The command of learning in the Qur'an aims to enable people to gain knowledge, experience, and learning in living life, especially in overcoming the problems encountered. Mathematics is a branch of science that plays an important role in life whose application is seen in various disciplines. Measurement material is one of the subjects of Mathematics I taught in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program (PGMI) semester V. The results of individual assignments show that the scores obtained are not optimal yet there are still many errors in completion. In this study, the authors used the Newman procedure error approach. Based on the results of the study, the percentage of reading errors reached 24.5%, understanding errors 17.6%, transformation errors 15.6%, processing skills errors 16.6% and answers writing errors 25.7%. The results of the interview show that reading errors are generally caused by incompetence in writing words/symbols due to factors that forget or do not know in standard writing. Misunderstanding is caused by students having difficulty understanding the phrase "standard unit writing", consequently also difficulty in determining the final result. Transformation errors are caused by errors in converting to standard units and errors for process skills are due to inaccuracy in writing answers so that they experience calculation errors that also have an impact on writing the final result. Finally, the answer writing error is caused by inaccuracy in writing the final answer caused by other types of mistakes made previously.

The subjects of this research are the 7th semester students of math study program of IKIP PGRI Pontianak in academic year 2016/2017. The instrument of this research was the test items analized by Newman error category and interviews. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded that (1) 24% of reading errors were in form of not knowing the meaning, (2) 24% of comprehension error is not knowing what to look for (3) 54.67% of transformation error is in form of generating function of the problem (4) 88% of error processing skill is in form of errors in the calculation and (5) 89.33% of encoding error is in form of mistakes in making final answer of the test.

This study used an experimental method with two-group post-test and only design. The normality test of the experimental class showed sig. 0.031 and the control class showed sig. 0.061. Homogeneity test, for the experimental class was 0.797 and the control class was 0.524. Test the effect / linearity for the experimental class and the control group 0.00, which meant that there was an influence between the experimental model and the control model on student exploration, the influence of an experimental model to the exploration was 63.6%. While the control model was 27.4%.

This paper presents a framework of a PhD research of the first author about a comparative study of pre-service elementary teachers’ knowledge of rational numbers between Indonesia and Denmark. To obtain the data, the authors design a series of hypothetical teacher tasks (HTTs), inspired by a paper of Durand-Guerrier, Winsløw, and Yoshida (2010). Subjects in this research are pre-service elementary teachers from a selection of different University Colleges in Denmark and from the elementary school teacher education study program, Riau University, in Indonesia. The praxeological reference models and the levels of didactic codetermination are used as tools to analyse the result.

Purpose: This study aims to determine the differences in science process skills in each class in the Physics Education Study Program. Methodology: This research is a quantitative study with a comparison design. The research sample used amounted to 108 students with details of 54 control class students who used conventional guidebooks, while the control class totaling 54 students used a science process skill guide. The research data was obtained from observation activities using observation sheets of science process skills which were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Finding: The results showed that there were significant differences in the mastery of science process skills of students seen from the value of the average mastery of science process skills of students using guidebooks based on science process skills. The experimental class has an average science process skill that is better than the control class.

This study aims to evaluate Indonesian in-service elementary teachers’ knowledge on fraction by their responses to contextual problems on multiplication of a fraction by a whole number (O1) and multiplication of a fraction by a fraction (O2). Fifty Indonesian in-service elementary teachers from Elementary School for Teacher Education study program, University of Riau, participated in this research in 2015. This research is based on anthropological theory of the didactic (ATD), in particular praxeology, as a framework to analyse the data. The result showed that only 22% of Indonesian in-service elementary teachers have a satisfactory relation to O1 and 64% of them have succeeded on the problems related to O2.
