During the payment of a single tuition fee (UKT) every semester, students are always faced with the problem of outstanding students but unable to pay tuition fees. Therefore, the university provides a solution to give zakat obtained from lecturers to outstanding and underprivileged students through the selection process. So far, the student selection process is still done manually, not using a system or program. So that the distribution of educational aid recipients (zakat) is considered not on target. This will certainly be a continuous problem of injustice, especially now that we have entered the digital era 4.0, all processes use a digital system. The provision of educational fund assistance in the form of zakat must be based on established rules, in this case the rules are in the form of established criteria, namely student IP, parental income, number of siblings, number of dependents of parents, semester, and others. The purpose of this study is to test whether the Promethee method is a method that can solve these problems. In addition, this research also forms a flow chart for selecting recipients of educational assistance using the Promethee method. The results of this study indicate that the problem of determining recipients of zakat assistance by students can be solved using the PROMETHEE method. Promethee (Preference Ranking Organization for Enrichment Evaluation), This method is appropriate for determining recipients of zakat assistance.

Selection of the most suitable university among many alternatives is a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. In this paper, an integrated approach which employs analytic network process (ANP) and preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluations (PROMETHEE) together, is proposed for this problem. By the way, the paper is concerned with criteria influencing student choice in Turkey to establish if there is any need in developing a multi-criteria model for predicting students’ preference for universities. The ANP is used to analyse the structure of the university selection problem and to determine weights of the criteria, and the PROMETHEE method is used to obtain final ranking, and to make a sensitivity analysis by changing the weights for criteria. The results indicate that three factors, future career prospects and opportunities, scholarship and university's social life at the top in the university selection.

The word bearing implies to an element of the machine which allows one moving or vibrating part to support other rubbing surfaces by which the load can transmit. Depending upon in nature and application of load, an extensive variety of different bearing is available. They can generally be categorized into two kinds of bearing such as rolling element bearing and a sliding bearing. Lubrication is required in the middle of rubbing surfaces, which enacts as a medium between the moving surfaces to diminish friction and to take away heat for survival during the transmission of the load. In this paper, a literature review has been made on the influence of different lubricants on the performance of various bearing. The selection of an appropriate lubricant is a very critical decision to take for the efficient performance of a bearing because each lubricant has its own merits and demerits on various kinds of bearing. In the later portion of this paper, a selection process of right lubricant in sliding contact bearing is analyzed mathematically. This critical decision is being made by using PROMETHEE method (broadly Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations) hybridized by Entropy Weight Measurement method and Fuzzy scale. As per the ranking of Entropy-PROMETHEE method, the best suited lubricant for sliding contact bearing is SAE20W40.

Decision making is a condition that must occur at various top management levels and sometimesinterventions or conflict of interest occur in making decisions. Preference Ranking for Organization Method forEnrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE) is a method that can be used to help decision makers in this case thebest student selection decision at a university. Tests carried out using the PROMETHEE method can produce acomplete ranking by eliminating the low value of each process in the PROMETHEE method and by developapplication using programming language it’s much faster to get decision.

Due to the important advantages it offers, gamification is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, and interest from the market and from users continues to grow. This has led to the development of more and more applications aimed at different fields, and in particular the education sector. Choosing the most suitable application is increasingly difficult, and so to solve this problem, our study designed a model which is an innovative combination of fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) with the Measuring Attractiveness by a Categorical Based Evaluation Technique (MACBETH) and Shannon entropy theory, to choose the most suitable gamification application for the Industrial Manufacturing and Organisation Systems course in the degree programmes for Electrical Engineering and Industrial and Automatic Electronics at the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering of Ciudad Real, part of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. There is no precedent in the literature that combines MACBETH and fuzzy Shannon entropy to simultaneously consider the subjective and objective weights of criteria to achieve a more accurate model. The objective weights computed from fuzzy Shannon entropy were compared with those calculated from De Luca and Termini entropy and exponential entropy. The validity of the proposed method is tested through the Preference Ranking Organisation METHod for Enrichment of Evaluations (PROMETHEE) II, ELimination and Choice Expressing REality (ELECTRE) III, and fuzzy VIKOR method (VIsekriterijumska optimizacija i KOmpromisno Resenje). The results show that Quizizz is the best option for this course, and it was used in two academic years. There are no precedents in the literature using fuzzy multicriteria decision analysis techniques to select the most suitable gamification application for a degree-level university course.

It is urgent to evaluate the rest of the renewed elements within the university didactic action, overcoming the hegemony of traditional methods in which the professor constitutes as the sole evaluator. If autonomous and cooperative group-based learning is encouraged, self-assessment and co-assessment must also be promoted, apart from the traditional lecturing and evaluation by others. The assessing competence of Teacher Training degree students (n = 175) was researched, started with stratified sampling (in the second and fourth years), following a participant selection process in each group. The compiled data were subject to descriptive, inferential, and correlation analysis by means of statistical software. The results pointed to low execution levels as for the self-evaluation (individual and group), although a certain progress was identified in the four year students compared to those in their second year of study. A better execution in evaluation was observed in all students regarding co-assessment (among different work groups in the classroom) and assessment by others (towards the professor). The use of all types of assessment is proposed, having a certain awareness and training regarding self-evaluation, and counting with a full supervision and control over it. All in all, the advantages of multiple and democratic assessment surpass the drawbacks derived from them.

