This article attempts to analyze Comparative Studies in Aesop’s The Lion and The Mouse and The Fox and The Cat that uses comparative studies to find differences and similarities of resolution in Aesop’s The Lion and The Mouse and The Fox and The Cat.This article uses resolution concepts that two stories have collective unconsciousness that little friends may prove great friends. This article uses comparative studies to find resolution in Aesop’s The Lion and The Mouse and The Fox and The Cat.The study aims at comparing two different literary works that describe how the two main characters from the two stories face complication and achieve resolution.The results of this article can be formulated as follows: 1) Resolution concepts can be seen in Aesop’s The Lion and The Mouse and The Fox and The Cat because they can solve their complications. The two main characters of two stories face complication when they meet a hunter, their friends come to solve complication.2) Aesop’s The Lion and The Mouse and The Fox and The Cat have similarities and differences. The similarities of the two stories are the two main characters faces complication because of hunter, themes of the two stories are friendship. Aesop’s The Lion and The Mouse and The Fox and The Cat achieve resolution by attendance of their friends. The differences of two stories are the way of the two main characters to meet a hunter. In Aesop’s The Lion and The Mouse, The lion can escape from hunter because of the mouse’s help as his friend.In Aesop’s The Fox and The Cat, a cat can escape from hunter because the cat does not follow  a fox’s suggestion because his the fox has a hundred safe way from hunter but he cannot save his life from huntsmen.

This article attempts to analyze archetype in Grimm’s Cinderella and Rapunzel that uses comparative studies to find differences and similarities of archetype in Grimm’s Cinderella and Rapunzel. This article uses archetype concepts that two stories have collective unconsciousness that love can solve problem. This article uses comparative studies to find archetype in Grimm’s Cinderella and Rapunzel. The study aims at comparing two different literary works. The results of this article can be formulated as follows: 1) Archetype concepts can be seen in Grimm’s Cinderella and Rapunzel because they have same characters types and themes. The two main characters of two stories face complication from harsh condition but after meeting a prince, their life change better. The themes of two stories are love. 2) Archetype in Grimm’s Cinderella and Rapunzel have similarities and differences. The similarities of the two stories are the two main characters faces complication because of bad women, themes of the two stories are love. Archetype in Grimm’s Cinderella and Rapunzel get resolution by marrying a prince. The differences of two stories are the way of the two main characters to meet a prince. In Cinderella comes to the prince party with fairy’s help and leaves her shoes that lead to prince meets and marries her. In Grimm’s Rapunzel, she meets a prince in a tower by using her long hair.    Keywords: Archetype, Collective unconsciousness, Comparative Studies.

Some of the best literary works around the world are very good to learn, such as a poem “Ode on a Grecian Urn” by John Keats which is phenomenal by the quote “Beauty is truth, truth beauty”, and in prose, the work from Kate Chopin entitled The Awakening which is also phenomenal by the way the story ends. By using the theory of comparative literature, this study aims to describe the intense feeling of two different kinds of literary work by depicting their similarities and differences. The analysis shows that those works provide the description of different feeling delivered by each author. Keats presents the poetry in romantic mood, full of cheers and energy, although it serves momento mori. While Chopin presents the prose in elegiac or tragic mood. Those feeling are depicted throughout the way both authors represent the values of their works. Three values which are depicted in its similarities and differences are; 1) the meaning of death, 2) nature attribute, and 3) revealing truth. The feelings shown in the both literary works are basically about the reality of life. The beauty, the truth, the life, and the death are enclosed into the social life experienced by the people in the world. Keywords: comparative literature, feeling, , values of literary works

The present study aims to analyze the way writers use language in order to fulfill a purpose by measuring the similarities and differences in editorials with regard to Theme and Rheme choices. Two letters of opinion of an editorial were used in this study to investigate the thematic choices that might differ, given their different purposes. The results indicated that the writers presented the information directly without emphasizing on any proposition encoded in the clauses. Besides, it was also found that the intervention made by the writers is less obvious, as measured by the low occurrences of Interpersonal Theme. In addition, it can also be concluded that the letter of support is more cohesive than the letter of oppose because of its higher occurrences of Textual Theme. The story of Lot is one of many shared by the Qur'an and the Torah, and Lot's offer of his two daughters to his people is presented in a similar way in the two books. This article compares the status of Lot in the Qur'an and Torah, and explores the moral dimensions of his character, and what scholars of the two religions make of this story. The significance of the episodes in which Lot offers his daughters to his people lies in the similarities and differences of the accounts given in the two books and the fact that, in both the past and the present, this story has presented moral problems and criticism has been leveled at Lot. Context is crucial in understanding this story, and exploration of the ways in which Lot and his people are presented is also useful in terms of comparative studies of the two scriptures. This article is divided into three sections: the first explores the depiction of Lot in the two texts, the second explores his moral limitations, and the third discusses the interpretations of various exegetes and scholars of the two books. Although there are similarities between the Qur'anic and Talmudic accounts of this episode, it is read differently by scholars from the two religions because of the different contexts of the respective accounts.

