<p>The study was about improving speaking fluency of the students by teaching them using communicative approach. The objective of the study was to find out: 1. How the communicative approach improved the students’ speaking fluency, 2. How the perception of the students about communicative approach.This research was conducted by using CAR (Classroom Action Research). This research had two cycles. There were nine classes of the seventh graders in SMPN 1 Tenggarong. The writers chose one class as the subject that had a middle level ability of speaking English. After the first cycle, the students were given a test. After the scores out, the treatment was applied by the writers. To see whether it was successful or not, the writers themselves gave the post-test. Then the writers did the same thing like on the first cycle for the next cycle. The writers also gave an interview with an open-ended question to find out the students’ perception of communicative approach. The result showed that there was increased in their speaking fluency. In the first cycle, the score was 75,45 and 77,30. In the second cycle, the score was 79,6 and 81,60. Secondly, the perception of the students toward communicative approach showed that the students had a positive relationship with the teacher and the other students and also had a better cooperation in the class. It also showed how the students became more active in the classroom.</p>

This Collaborative Classroom Action Research aimed at enhancing students’ speaking skill through the application of Circle Game. It was conducted in one cycle consisting of two meetings. The subject was the seventh of C class of SMPN 2 Alas Barat consisting of 22 students. The types of data were qualitative (acquiring observation during the learning process) and quantitative (speaking tests). The results qualitatively showed that the implementation of Circle Game enhanced the students’ speaking skills. Such improvement could be seen from their enthusiasm, their interesting feeling in various materials presented by the teacher, their active involvement. In the quantitative findings, the result also showed a higher value of the mean score of the post-test (77.34) rather than the pre-test (75.75). In conclusion, the use of Circle Game can improve students’ speaking skill.

The research is aimed to the use of think inside the box strategy be able to improve students vocabulary mastery. The subject of this study was 20 students at second grade students of SMPN 4 Praya Barat Daya. In which consist of 8 males and 12 females. It was classroom action research with two cycles, each cycles of four steps: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The data gathering used written test, and questionnaires and analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative approach. At the result of the first cycle was failed where the mean score of pre test was 62.35 and class percentage was 30% and he mean score of post test was 70.25 and class percentage was 65% and the result of the second cycle that the mean score was 80,2 and the class percentage was 80% indicating the target of 75 of the minimum criterion has been achieved, it means that the action was stopped.

This research aims to find out the use of English Pop Song to enhance students’ listening ability in the first grade of SMAN 10 Mataram in 2020/2021. The research method of this research used Classroom Action Research. The data in this research was taken based on the listening test. The subject of this research was first-grade students IPS 1 of SMAN 10 Mataram, which consisted of 25 students. This research was conducted in one cycle. The instruments of this research were taken by test and observation sheet. The main score of students listening ability of pre-test was 45 with a percentage (12%) and the main score of post-test was 76 with a percentage (84%). The researchers concluded that the score of the students’ listening was higher than the Minimum Complete Criteria Success (KKM). So it meant that the use of English Pop Song was significant to enhance students’ listening ability.

AbstractThe main objective of this research is to improve the eighth graders’ reading comprehension through Jigsaw technique at SMP 1 PSKD. This research is a classroom action research in two cycles. The research was done on April 12th, 2016 until May 24th, 2016. The subject of the research was the students of VIII class at SMP 1 PSKD. There were 27 students (13 males and 14 females). The instruments of the test are pre-test and post-test. The non instruments test are observation sheets, interview, and researcher’s diary notes. The improvement of the eighth graders’ reading comprehension scores can be seen from the result of the pre-test and post-test. The average score of the students in the pre-test was 49.03 points and in cycle 1 the average score of the students was 65.78 points. So the increase between the two tests was 16.75 or 34.16%. In the cycle 2, the average of students’ score was 75.85 points. The result of the posttest 1 was 65.78 points, so the increase from post-test 1 in cycle 1 to post-test 2 in cycle 2 was 10.07 points or 15.75%. The improvement from pre-test to post-test 2 was 54.70%. In addition to the score increase, jigsaw technique can improve the students’ enthusiasm in learning reading comprehension. It can be seen from the result of the interview. The participants were interested in learning reading comprehension through jigsaw technique because jigsaw technique helped them in comprehending the text. This research was also supported by the result of researcher’s diary notes. The researcher’s diary notes shows that there were a positive changed from cycle 1 to cycle 2. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that jigsaw technique could improve the eighth graders’ reading comprehension at SMP 1 PSKD.   Keywords: jigsaw technique, reading comprehension

This study focused to improve Students’ Vocabulary Achievement by Applying Anagram PlusFlashcards. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of thisstudy was students in class VII-7 of SMP Negeri 7 Pematangsiantar. There were 32 studentstaken as the subject. The instrument for collecting data were the test for vocabulary and diarynotes, questionnaire sheets, observation sheet, and interview for process of teaching andlearning vocabulary. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result of the researchshowed that the mean of students’ score in pre-test was 56.41, the mean of students’ score inpost-test I was 69.22. The mean of students’ score in post-test II was 76.72. There wereimprovement of students’ achievement from 56.41-76.72 about 20.31 point and that score(76.72) was excelled the indicator (75). Based on diary notes, questionnaire sheets,observation sheet, and interview, it found that teaching and learning process ran well.Students were active, cooperative, enthusiastic and interested in learning vocabulary.There were 16 students (50%) agreed that the students active in learning process, 20students (62.5%) were interested, 20 students (62.5%) were enthusiastic and 19 students(59.37%) were agreed that strategy of learning was effective. It can be concluded that theapplication of anagram plus flashcards had successfully improved the students’ vocabularyachievement at the SMP Negeri 7 Pematangsiantar.

