Entrepreneurship among tertiary education graduates is not satisfactory because the current education system makes students tend to be job seekers rather than job creators. The interest in creating jobs from students through entrepreneur is faced with the perception of opportunities to get jobs according to their abilities. This study identify the effect of perceptions of job opportunities and the component of theory of planned behavior on student entrepreneurial interests and behavior. This study sampled 100 undergraduate students from Diponegoro University and used a variance-based structural equation analysis model (SEM-PLS) with Warp PLS 6.0 software. The results obtained from this study indicate that the perceived employability has a significant negative effect on the emergence of entrepreneurial behavior, but does not affect the entrepreneurial intention. Components of the theory of planned behavior, attitudes have a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial interest, subjective norms do not affect both entrepreneurial interest and behavior, while significant behavioral control positively influences both entrepreneurial intention and behavior. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in improving the existing education system at the university level in order to increase graduates choosing entrepreneurial careers.  Wirausaha di kalangan lulusan pendidikan tinggi situasinya belum cukup memuaskan karena sistem pendidikan yang ada saat ini membuat mahasiswa cenderung menjadi pencari kerja bukan pencipta lapangan kerja. Minat menciptakan lapangan kerja melalui wirausaha oleh mahasiswa juga dihadapkan dengan persepsi peluang untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan sesuai dengan kemampuan mereka. Penelitian ini bermaksud mengidentifikasi pengaruh persepsi peluang kerja dan komponen theory of planned behavior terhadap minat maupun perilaku wirausaha mahasiswa. Penelitian ini mengambil sampel dari mahasiswa S1 Universitas Diponegoro sebanyak 100 orang dan menggunakan analisis model persamaan struktural berbasis varian (SEM-PLS) dengan software Warp PLS 6.0. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi peluang kerja berpengaruh signifikan negatif terhadap munculnya perilaku wirausaha, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap minat wirausaha. Komponen theory of planned behavior yaitu sikap hanya signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap minat wirausaha, norma subjektif tidak berpengaruh baik pada minat maupun perilaku wirausaha, sedangkan kontrol perilaku signifikan positif mempengaruhi baik minat maupun perilaku wirausaha. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan bisa menjadi acuan dalam memperbaiki sistem pendidikan yang ada di tingiat universitas agar menambah lulusannya memilih karir wirausaha.

This research aimed to analyze the cash waqf literacy index and factors influencing public intention to pay cash waqf. The analysis used is theory of planned behavior (TPB) and structural equation modeling (SEM) to measure the relationship of latent variables, i.e. cash waqf literacy, religiosity, attitudes, subjective norms and behavior control. The SEM model in this study was processed using Lisrel version 8.3 software. The results showed that the cash waqf literacy index of people in Jabodetabek was 59.04%, which is still included in the low literacy category. The results also showed that cash waqf literacy, religiosity, attitudes, subjective norms and behavioral control have a significant and positive influence on the intention in paying cash waqf. Whistleblowing is a psychological process that involves the calculation of risks and benefits. While there exists a broad range of research on whistleblowing in the public sector, previous studies have not examined its entire process due to the limited focus on either whistleblowing intention or whistleblowing behavior. This study aims to fill this gap by applying the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to the whistleblowing context. Specifically, we examine how individual beliefs about the likely consequences of whistleblowing (attitude toward whistleblowing), others’ expectations about whistleblowing (subjective norm), and the capability of blowing the whistle (perceived behavioral control) influence public employees’ actual whistleblowing by way of their intention to report wrongdoings. A series of structural equation models are tested using data from the 2010 Merit Principles Survey. The findings show that the more the employees perceive that the consequences of whistleblowing are important, the more the key referents support whistleblowing, and the more the protections for whistleblowers are available, the more likely are their intentions to disclose wrongdoings and then actually engage in whistleblowing behavior. We conduct additional analyses for internal and external whistleblowers separately and find that there are both meaningful similarities and differences between the two groups. This study provides support for the validity of TPB as a theoretical framework for better understanding and explicating the psychological process of bureaucratic whistleblowing.

Cheating on tests is a serious problem in education. The purpose of this study was to test the efficacy of a modified form of the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to predict cheating behavior among a sample of Saudi university students. This study also sought to test the influence of cheating in high school on cheating in college within the framework of the TPB. Analyses were conducted on a sample of 322 undergraduate students using structural equation modeling. The results were consistent with the TPB model’s predictions. The TPB model explained a modest variance in cheating in college. When cheating in high school added to the model, the proportion of explained variance increased and cheating in high school was the best predictor of cheating in college. Although not hypothesized by the TPB, subjective norm had a direct effect on attitude.

A large number of muslim population in Indonesia have an impact on the development of muslim fashion in Indonesia and led to the emergence of muslim communities such as Hijabers Surabaya community. Hijabers Surabaya community also linked himself with sharia, such as cooperation with the islamic banking in which all community members will get free sharia account when joining the community.This research focuses on the behavior and attitude of community members towards the use of sharia account by using the theory of planned behavior perspective. This study used Structural Equation Model. Total participants in this study amounted to 150 members. The results obtained in this study is: (1) Behavior belief affect the attitude toward behavior. (2) Normative belief not effect the subjective norm. (3) Motivation to comply not effect the subjective norm. (4) Control belief affect the perceived behavioral control. (5) Attitude toward behavior affect the intention to use. (6) Subjective norm not affect the intention to use. (7) Perceived behavioral control not affect to the intention to use.

