuristics, the stratified analysis examining the profile of the respondents and the level of adoption of ROA and heuristics suggests that years of experience influenced the level of adoption of both the ROA and heuristics by the development advisors. The analysis of the types of flexibility showed that staging/phasing and changing the initial use/design were the most prevalent flexibility pathways adopted during the development. However, the study found that there was no significant difference concerning the choice of flexibility being adopted by development advisors who used ROA and those who did not. Practical implications The study provides an understanding of the decision pathways adopted by development advisors in an emerging market like Nigeria. Originality/value The paper contributes to studies on decision-making pathways in the management of uncertainty under dynamic conditions by development advisors in emerging markets.

Purpose This study aims to identify factors affecting generation Z as the early adopters of mobile commerce (m-commerce). The research seeks to explore their behavioral intention to adopt m-commerce in India with consideration of gender differences while providing empirical validation for the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Design/methodology/approach In this study, a modified TPB model has been used to explain generation Z’s intention to adopt m-commerce. The proposed model was tested using a survey method with a sample of 245 students from a private university in Northern India. Subgroup analysis was performed to find gender differences in the process of adopting m-commerce. Findings All three independent constructs have a positive influence on the behavioral intention of generation Z to adopt m-commerce. Further, the male subgroup has a lower beta value for attitude and higher beta value for subjective norm in comparison to the female subgroup. For perceived behavioral control, no significant difference in beta value across gender could be established. Practical implications A better understanding of generation Z behavioral intentions will be of great use to telecom companies, marketers and electronic commerce companies to formulate strategies to expedite the use of m-commerce. As gender plays an important role in attitude and subjective norms, companies are advised to target their communication tactics in accordance to gender. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is one of the first to test TPB and generation Z association in the context of m-commerce adoption in India. Data regarding the difference between the two genders has also shed light on the uniqueness of the context.

In the research paper author has studied the interest in mathematics subject of secondary level students. Author has selected the financed high school level students affiliated to U.P. Secondary school council Allahabad and used self constructed interest scale for measuring their interest in mathematics subject. Data collection has done on the 100 students sample by survey method in the study sex. Subject and habitat variations have classified. Statistical method for data analysis mean standard deviation and C.R-value has calculated. In was revealed that mathematical interest of science students was significantly higher than arts students but there was no significant difference of mathematical interest of male and female students as well as rural and urban students. Author felt the necessity to increase their interest in mathematics.

Mental health remains to be one of the most pressing concerns across the world, and teachers play an influential role in the lives and learning of students struggling with mental health. Unfortunately, teachers have expressed concerns of feeling overwhelmed and unprepared to handle the mental health needs of their students because of the lack of knowledge, skills, competence, and resources. This research was conducted to provide a systematic appraisal of the mental health literacy among secondary school teachers. Utilizing the Education-modified Mental Health Literacy Scale which was adapted by Kenney from the work of O’Connor, eighty-one (81) teachers from public and private secondary schools were surveyed in six domains, to include: disorder recognition scale, risk factor knowledge scale, self-treatment knowledge scale, available professional help scale, information seeking knowledge scale, and attitudes scale. It was found that overall, the participants manifested a high level of mental health literacy, and are most adept at the attitudes scale. Conversely, it was found that teachers need more knowledge and training in the risk-factor knowledge scale. No statistically significant difference was found in the mental health scale scores when compared between schools and grade level. The researcher recommends using the results of the current study as a springboard for crafting a professional development program that focuses on increasing the literacy of teachers about mental health.

The role of teacher is proficient, be composed of academic, didactic and social roles. Academic roles cover teaching, instructing and supervisory characters and pedagogical characters include instructional, valuation and simplifying roles. The study aimed to identify the teaching competency of secondary school teachers. The investigator adopted survey method to study the teaching competency between teachers from selected government, private and aided school. For this study a sample of 300 school teachers from eight various schools which are situated in Palakkad district selected by the investigator using simple random sampling technique. The findings revealed that there is no significant difference towards teaching competency among selected secondary school teachers with respect to personal variables like Gender, Marital Status, Educational Qualification, Type of Management and Teaching experience. The findings of the study help to discover the teaching competency of secondary school teachers in the society.

