Use of social media creates positive or negative impacts on adolescents. There are a number of factors enabling adolescents to make use of social media positively. One of the factors studied in this research is the adolescent worldview. The adolescent worldview greatly determines the way she behaves and her attitude towards social media. The result of this research shows that adolescent worldview may release and enables her to reject negative impacts of social media, particularly from modern culturalisms as relativism, individualism, emotionalism, presentism (present-time ism), materialism, autonomy, victimism, and turn it into a positive impact on herself. Worldviews may be differentiated based on three categories namely religion, spirituality and secularity. This research is conducted by explorative-qualitative approach, using case study research method. Data collection process was conducted by in-depth interview with late adolescents.

This study aims to explain the role of Social Media "Facebook" and its impacts ahead of the elections of regional heads in 2017 in Aceh Jaya district. Data required in this study was obtained through literature and field research. The research literature is done by reading textbooks, legislation, and other reading materials related to this research. While the field research conducted by interviewing informants. The results showed that social media "Facebook" very effective way of delivering a variety of things including the introduction of a track record as well as the vision and mission of the future leaders of Aceh Jaya fore. Campaigns that use social networking "Facebook" more influential than campaigns that are only focused on the delivery of any information or content (in the sense of simply using billboard and his card only). In the use of social media "Facebook" there are various impacts. There are two impacts: the effect of positive and negative impacts. The positive impact of the using social media "Facebook" in the election of Aceh Jaya, namely (1) the establishment of kinship fellow Team (timses) of each candidate, (2) can foster public participation in politics (3) provides information on the dynamics of the election in Aceh Jaya (4) to introduce the candidates (5) to introduce the vision and mission of the candidates. The use of social media is increasing in society. This increase is motivated by the need for social interaction and other activities that require effective and fast paced delivery. Social media is also used to support business needs in integrated marketing. The economic benefits of social media are important to understand so that people can optimally use social media to create economic opportunities. Other than the positive impact, social media can also have negative impacts. In this regard, social media has become an interesting topic in community service activities at the Youth Organizations in Panyirapan Village, Serang Regency. Although Karang Taruna members have used social media a lot, they still have not understood the positive and negative impacts of social media in detail. Therefore, introducing social media to this community is important to provide an understanding of the positive and negative impacts of social media and the economic opportunities of social media. This includes initial coordination, the formation of a Whatsapp group to facilitate communication between the team and participants, pretest, counseling, and observation. The community were taught about the definition, form, impact, and economic opportunities of social media. The outreach activities ran smoothly, and the participants were interested in the business opportunities that could be obtained from the use of social media. The participants were also interested in knowing more about strategies in using social media to create further economic opportunities. From the results of the activity, our team thinks that public understanding regarding the use and utilization of social media is still at the basic stage. Abstrak Penggunaan media sosial semakin meningkat di masyarakat. Peningkatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan akan interaksi sosial serta kegiatan lain yang membutuhkan kecepatan maupun efesiensi. Media sosial juga digunakan untuk menunjang kebutuhan usaha dalam pemasaran terpadu. Manfaat ekonomi dari media sosial menjadi penting untuk dipahami sehingga masyarakat dapat secara optimal menggunakan media sosial untuk menciptakan peluang ekonomi. Di samping dampak positif ternyata media sosial juga dapat memberikan dampak negatif. Terkait dengan hal ini, media sosial menjadi topik menarik dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Karang Taruna Desa Panyirapan, Kabupaten Serang.  Meskipun para anggota Karang Taruna sudah banyak menggunakan media sosial tetapi belum memahami dampak positif maupun dampak negatif dari media sosial secara detail. Oleh karena itu, pengabdian masyarakat terkait pengenalan media sosial menjadi penting untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang dampak positif dan negatif media sosial serta peluang ekonomi dari media sosial. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan meliputi koordinasi awal, pembentukan grup Whatsapp untuk mempermudah komunikasi antara tim dengan peserta, pretest, penyuluhan serta observasi. Penyuluhan yang dilaksanakan dimulai dari definisi, bentuk, dampak serta peluang ekonomi dari media sosial. Kegiatan penyuluhan berjalan lancar dan para peserta tertarik dengan peluang bisnis yang bisa didapatkan dari penggunaan media sosial. Para peserta kegiatan juga tertarik untuk mengetahui lebih lanjut tentang strategi pemanfaatan media sosial dalam menciptakan peluang ekonomi lebih lanjut. Dari hasil kegiatan, tim pengabdi berpendapat bahwa pemahaman masyarakat terkait penggunaan dan pemanfaatan media sosial masih ada dalam tahap dasar. Penggunaan media sosial sosial telah merambah ke semua lini layanan kehidupan masyarakat, termasuk di instansi pemerintah. Media sosial digunakan untuk mendukung implementasi program dan kegiatan di instansi pemerintah, yang kemudian berdampak pada kinerja individu di dalamnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi secara empiris dampak penggunaan media sosial terhadap kinerja individu di Dinas Pertanian dan Pangan Kota Magelang.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara kepada 40 (empat puluh) karyawan di Dinas Pertanian dan Pangan Kota Magelang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi media sosial memiliki dampak positif pada peningkatan kinerja individu di Dinas Pertanian dan Pangan, yaitu sebagaimedia komunikasi (koordinasi) dan tempat untuk berbagi informasi secara aktual. Sementara beberapa dampak negatif penggunaan media sosial yang perlu diantisipasi berupa konsentrasi karyawan yang berkurang sehingga dapat menyebabkan keterlambatan pada penyelesaian pekerjaanThe use of social social media has penetrated into all lines of life services, including at government offices. Social media are used to support the implementation of programs and activities in government offices, which then have an impact on the performance of individuals in it. This studyaims to identify empirically the impact of the use of social media on the performance of individuals in Agriculture and Food Office, Magelang. This research uses descriptive analysis method. Data is collected by filling in questionnaires and interviewing with 40 (forty) officer in the Agriculture andFood Office. Research shows that the application of social media has a positive impact on improving the performance of individuals in Agriculture and Food Office, namely as a medium of communication (coordination) and a place to share information actually. While some negative impacts that need to be anticipated include reducing the concentration that can cause delay incompletion of work.

