Tourists’ Perception on Memorable Tourism Experience Towards Their Revisit Intentions to Islamic Tourism Destination in Shah Alam, Selangor

Islamic tourism has gained popularity among tourists and a huge potential for Malaysia to explore in the tourism industry. Muslims travelers are inclined to adhere to Islamic  teachings which may, directly and indirectly, impact their decisions concerning leisure and travel plans. This study aims to examine the relationship linking tourists' memorable tourism experience attributes and their revisit intentions to Islamic tourism destination. Using convenience sampling, a total of 384 survey questionnaires were distributed to respondents visiting Islamic tourism attractions in Shah Alam and were used for data analysis. Regression results revealed that three Memorable Tourism Experience attributes have significant relationships with tourists’ revisit intention. These include hedonism experience, meaningfulness experience and social interaction. Of these three attributes, hedonism proved to have the most significant impact on tourists’ revisit intentions

Purpose This study aims to examine the hedonism attributes, memorable tourism experience (MTE), revisit intention and their relationships. This study explores the antecedents of hedonism as physical environment, shopping at the destination, service quality, personalisation and exclusivity that influence MTE. The relationship of hedonism factors with revisit intention is also investigated in light of the mediation of MTE between them. Design/methodology/approach For this study, a sample of 600 tourists is collected by using the convenience sampling technique. The collected data is analysed by using the confirmatory factor analysis-structural equation modelling approach. Findings The empirically validated model recommends the significant relationships between the hedonism elements and revisits intention with the mediating effect of MTE. The findings suggest that tourists who positively perceive hedonism attributes are more likely to have positive MTEs, and they revisit the destination. Originality/value This research study examines the relationship of hedonism determinants with MTE of the tourists leading to their revisit intention for a tourism destination. It helps to understand MTE as the main component to affect tourists’ revisit intention for a destination and make sustainable tourism.

Understanding consumers’ psychology and revisit intentions are important to destination management. Few studies explored how hedonism affected on tourists’ experience and revisit intention. This study analyzes the relationship among hedonism, tourism experience, and revisit intention in Macau from the customers’ perspective. The findings show that there are direct and positive relationships between hedonism and revisit intention. This study draws the attention of applying hedonism to entertainment tourism to increase tourist revisit intention. Implications and suggestions for entertainment providers and tourism planners are provided.

Festivals and events are important activities related to enhancing the image of the destination. Modern festivals are spread all over the world, not only changing the rhythm of daily life but also bringing more development possibilities for the places where these festivals are held. In order to learn more about tourists’ experiences in emerging events, a detailed study of famous hot air balloon festivals was conducted in Taitung City, Taiwan. Based on the stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) model, the purpose of this study is to explore the relationship among these three constructs, namely stimulus: perception of marketing strategies and motivation, organism: positive emotions and satisfaction and response: revisit intention. Face-to-face surveys were conducted on-site in 2014 and 2018, a total of 896 valid questionnaires were collected from tourists who visited the Taiwan International Balloon Festival. SPSS Macros PROCESS was used to examine the measurement model. This study confirms the application of the S-O-R model in predicting tourists’ revisit intentions in the context of emerging events in the tourism industry. The survey results show that whether in 2014 or 2018, tourists’ satisfaction and tourists’ positive emotions can mediate the relationship between tourists’ perception of marketing strategies (or tourist’s motivation) and tourists’ revisit intention. Moreover, only in 2018, tourists’ visiting frequency can moderate the relationship between satisfaction and revisit intention.

An increasing demand for Islamic tourism has driven the concept of a ‘Halal’ (or permissible) friendly hotel into another level of business insight within the consumers’ travel market. The concept via its unique value proposition has rapidly become very attractive not only to Muslim tourists, but also to non-Muslim tourists globally. This study aims to examine the relationship linking ‘Halal’ friendly hotel attributes and customer satisfaction. Using purposive sampling, a total of 410 survey questionnaires were distributed to targeted respondents with only 323 usable feedbacks and used for data analysis. Regression results revealed that four main “Halal-friendly hotel” attributes have significant relationships with customer satisfaction. These include prayer facilities, Halal food, Islamic dress code and general Islamic morality. Of these four attributes, prayer facilities proved to have the most significant impact on customer satisfaction. Findings and managerial implications were further discussed in this article.

