Abstract Currently, one of the most concise expressions of the phenomenon of economic globalization is the extent of the organization of production on a global or regional basis and the integration on new criteria, of a functional nature, of the activities within it. A decisive role in the organization of production processes abroad is played by multinational companies, which, in order to achieve their objectives, most “export” not only know-how, but also management methods and techniques, applicable in the countries of origin. In this article, the authors aim to identify and highlight the main arguments that support the glocalization as an objective necessity and, at the same time, a viable solution to achieving a successful management of the multinational companies, to ensure a win-win relationship between them and the communities and the local markets in which they operate, in the context of economic globalization.

This paper presents theoretical reflections whose purpose is to discuss the performance of Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) and the fact that the impacts of their activities are the result of their management, despite their focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). For this purpose, we reviewed some of the main CSR concepts and reference documents to identify in which way this type of organization could be contributing to global inequality. Additionally, we describe the characteristics of the general orientation of CSR in these companies. The main results indicate that when moving to less developed countries, MNEs take advantage of the existing unequal conditions of income and precariousness of labor and environmental rules. The construction of a favorable image through CSR contributes to MNEs success, but at the cost of a complex and intense process of concentration of wealth and deepening of social inequality and poverty.

Most of the twentieth century, relations among multinational companies and the governments of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) were seen as conflictive, mainly in the extractive sector, as the former were considered as highly exploitative. However, this vision has evolved by two essential factors: a) the acceleration of the process of economic globalization in the last 30 years and b) certain advantages LCDs have promoted to foster economic growth at the moment Multinationals Companies (MNCs) are installed in their territories. The major concern of national governments in the LDCs is that some MNCs have greater influence and negotiation power than governments themselves because of the infrastructure deficiencies and competitive advantages, placing them in an unfavorable position at the time to negotiate with MNCs. This paper tries to identify the bargaining dynamic among multinationals and LDC governments, and the effects on the latter ones. Key words: Foreign Direct Investment, Bargaining strategies, Economic globalization, least development countries, Theoretical approaches. We investigate codetermination on German supervisory boards of multinational companies and pose two questions. First, under what conditions does board-level representation constitute a power resource for employee representatives? Second, how does board-level representation articulate with European Works Councils? We conclude that factors related to corporate structure – head office location, the level at which supervisory boards are established – play a decisive role in determining the power resources available to employee representatives. Articulation with European Works Councils depends on the adoption of a strategic approach whereby German employee representatives deploy the power resources derived from national codetermination rights at the transnational level, or use the mechanisms of transnational employee representation to compensate where such national power resources are lacking.

Based on the conducted research of Danish multinational companies, it was revealed that the organization of their work is characterized by strategies for expanding and entering foreign markets through the opening of production facilities. The reason for this is the small size of the Danish domestic market, the high demand for the products of the companies abroad, and the particular geographical location. The Russian market contains many opportunities for Danish companies to increase the client base, improve sales channels, and convenient location of production both due to the geographical and economic characteristics of location (the possibility of duty-free transportation of goods within the EAEU) and due to access to resources. At the same time, the Russian side is interested in the inflow of foreign direct investment, the creation of new workplaces, especially in remote regions of the country, the study and implementation of new methods of management and organization of production. An important factor is the presence of special economic zones, the advantages of which a foreign company can use. This article examines business projects that could be promising in the context of sanctions restrictions and are beneficial to both parties. Particular attention in the article is paid to the pharmaceutical sector, logistics services, and the energy sector.