The objectives of the research were to find out whether snakes and ladders game can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery and to describe the class atmosphere when the snakes and ladders game is implemented in the class. The research was carried out at elementary school in  Karangmojo. The approach used in this research was a classroom action research. It was conducted from May 2014 to June 2014. The subject of the research was the fifth grade of an elementary school in Karangmojo in the academic year of 2013/2014. The researcher collected the data using qualitative and quantitative method. The result of this research showed that the use of snakes and ladders game could improve the students’ vocabulary mastery and class atmosphere. The improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery included; the students could understand the meaning of word, pronounce the words correctly,  spell the vocabulary correctly , and  use the words in appropriate context of situation. The improvement of class atmosphere included; the students’ interest toward the material increased, they were active during the lesson, and could work in group and individually. The students’ mean scores improved which could be seen from their mean score of pre-test (59.2), post-test 1 in cycle 1 (69.1), and also post-test 2 in cycle 2 (77.6).

This research is aimed at knowing whether students’ speaking ability can be improved  by using  Two Stay - Two Stray and  what  are the strengths and weaknesses of Two Stay - Two Stray   in   teaching speaking in the second semester students of FPBS IKIP Mataram in the academic years of 2013/2014. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is taken from Kemmis and McTanggart’s design; it consists of 2 cycles. Every cycle consists of four phases those are: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of this research is the students in IId of FPBS IKIP Mataram. Field note, questionnaire, and test are used in collecting the data. There are three tests used in this research, they are: pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2 with the standard of students’ successful was 65. The findings of the research showed that (1) The students’ speaking ability improved; (2) Related to the field note results showed that the students were more confident and enthusiast in speaking. It can be seen from their participation in the class, in the conversation, and their performance in group work; and (3) Related to the questionnaire result, it is proved that the response of the students toward Two Stay – Two Stray in teaching speaking is 96%.  Based on all those findings, it can be concluded that the application of Two Stay - Two Stray can improve the students’ speaking ability.

          The objective of this study was to improve the speaking ability of non-English department students of Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (UNSIKA)by using the shadowing technique. The method of this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) that was conducted to the  PJKR (Pendidikan Jasmani Kesehatan dan Rekreasi) students at second grade of UNSIKA. The subject of the research consists of twenty-five students. The instruments are spoken test and observation guidelines. The research design applied in this study was a collaborative classroom action research consisting of 2 cycles covering 3 meetings for each cycle. The findings of this study showed the improvement of the students’ speaking ability from the first to the second cycle has improved highly. Where the mean score of vocabulary terms was 2 for the pre-cycle test become 3.28 for the second cycle post-test. Besides that, the mean score of grammar in the pre-cycle test was 1.84 increase 3.08 in the second cycle post-test. Same as the pronunciation term, the student's scores from the pre-cycle test to the second cycle test came up from  1.96  to  3.04.  Furthermore, for the students speaking accuracy and fluency, their score also increase from 1.44 became 2.92. This research was successful to improve the students speaking ability by using the shadowing technique.

This study is aimed to improve the students’ vocabulary acquisition through derivational suffixes strategy. The subject of this study is the students of Class IX-1 of SMP Santo Petrus Medan in the academic year of 2017/2018. This study is conducted by applying Classroom Action Research (CAR), which have been conducted in two cycles (cycle 1 and cycle 2) and each cycle consisted of four meetings. The results of vocabulary test shows that the progressing mean score of the pretest is 34.66, post test in cycle 1 is 93.46, and post test in cycle 2 is 97.33. In cycle 1, the comparison percentage of nominal is 88.83%, verbal is 77.46%, adjectival is 40.74%, and adverbial is 84.14%. In cycle 2, the comparison percentage of nominal is 100%, verbal is 95.45%, adjectival is 65.84%, and adverbial is 94.91%. The percentage of the students who pass Minimal Criterion Mastery in each cycle is 100%, with the improvement 169.64% in cycle 1 to 180.81% in cycle 2. These indicate that there is a significant improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery through affixation strategy of Class IX-1 of SMP Santo Petrus Medan in the academic year of 2017/2018.

This study was aimed to determine: 1) application of decision making learning model in class XI MA  at  Daar El- Istiqomah Sukawana, Serang city of Banten, academic year  2016/2017.  2) The improvement of the results of accounting learning by applying decision making learning model on the subject matter of Recording Transactions/ Documents into General Jurnal in class XI MA  at Daar El-Istiqomah, Sukawana, Serang - Banten City  in academic year  2016/2017.This research was a classroom action research (CAR). The research used two cycles and each cycle consisted of four steps. The subjects in this study was class XI in MA Daar El-Istiqomah Sukawana, Serang - Banten, that consist of 25 students. The object of  this research was an implementation of decision making learning model.The results showed that the implementation of decision making learning model could be increased teacher and students activity. It could be seen that there were an increasing activity from cycle 1 to cycle 2. On cycle I, based on teacher observation, the activity reached 58% and in cycle II  reached 88% . Students learning outcomes based on average pre test reached 45. While the post test on cycle 1 by applying the Decision Making learning model has increased 71.4, and the average in post test on cycle II increased quite significant than in cycle 1 that is 80,8.