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the burnout levels of music teachers and their personalities. The research consisted of 278 music teachers who were selected from various places throughout Turkey via subjective, convenience sampling method. For data collection, the ‘Personal Information Form’, ‘Adjective Based Personality Test’ and ‘Maslach Burnout Scale’ were used. The research involved both quantitative and qualitative dimensions. The data were analyzed by quantitative t-test, multiple regression analysis and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Data for the qualitative dimension of the research were obtained from semi-structured interviews conducted with 5 music teachers. Negative, significant relationships were determined between extroversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, openness and general burnout, while a positive, significant relationship was determined between neuroticism and general burnout. The burnout variable was found to have a statistically significant effect on the openness, neuroticism and conscientiousness dimensions of the personality types. The effects of conscientiousness and openness dimensions were not, however, found to be significant. The music teachers who had characteristics of extroversion and conscientiousness were found to have higher levels of burnout if they have the characteristics of neuroticism that reduce their exhaustion. The findings of the research show that the effect of personality types on burnout is important.

Purpose In order to offer a theoretical and empirical contribution to the theme, the purpose of this paper is to assess the tourist image of the destination Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil, from the tourists’ perspective. The authors specify the latent dimensions involved in the formation of the cognitive, affective, and conative image of coastal tourism destination, through which the authors can analyze and measure the construct. Design/methodology/approach The research is exploratory, descriptive, and predominantly quantitative. It uses non-probability convenience sampling, consisting of a sample of 425 tourists. Data collection were conducted in the studied destination during the summer season – 2015/2016. Findings Through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, the authors identified and tested the factors that comprise the image. Structural equation model evaluated the relationship that theoretically exists between the components of the image and the weight of the various components (cognitive, affective, and conative) on the overall image of the destination. Originality/value This research contributes theoretically and empirically to the discussions on the components of the destination image, in as much as it analyzes and interprets the cognitive, affective, and conative components of the image of the tourism destination Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

This study aims to analyze the destination image and memorable tourism experience on revisit intention through tourist satisfaction at Maimoon Palace. The type of research used in this research is associative research. The population in this study were tourists who visited the Maimoon Palace with the samples taken in this study were 135 respondents. Withdrawal of the number of sample sizes is done by non-probability sampling using purposive sampling method. The data used are primary data and secondary data obtained through a list of statements and documentation studies. The data analysis technique uses structural equation modeling (SEM) with the Smart PLS version 3.0 analysis tool. The results of the study directly show that destination image has a positive and significant effect on revisit intention, memorable tourism experience has a positive and significant effect on revisit intention, destination image has a negative and significant effect on revisit intention, memorable tourism experience has a positive and significant effect on revisit intention, and tourist satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on revisit intention. Then the results of tests carried out indirectly indicate that tourist satisfaction is not able to mediate the relationship between destination image and revisit intention, but tourist satisfaction is able to mediate the relationship between memorable tourism experience and revisit intention. Abstract The development of tourism industry includes the development of rural tourism based on Edu-Tourism. The biggest challenge of this industry is the lack of interest of the tourists to return to the rural tourism or Edu-Tourism destinations. The objectives of the study are to see the influence of destination quality, experience involvement, and memorable tourism experience towards clients’ satisfaction and to establish word of mouth of the rural tourism. Questionnaire were distributed to 200 respondents as the sample of the study. The result of the study showed that destination quality significantly affected tourists’ satisfaction and word of mouth; whereas experience involvement affected memorable tourism experience and tourists’ satisfaction. Furthermore, memorable tourism experience has significant impact on tourists’ satisfaction and word of mouth; and the tourists’ satisfaction significantly influenced word of mouth. The research is unfortunately limited the concept of satisfaction theory, memorable tourism experience and word of mouth theory to the rural tourism destination only rather than other tourism destinations.

The goal of this study is to show how satisfied tourists is of supreme significance to the tourism industry, particularly as it affects the future of a nature-based destination and explores the relationship among destination image, service quality, perceived value, tourist satisfaction, word-of-mouth, and revisit intentions of tourists. The 292 survey data was obtained via a structured questionnaire from tourists who visited the Haor region, Bangladesh and structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to test the hypothetical paths. Six hypotheses were accepted, and one is rejected. Tourism stakeholders can find important knowledge and they can satisfy tourists, which is likely by improving destination.

We focused in this study on the linear relationships among satisfaction with setting attributes, revisit intention, and place attachment, and also investigated the role of place attachment as a mediator in the relationship between setting attributes and revisit behavioral intention. Sports tourists (N = 294) who participated in triathlon events were recruited using convenience sampling and completed questionnaires. The empirical results revealed that satisfaction with setting attributes positively affected place attachment, which positively affected revisit intention. Satisfaction with setting attributes exerted a positive influence on revisit intention. Place attachment was found to be a significant mediator in the relationship between satisfaction with setting attributes and revisit intention. Our results can be used as a basis for improving and advancing sports tourism strategies to create a competitive advantage.
