Edmodo is one of the electronic learning or e-learning platforms that have advantages, one of which is a display similar to Facebook's social media. This study aimed to determine the relationship of the information-seeking behavior of students of ‘Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri’ (SMKN -Vocational High School) 1, Bandung, with the utilization of Edmodo learning media. This study examined the relationship between the drive for needs, creating change, and environmental activities with the utilization of Edmodo learning media. The method used a correlation study with a quantitative approach. The population in the study were students of class X SMKN 1 Bandung, amounting to 448 people. The sample of this study was 150 people. This research used the information-seeking behavior theory from Krikelas and the concept of Information Technology (IT) Utilization from Thompson. The correlation test analysis technique used Pearson Product Moment (PPM). The results showed that the drive for needs, creating change, and environmental activities, all had a significant relationship with Edmodo learning media. This study concludes that the relationship of information-seeking behavior with the utilization of Edmodo learning media has a low level of closeness. This condition is due to several factors, for Edmodo still functions as a complementary tool and diversity of other learning resources that support student information-seeking activities at SMKN1, Bandung.

ICT can be used reasonably in transferring the modern agricultural technologies to the farmers. ICT has many applications in agricultural extension most especially in accessing required information and knowledge. Hence, the present investigation was carried out in Jabalpur, Patan, Sihora and Panagar Blocks of Jabalpur District of Madhya Pradesh. The main objective of the study was to analyse the relationship between selected profile characteristics of farmers and impact of Krishinet Portal. A total of 280 respondents were purposively selected for the study through simple random technique. The results of the study shown that majority of the respondents (48.57%) were middle aged (38-51 years), educated upto higher secondary level (24.64%), had medium family size (51.79%), had lower income (Rs. 33000 to 55000 p.a.) (38.22%), had small (2.5 to 5 acre) land holding (43.57%), had medium information seeking behavior (58.21%), had positive attitude towards KGK (61.78%), had positive attitude towards ICT (69.29%), had medium innovativeness (52.14%) and medium economic motivation (62.50%). The relationship between selected profile characteristics and impact of Krishinet portal indicated that education, annual income, operational land holding, information seeking behavior, attitude towards KGK and attitude towards ICT were positively significantly related, which means the respondents who is more educated, more annual income, large size of operational land holding, high information seeking behavior, positive attitude towards KGK and positive attitude towards ICT, getting more benefit from use of Krishinet portal.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among newcomers’ proactive personality, information seeking behavior and organizational socialization. Specifically, This study investigated not only the main effect of newcomers’ proactive personality on information seeking behaviors which related to job and relationship building, and organizational socialization but also the moderating roles of team climate and leader behaviors on the relationships between proactive personality and information seeking behaviors, and between information seeking behaviors and organizational socialization. Online survey was conducted to 151 korean employees working for at least 3 months to 6 months and 151data were obtained for statistical analysis. Three steps of analysis procedures were carried out. First, correlation analysis was conducted and the results showed that there were positive relationship among main variables such as proactive personality, information seeking behavior, organizational socialization and etc. Second, the results of structural equitation model analyses showed that newcomers’ information seeking behaviors fully mediate proactive personality and organizational socialization. Third the results of hierarchial regression analyses showed that while leader behaviors which were specified to feedback behavior and consideration behavior moderated the relationship between information seeking behaviors and organizational socialization, Team openness did not moderate the relationship between proactive personality and information seeking behaviors. The implications and limitations of this study and the directions for future research were discussed on the basis of the results.

This study aims to determine information-seeking behavior and innovative behavior of final year students in compiling scientific papers (tesis, dissertation) at the Hasanuddin University Library (UNHAS). Primary data obtained through questionnaires. The population in this study were all visitors who visited the UPT Library of UNHAS totaling 420 people per day. The number of samples for 81 people was calculated using the Slovin formula. The data analysis used was simple linear regression to prove the influence between the Information Seeking Behavior and Student Innovative Behavior variables in the UPT Library of UNHAS. This study found information seeking behavior has a positive and significant correlation with innovative behavior, at a strong correlation level (0.762). The character of students with innovative behavior is shown in searching for information, such as finding out the latest technology can be used to obtain the required reference source information. Another character found is shown in students' efforts to obtain the information directly from the original source through various networks and communication media. Indicators of information utilization due to the need to compile a final project proved to be the strongest predictor of innovative behavior. Meanwhile, indicators were found that there were less innovative students coming up with new ideas in information seeking, therefore it is recommended to escalate the student information literacy and library education by including information retrieval techniques.

Recently, there has been increasing concern about reducing and replacing chemical fertilizers with biofertilizers to enhance soil fertility and maintain agroecosystems and sustainable agricultural production. Given that knowledge of biofertilizers is information-intensive, the lack of information-seeking behavior (ISB) might be the primary constraint for farmers adopting biofertilizers. This study aimed to analyze how ISB influences farmers’ adoption of biofertilizers, using a sample of 228 onion farmers in Al-Ahsa Governorate, Saudi Arabia. The results indicate that most farmers had a moderate level of ISB. The most frequently accessed sources were mobile applications, extension institutions, and progressive farmers. The results of cluster analysis show that farmers’ ISB differed significantly according to their main occupation. Among the onion farmers, 35%had adopted biofertilizers. The findings also reveal that farm size, attitude toward biofertilizers, the credibility of information sources, and the usefulness of the information positively and significantly influence farmers’ adoption of biofertilizers. It was concluded that understanding the relationship between adoption and ISB could assist policymakers in focusing on knowledge diffusion when designing extension programs and advisory services to facilitate better usage of biofertilizers.

BACKGROUND People engage in health information seeking behavior (HISB) to support health outcomes. Being able to predict a person’s behavior can inform the development of interventions to guide effective health information seeking. Obtaining a comprehensive list of the predictors of HISB through a systematic search of the literature and exploring the inter-relationship of these predictors are important first steps in this process. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to; identify significant predictors of health information seeking behavior (HISB) in the primary literature; develop a common taxonomy for predictors of HISB; and identify the evolution of the HISB research field. METHODS A systematic search of PsycINFO and Scopus was conducted for all years up to and including 10/12/2019. Quantitative studies identifying significant predictors of HISB were included. Information seeking was defined broadly and not restricted to any one source of health information. Data extraction of the significant predictors was performed by two authors. A network analysis was conducted to observe relationships between predictors over time. RESULTS A total of 6,402 articles were retrieved, and after screening, 300 studies were retained for analysis. A total of 1,413 significant predictors were identified. These predictors were categorized into 67 predictor clusters. The most central predictors were age, education, gender, health condition and financial income. Over time, the inter-relationship of predictors in the network became denser, with the growth of new predictor grouping reaching saturation (1 new predictor identified) in the past 7 years, despite increasing publication rates. CONCLUSIONS A common taxonomy was developed, classifying 67 significant predictors of HISB. A novel temporal network was developed to track the evolution of research in HISB field, showing a maturation of new predictor terms and an increase in primary studies reporting multiple significant predictors of HISB. HISB research literature has experienced evolution with decreased characterization of novel predictors of HISB over time. A parallel increase in the complexity of predicting HISB has been identified with an increase in literature describing multiple significant predictors of HISB.
