Relationships with adjustment of married American teachers in Victoria, Australia, were examined. Positive relationships were obtained between husbands' and wives' feelings of belongingness and satisfaction with the work environment, however, the degrees to which husbands and wives missed relatives who remained in the U.S.A. were independent.

As Hyland, Lee, and Mills (2015) note, many conceptualizations of mindfulness include three characteristics. In particular, mindfulness is often defined as a state of consciousness in which an individual (a) focuses on the present moment, (b) attends to phenomena occurring both externally and internally, and (c) remains open to and accepting of observed stimuli—and thus avoids making judgments. Together, these characteristics grant insight into how mindfulness stands to improve performance in work settings. Just as directing attention to the work environment and the tasks and events associated with it can equip workers with key information for making decisions and help them identify and circumvent risks and threats, so too can attending to internal phenomena (e.g., emotions and intuitions) provide workers with useful inputs to the decisions they face (Dane, 2011). Furthermore, in refraining from making judgments and evaluations, workers are more likely to view unfolding events through a variety of lenses and are less likely to view their thoughts, feelings, and reactions as manifestations or indictments of who they are (Glomb, Duffy, Bono, & Yang, 2011). In line with these observations, researchers have hypothesized and provided evidence for positive relationships between mindfulness and the well-being and performance of workers (e.g., Allen & Kiburz, 2012; Dane & Brummel, 2014; Hülsheger, Alberts, Feinholdt, & Lang, 2013).

The research aimed to determine the Predictors Affecting the Level of Work Satisfaction in Relation to the Work Performance Among Secondary School Teachers in the Division of Zambales During SY 20120-2021. The descriptive research design were used with survey questionnaire as the data gathering. The study was limited on predictors affecting the level of work performance as to teaching hours, salary/remuneration, school officials/administrators, peer/colleagues, student factor, work environment and community supports predictors respectively. The respondents of the study were Secondary Teachers in the Division of Zambales. The findings revealed that the teacher-respondent is a typical female in her early adulthood, married, Roman Catholic, Mathematics major, Teacher 1, BS degree with masteral units of education and had been teaching for almost a decade. The teacher-respondent agreed on the predictors affecting the level of work performance as to teaching hours, salary/remuneration, school officials/administrators, peer/colleagues, student factor, work environment factor and community support. The teachers were rated “Very Satisfactory” on their level of work performance. There was a significant difference on the assessment towards salary/remuneration when grouped according to civil status, religion and highest educational attainment; on school officials/administrators when grouped according to position/designation. There was significant difference on the assessment of the teacher-respondents towards predictors affecting the level of work satisfaction. There was no significant relationship between the work satisfaction predictors and the level of work performance as reflected in the IPCRF performance rating.

Background and objectives: Changes in teachers’ work situation in Sweden since the 1990s may have contributed to an increase in common mental disorders (CMDs) and burnout. However, there is a lack of research in this field. The aim was to describe how Swedish elementary school teachers experience their health, organizational and social work environment, and the psychosocial safety climate at the workplace, and especially differences and similarities between female and male teachers. Materials and methods: Data were collected with the COPSOQ, OLBI, UWES and PSC-12 from 478 elementary teachers, 81.0% of them women, from twenty schools. The response rate was 96.4%. Results: Teachers reported relatively good general health but experienced high stress, high work pace and emotional demands, low influence at work and a poor psychosocial safety climate. These factors were especially prominent among female teachers. Both women and men experienced good development possibilities and high work engagement. Conclusions: The results of this study can help us to develop a more sustainable work environment for female and male teachers. A more sustainable work environment might attract more people to the profession and incentivize existing teachers to remain in the profession.