Intentions have been described as a key driver of sustainable entrepreneurial opportunity recognition and eventually activity. As a result of this study, interest may increase in entrepreneurship intentions across numerous entrepreneurial levels and styles, specifically from the point of view of sustainability. However, research to date has not been able to completely determine how the intrinsic complications of instantaneously producing social, environmental, and economic means will have an impact on the intentions of university students. This study sought to inspect the impact of self-transcending and self-enhancing value on the advent of intentions. The theory of planned behavior is an adaptive theory that this study quantitatively analyzed using a structural equation model and survey data from 577 university students in Punjab, Pakistan. The empirical findings show that altruistic, biospheric, hedonic, and egoistic values all have an indirect effect on sustainability-driven entrepreneurial intentions, which is important to understand when assessing attitudes toward sustainable entrepreneurship and perceived behavior control. In essence, attitudes, perceived behavior, and social norms all affect aspirations to become a sustainable entrepreneur. In real-world terms, the findings indicate that by using value activation techniques to increase attitudes and educational interest, practitioners may promote sustainable entrepreneurial intentions. It is also suggested how government services could be improved as part of the strategy.

The research attempts to quantify the significance of perceived education support, self-efficacy, and the theory of planned behavior in predicting the entrepreneurial intention among undergraduate students in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). The paper employs a 28-item questionnaire to acquire information on undergraduate demographics and six variables based on the five-point Likert scale. SmartPLS version 3.0 was applied to analyze statistical data collecting from 312 students in three selected universities in Ho Chi Minh City. The findings indicate that perceived education support and two elements of theory planned behavior, specifically, attitude towards entrepreneurship and perceived behavioral control positively and significantly affect entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, perceived education support had a strong correlation on attitude towards entrepreneurship. Overall, the paper suggests practical implications in increasing entrepreneurship intention toward undergraduates.

PurposeThis study seeks to investigate the influence of the theory of planned behavior (TPB), of the conscious consumption intention and of the consumer ethical considerations, on Slow Fashion Consumption in the region known as Agreste Pernambucano, in Brazil, which is known for being an apparel manufacturing area.Design/methodology/approachTo achieve this purpose, descriptive quantitative research using non-probabilistic sampling was conducted. Data were collected through an online survey and distributed through the snowball technique. The sample consists of 486 respondents and relies on structural equation modeling for data analysis.FindingsThe results highlight that the Slow Fashion Consumption, in the scope of Local Productive Arrangement (LPA) of clothing manufacturing in the Agreste region, is influenced by the intention of conscious consumption, the ethical considerations in consumer behavior and the perceived behavioral control. Moreover, the results highlight the role of the influence of subjective norms both in the attitudes of consumers and the intention of conscious consumption.Originality/valueThe primary contribution of this study is to demonstrate that perceived behavioral control is positively associated with Slow Fashion Consumption, which, in turn, shows that respondents believe they have control over their sustainable actions.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the entrepreneurial intention of university students using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and parents' occupation. A questionnaire based survey was employed for the data collection. A total of 1244 students participated in the survey. The sample was a convenience one given that the resources available were limited. The size of the sample allows us to proceed with reliable statistical analyses and produce valid conclusions. The findings of our research showed that perceived behavioral control, subjective norms, attitude and parents' occupation are important variables influencing entrepreneurial intention. The variable that affects entrepreneurial intention the most is attitude. The findings led support to the theory and the hypotheses proposed. These findings indicate that the recommended model can be used to explain a large part of variation in entrepreneurial intention. This study, contributes to the entrepreneurial intention literature providing empirical evidence to help formulate policies encouraging university students' entrepreneurship practices, attracting the interest of both educators and policy makers. This evidence will become increasingly important, as research in the field of entrepreneurship continues to place models of entrepreneurial intentions at the center of our understanding of the entrepreneurial process. Future studies could investigate the validity of the findings reported here, in different contexts using more variables, not included in this study and inquire the potential existence of latent variables which may be confounding the relationships discussed in this paper.

This study is the first to examine the impact of entrepreneurship education (EE) on entrepreneurial intention (EI) among vocational college students in China. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior and the EI Questionnaire the study investigates the relationships between EI, its antecedents and EE. The data were collected by surveying 383 vocational college students in Wuxi, Jiangsu, in the People's Republic of China. The researcher used Least-Squares Regression modeling to find significant positive relationships between personal attitude, perceived behavioral control, and EE with EI. Mediation analysis found personal attitude to partially mediate the EE–EI relationship. The results suggest EE is effective in stimulating EI in China. This study provides implications to policy-makers, vocational institutions, and scholars given the current state of China's economy, recent government policies, and the ongoing debate surrounding the EE–EI relationship.

The predictive value of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) on intention and physical activity (PA) over time was examined. Data from the Aging Well and Healthily intervention program (targeting perceived behavioral control and attitude, not subjective norm) were analyzed, including pretest (T0), posttest (T1, except subjective norm) and 4–6 months follow-up (T2, PA outcomes only) (N = 387, M age 72 years). Structural equation modeling was used to test a TPB model. PA was measured subjectively using the Voorrips sports subscale (T0 and T2), items measured perceived increase in PA (T1), and adherence to exercises (T1 and T2). Model fit was good. The TPB explained variation in intention well (R2 .54–.60) and some PA behavior (R2 .13–.16). The intervention successfully got participants to exercise independent of the measured TPB concepts. More TPB studies in the context of interventions are needed.