[ACCESS RESTRICTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI AT REQUEST OF AUTHOR.] Universities commercialize their discoveries at an increasing pace in order to maximize their economic impact and generate additional funding for research. They form technology transfer offices (TTOs) to evaluate the commercial value of university inventions and choose the most promising ones to patent and commercialize. Uncertainties and asymmetric information in project selection make the TTO choices difficult and can cause both type 1 error (forgo valuable discoveries) and type 2 error (select low-value discoveries). In this dissertation, I examine the TTO's project selection process and the factors that influence the choice of academic inventions for patenting and commercialization, the type 1 error committed, and the final licensing outcome. The dissertation contains three essays. In the first essay, I analyze project selection under uncertainty when both the quality of the proposed project and the motives of the applicant are uncertain. Some inventors may have an incentive to disguise the true quality and commercial value of their discoveries in order to conform to organizational expectations of disclosure while retaining rights to potentially pursue commercialization of their discoveries outside the organization's boundaries for their own benefit. Inventors may equally, ex post, lose interest to the commercialization of their invention due to competing job demands. I develop a model to examine the decision process of a university TTO responsible for the commercialization of academic inventions under such circumstances. The model describes the conditions that prompt Type 1 and Type 2 errors and allows for inferences for minimizing each. Little is known about the factors that make project selection effective or the opposite and there has been limited empirical analysis in this area. The few empirical studies that are available, examine the sources of type 2 error but there is no empirical work that analyzes type 1 error and the contributing factors. Research on type 1 error encounters two main difficulties. First, it is difficult to ascertain the decision process and second, it is challenging to approximate the counterfactual. Using data from the TTO of the University of Missouri, in the second essay I study the factors that influence the project selection process of the TTO in and the ex post type 1 error realized. In most cases, universities pursue commercialization of their inventions through licensing. There have been a few empirical studies that have researched the factors that affect licensing and their relative importance. In the third essay, I examine the characteristics of university inventions that are licensed using almost 10 years of data on several hundred of inventions, their characteristics, and the licensing status.

On many construction projects, especially building projects, 80–90% of the tasks are performed by subcontractors. Since the success of the project highly depends on the performances of the subcontractors, selecting the right subcontractor for the right job is critical. Main contractors generally tend to select the subcontractors that offer the lowest bid price. However, working with unqualified and insufficiently financed subcontractors may result in inefficiencies and failures. Thus, a combination of several compromising and conflicting criteria underpinning financial capacity and competencies of the subcontractors should be considered during the subcontractor selection process. This paper proposes an integrated decision approach, which employs analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluations (PROMETHEE) together, for the subcontractor selection problem. In the proposed approach, AHP is used to analyze the structure of the subcontractor selection problem and to determine the weights of the criteria, and PROMETHEE is employed to obtain complete ranking and perform sensitivity analysis by changing the weights of criteria. The proposed approach is applied to a problem of selecting the most appropriate subcontractor to be worked with in an international construction project. Company management found the proposed decision approach satisfactory and implementable in future subcontractor selection problems.

The Department of History, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, the University of Gadjah Mada in 2015 made a milestone in the development of historiography in Indonesia. They made a bold move to produce a scholar with a documentary film work instead of a thesis. In the future, it is not impossible that this step will soon be followed by other universities in Indonesia. This paper was written in response to these developments. In this digital era-and in the midst of still low interest in reading in Indonesia-emerged the discourse to seek new media for historiography in Indonesia. The film, especially documentary films are seen as new media that match the characteristics of history because of they both present real-life reality. Moreover, Indonesia with the diversity of tribes and culture and history, of course, save a variety of themes that will not run out to be appointed a documentary. Based on that, this paper will discuss the types, forms, and format of the documentary that is suitable and possible to be produced by history students as a substitute for thesis-considering the cost of film production tends to be higher than thesis research. Thus, the film of a documentary a college student, especially a history produces the quality of research and aestheticsKata

Bureau of Student Advisory Center (BSAC) Universitas Pembangunan Panca Budi is a center for career development and character building for students. In this case, a soft skill seminar is conducted to find the best candidate employees in the field of recruitment offered based on the criteria of student soft skill training. Determining the level of soft skill competences of students using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and the Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE). For decision support systems using the AHP and PROMETHEE methods in determining the level of soft skill competencies, in order to obtain prospective employees who have the required soft skill competency level. Data collection was carried out by conducting research. The data is taken from the seminar results with 100 participants. The data that has been collected, processed and analyzed before being used as input and output as a basis for learning or training using the AHP and Promethee methods. Based on the calculations of the two methods, namely the AHP and Promethee methods, there are differences in calculations. In other words, because Promethee does not support the determination of weights and the hierarchy of criteria and does not have the assurance of consistency when determining weights like AHP. So that the program execution has a different time in the results, in the AHP method, program execution until the final result is obtained is better than the Promethee method. AHP has advantages in determining weights and criteria hierarchy, while Promethee has advantages in the alternative ranking process using different preference and weight functions.
