Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Literasi Matematis, Problem Based Instruction, PBI.  Mathematical Literacy Ability Students through Problem Based Instruction Learning ModelsAbstractThe background of this research is low mathematical literacy ability. The purpose of this research is to find out the differences in increasing students’ mathematical literacy ability between those who use the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model as an alternative solution to the problem and who use ordinary learning. A method in this research is quasi-experimental with nonequivalent group pretest-posttest design. The instruments are a mathematical literacy instrument consisting of the initial test (pretest) and the final test (posttest). The population in this study were all students at SMP Negeri 5 Cianjur in year 2018/2019 that spread into 9th grade, while the samples chosen with purposive sampling technique were two classes, namely VIII D class as the experimental class which is given Problem Based Learning (PBI) and VIII C as the control class with ordinary learning. Based on the tests of mathematical literacy abilities that have been analyzed it is found that there are differences in mathematical literacy skills students who applied the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model is were better than ordinary learning. The increase is better when compared to the increase in students with ordinary learning. Keywords: Mathematical literacy ability, Problem Based Instruction, PBI.

Students’ ability to mathematical literacy is very important in their math learning process. Less ability of mathematical literacy as students’ way of thinking, argumentation and creating is no improvement so they face difficulties in solving math problems in their learning process related to real life. The analysis of the result from students of SMP Kristen 1 Mollo Selatan shows that they are still a low inability of mathematical literacy. The effect is questions used as exercise are common questions and not related to real life. To solve this problem, the researcher implemented Problem Based Learning (PBL) as a teaching literacy to improve students’ mathematical literacy abilities. This study will compare two classes in which one of them treated with PBL one of the other ones was not treated with PBL. A quasi-experiment quantitative method that used in this study with nonequivalent control group design. Two classes were selected as the sample by using simple random sampling. An essay test related to students’ mathematical literacy ability was used as the instrument to collect the data. The analysis technique in this study was an independent sample t-test to the result showed that the class which was treated used the PBL method was better than the class which was not treated used the PBL method. Students’ mathematical literacy ability in the PBL class was significantly proved in the high category with the score gain 0,8.

This research is motivated by the hope of students mastering mathematical literacy skills. Mathematical literacy can facilitate a person in understanding the usefulness of mathematics and applying it in everyday life to make the right decision. But in reality, based on the results of PISA 2018, Indonesia was decreased as a result of The Mathematical Literacy Ability Test. This study aims to determine: (1) The average literacy ability of experimental class students taught through PBL is better than the control class; (2) Class 5 student activities taught using the Problem Based Learning model, (3) Teachers can carry out learning using the Problem Based Learning learning model. This research is quantitative research with observation and documentation methods. The design used is a quasi-experimental design type Post-test only. This research uses an interval scale. The population is grade 5 students of SDN Gayungan II Surabaya. Samples were taken by cluster random sampling technique so that class 5-B (control class) and 5-A (experimental class) were obtained. Data collection techniques used were test methods analyzed with SPSS 22; observation of activities and implementation with descriptive; and documentation. The results showed that: (1) The average literacy ability of the experimental class students taught through PBL was better than the control class; (2) Student activities get very active categories; (3) The implementation of learning using the PBL model gets a Good category. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Mathematics Literacy Ability.

This research is based on the low learning outcomes of Citizenship Education for fourth grade students of State Primary School 010, Pulau Aro, Kuantan Tengah Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency, from 12 students only 5 (41.66%) who achieved the minimum completeness criteria determined by the school at 70 with an average score amounting to 65.4. The research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Citizenship Education through the application of problem based intruction models. The results of the study show, during the learning process before using the problem-based learning model, the average score was 65.4 with incomplete categories and after using the learning model based on the average problem of student learning outcomes in the first cycle to 79.7 with complete categories while in the cycle II has increased again to 87.6 with complete categories. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that through the application of problem-based learning models (Problem Based Intruction) can improve Student Grade 4 Citizenship Education Learning Outcomes of State Primary School 010, Pulau Aro, Kuantan Tengah Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency.

This study aim to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) models in mind map integration to creativity of problem solving in the environmental pollution concept of graders X. The method used is a Quasi-experimental design form Nonequivalent Control Group Design (pretest- posttest). The study population is all the students of graders X academic year 2017/2018 as many as 9 classes with the number of 360 students. The sample used was 80 students from two classes as an experimental class and a control class. Sampling was done by Cluster Random Sampling technique. Instruments used include test descriptions, questionnaires and teacher observation sheets. The results of the analysis of the test descriptions creativity in problem solving obtained results of hypothesis testing (t test) i.e. 20.5 t count > t table of 2.66 means that Ho refused and Hi accepted, it means PBL learning models in Mind Map integration effect on creativity in problems solving. This is indicated by an increase in the average score on each indicator of creativity in problem solving in which students are able to grow various ideas, enrich ideas, add or detail the details of an idea and determine the truth to solve the problems. From the analysis of questionnaire data showed an interest in learning to use the PBL modela in Mind map integration, students agreed that if the model of PBL in Mind map integration may be easier to learn about the concept of Environmental Pollution. In addition, students also agreed that if the PBL models in Mind map integration effect on creativity in problems solving. The results showed that there was a significant influence between learning using PBL models in Mind map integration those not using the learning models to creativity in problems solving in the concept of environmental pollution of graders X.