The rise of promotions and buying-selling through internet where social media has become one of the media, it has many positive impacts, such as buying-selling transactions have become easier. Meanwhile, it has negative impacts too, such as fraud and others, this makes researchers interested in researching how clothing traders on the Sudimampir market, Banjarmasin utilizes media as a promotion in order to be able to compete and increase their sales. This research aims to find out how the use of social media in clothing in Sudimampir market, as well as the obstacles that faced when using social media as a means of promotion.The researcher used field research, which is descriptive qualitative by conducting in-depth interviews and then the results can be summarized. The informants in this study were 15 people, all of whom were clothing traders who were selling in the Sudimampir market.The results of this study indicate that the use of social media as a promotion of clothing Sudimampir market using several social media such as: WA (Whatsapp), BBM (Blackberry Messenger), FB (Facebook). Those social media used as a means for ordering, Facebook and Instagram used for uploading photos of the items they sell. Those social media give a positive impact, namely their sales have increased which is in accordance with the function of social media in trading, which can increase sales.

The use of social media among tertiary institution students has been the concern of scholars within the education realm in respect of the influence on academic performance. While some have found positive impact, others have recorded negative or neutral. However, specific attention has not been given education students who are the potential builders of up-coming generation on their views in relation to the influence on academic performance. This study therefore investigated the perceived influence of the use of social media on students’ academic performance. The study adopted a descriptive survey design by randomly selecting 297 undergraduate education students of Osun State University from 2nd, 3rd and final year students.  The instrument used for data collection is a self-developed questionnaire titled ‘Influence of Social Media on Academic Performance’. One research question and two hypotheses were generated for the study. Data were analysed using simple percentage and frequency count aspect of descriptive statistics, t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the use of social media has both positive and negative influence on academic performance. The study also revealed no bias in the view of the respondents based on gender and number of years spent as students in the university. The researcher therefore recommends the need to educate students on the educational benefits of social media, guide the students on how to use social media to enhance learning coupled with the incorporation of social media as instructional strategy in the school curriculum. The author examines the positive and negative effects of social media on the moral education of children in school SMPN 2 class VIII Banda Aceh, it is very interesting because of the many children who abuse social media. This work analyzes about the use of social media that have an impact on the moral education of children. The data collected in this study through the work of other literature, researchers also interviewed principals and students as many as 16 students as well as the observation at the school. Based on the analysis that has been done it can be seen the positive and negative impacts of the use of social media to the moral education of children. The positive impact on the social development of the media on moral education of children among children can adapt, socialize with the public and manage a network of friends, and make children easier to accomplish these tasks, while the negative impact of the development of social media to the moral education of children very much of them can make the omission in children so that children are less disciplined and be lazy, makes children easy to cheat the works of others, disrespectful both in dress and speech, often quarrel due to scenes that are as dangerous as scenes of pornography, violence, wars and so forth , as well as making children miss school because they feel more comfortable in the cafe of the study at the school, not only that social media also makes children spend pocket money a child so that the child took the money her parents secretly to access the internet cafe. Therefore, social media can lead education of children.

Social media has became one of the marketing strategies by most of the companies to deliver their brands, products and services to customer. Apart from the advantages of the use of social media for companies, it is becoming difficult for companies to raise awareness for their brand beause of the competition. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of social media on brand awareness of Amaris Hotel. The results of this research obtained from questionnaires that had been distributed to the respondents in Jakarta and processed with correlation method. The results shows that social media gives quite big and positive impact on building and estabilishing brand awareness of AYANA Amaris Hotel for 41,5%, and Instagram gives the biggest impact on brand awareness of Amaris Hotel. The level of brand awareness of Amaris Hotel has reached the highest level, Top of Mind level. Keywords: Social Media, Brand Awareness, Marketing, Amaris Hotel

Land managers are currently faced with a nexus of challenges, both ecological and social, when trying to govern natural open spaces. While social media has led to many challenges for effective land management and governance, the technology has the potential to support key activities related to habitat restoration, awareness-raising for policy changes, and increased community resilience as the impacts of increased use and climate change become more apparent. Through the use of a case study examining the work of the Central Arizona Conservation Alliance’s social media ambassadorship and its app-supported community science projects, we examine the potential and realized positive impact that technology such as social media and smartphone apps can create for land managers and surrounding communities.