The main purpose of this study is to identify the level of patriotism application in secondary school history teachers in Sabah. This study is a survey study using a questionnaire for the purpose of collecting data. The sample of the study consists of history teachers involving a total of 367 respondents throughout Sabah. Study variables were tested using descriptive and inferential statistics involving t-tests. The findings of the study indicate that the patriotism application is at a high level. The results of the t-test showed that there was a significant difference in the mean score of the patriotism application between the respondents of history specialization and non-history specialization. These findings provide useful input, especially to the Ministry of Malaysia Education, the State Education Department, and the school administration to plan professional development programs.

Information seeking modes are changing rapidly due to advancements in portable devices such as smartphones. The functionality of smartphones is helping individuals to enhance their online learning experiences. The study was conducted to assess the readiness level among students towards the adoption of mobile learning at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. A survey method of research was used to collect data for this study. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed through convenience sampling among the enrolled students of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Of the 183 respondents, the majority of 118 (64.5%) were female. Overwhelming, 170 (92.9%) respondents' usage frequency was 'daily' for accessing information through mobile. Stages of change model indicated that most of the respondents were at the 'maintenance stage' indicating that they were regularly using mobile for learning. The main barriers to mobile learning included: 'mobile learning causes sore eyes', and 'mobile screen size makes it difficult to concentrate on contents. The study concluded that a high level of readiness exists among students towards adopting mobile learning as they are regularly using smartphones to access the information from online resources to fulfill the requirements of formal learning. A statistically significant difference was found in the readiness level as female students are more likely to adopt m-learning than male students. The study's findings are useful for librarians, faculty members, IT experts, and policymakers of the participating university in designing mobile-related services for students to enhance learning communications and collaborations.

The literary interest is to be measured and an inventory is prepared for that. In the present inventory students point out whether they like the activity, like it strongly, dislike or strongly dislike. To construct and standardize literary interest inventory for higher secondary school students. To investigate the significant difference in the literary interest of the students between the sub-groups on gender, area, stream, type of school, standard and components of interest inventory. 3119 higher secondary school students is population. Hence survey method was suitable for the present study. The steps of the construction of the inventory are as follows. Items having t- value more than 1.96 and r-value more than 0.20 were selected. Thus, out of the 100 items, 80 items were selected in the final form of the inventory. The reliability of the inventory was established via test-retest method and split-half method. For establishing criterion validity The Teacher Criterion scale that depict various literary activities that can be carried out in higher secondary schools. The null hypotheses were tested using t-test and f-test. Significant difference is observed in the literary interest of the students with reference to gender. Girls are more inclined towards the literary interest than the boys. Rural students show more interest in literature than the urban students. Students of arts stream show more interest in literature than the students of commerce students and students of science stream show more interest in literature than the students of both streams. Significant difference is students with reference to type of school. Students of grant-in-aid schools show more interest in literature than the students of non-grant-in aid schools.

Purpose – In the present century the need and importance of understanding the emotional intelligence of the learner has been grown among the educationists. This is especially true and more prevalent in professions that require the employees to be highly emotionally intelligent such as in the teaching profession. In this study Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement of secondary school students was probed to find the relationship between and among Emotional nature, School climate and outcomes of standard IX and X students. Methodology - In this study the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire, School Environment Scale (SES) is used. The investigator used stratified random sampling technique for selecting the sample. The study will adopt a Normative Survey Method. The variables studied are the Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement. Emotional Intelligence Scale developed and validated by the Balasubramanain and Shanty in 2005 is used for the study. Further School Environment questionnaire developed and validated by the Shanty Jose 2009 is used for the study. The academic achievement scores obtained by the student is used for analysing the learning outcome. Findings - Finding shows from the study shows that there is a high level of Emotional Intelligence, school environment and academic achievement of secondary school students. No significant differences found between and among Emotional Intelligence, School Environment and Academic Achievement with respect to the variables gender, class, type of institutions, locality and medium of instruction. There is a significant relationship exists between and among Emotional Intelligence, school environment and academic achievement and its sub variables. Significance - Emotion as the basis of all behaviours and activities and so is directly related to all human nature and achievements. Emotions are source of motivation, source of learning,source of strength and endurance to body. Emotional intelligence is being able to understand one's one behaviour and to use this to guide their action. Understanding the emotional intelligence of learner will help to analyse the academic performance of individual learner and to provide them useful support.