Most of traditional Muslim exegetes interpret Q. 4:34 in terms of maintaining the superiority of men over women. Some progressive Muslim scholars then insist a contextual approach to the verse to criticize gender inequality. Among some progressive Muslim scholars, this article comparatively examines the interpretations of Amina Wadud and Mohammed Talbi of Q. 4:34. Although both of them propose a contextual reading of the verse, they have different intellectual background, approach and method in interpreting the Qur’ān. The questions are to what extent the similarities and differences of both Wadud’s and Talbi’s interpretation of Q. 4:34 and how far their interpretations reflect their respective intention and perspective? Applying Gadamer’s hermeneutical approach, the article concludes that [1] Both Wadud and Talbi argue that the verse does not establish the superiority of men over women, but acknowledges duties division among married couple; [2] the difference among their interpretations is on the status of relationship among married couple; [3] Wadud’s and Talbi’s interpretations represent their respective hermeneutical situations and the way they define ontologically the nature of  interpretation and Qur’anic hermeneutics affect on producing the meanings of the verse.

Comparative cross-cultural studies represent a great opportunity for delineating risk factors for the dementias by providing a much wider diversity of both environmental exposures and genetic variation than studies within industrialized countries. Similarly, studies of the behavioral disturbances of dementia that allow for identification of similarities and differences may be useful both in understanding the etiology of these disorders and in determining the best approach to management. So far, few such comparative studies exist.

Abstract In the last few years, there has been a visible change in the structure of the fuel station market in both Poland and the United Kingdom. The changes taking place both in the fuel station market structure and the management forms of fuel stations, along with the increasing significance of convenience goods sales, result in the necessity of verifying the existing Polish valuation standards of the income approach. Moreover, there is an urgent need to develop specific fuel station valuation guidelines. Fuel station valuation requires both the specific approach and profits method adjustment to be able to account for the specificity of the valuation. The universal character of property valuation in Poland cannot result in ignoring the specificity of fuel station valuation and the market where it operates. Property valuers undertaking valuations of this type of facilities must be familiar with the rules operating on the fuel station market. This paper focuses on the comparison analysis of the fuel station market structure in Poland and the United Kingdom along with the specificity of the way fuel stations operate. Its emphasis is on the comparison analysis of fuel station valuation methods under Polish and RICS standards in order to show their similarities and differences. The aim of the paper is to present the methods of fuel station valuation in Poland and the United Kingdom, though mainly to show the areas of changes in the Polish valuation standards with regards to the profits method under the income approach that would take into account the specificity of fuel stations and their market.

Imagology is a branch of comparative literature which explores the image of one nation in the literature of another nation. One Thousand Nights and One Night is among the important books which can show the image of different nations and people such as Indians, Iranians and Arabs. Since the oldest version of the book is in Arabic, it is considered an Arabic literary work though it was translated from a Persian tale in the first place. On this basis the study of the image of Iranians in One Thousand Nights and One Night can be included under the definition of imagology. In this article, first we explain, analyze and study the image of Iranians in the book One Thousand Nights and One Night with respect to 1. anthropology (including entertainments, personification of animals, disapprobation of lies and betrayal of spouses), 2. religious and mythical beliefs (including the belief in daevas and jinnis, magic, fire-worshipping and similar plots), 3. politics (emphasizing the position of vizier and his family in government), 4. economics (emphasizing economic prosperity), then we will compare the collected information with the image of Iranians in credited works and in this way we will identify the similarities and differences of Iranians’ image in One Thousand Nights and One Night and the above-said literary works. Finally we come to this conclusion that the similarities belong to the real image of Iranians in the pre-Islamic days and that differences show the image of post-Islamic Iran which is added through Arabic translation.

Literary works are never separated from previous works or other texts. “Aku Dipenogoro!” is a literary work in the form of a drama script written by Landung Simatupang which was inspired by the power of divination by Peter Carey. The process of forming a literary work based on the acceptance of the past works can be said to be a reception. Therefore, this study used a reception approach to see how far the acceptance of previous works in Aku Dipenogoro!. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. In this case, the researcher compares the texts by looking at the similarities and differences. Furthermore, the findings are described. Based on the results of the analysis conducted by Aku Dipenogoro! as a literary work made several changes from the previous work (Peter Carey's Power of Prediction). These changes are used to give a dramatic effect in the work. Improvisation is used to get certain effects and aesthetics in a work. As a drama script Aku Dipenogoro! refers to dramatic effects in the performing arts (theater).

Suele asumirse que la noción de persona es igual entre los pueblos de tsotsiles y tesltales de los Altos de Chiapas. Sin embargo, su configuración varía sustancialmente, sin perder la base que los une. Este trabajo trata sobre las diferencias y similitudes que se presentan en el concepto denominado complejo persona en tres municipios: Oxchuc —de habla tseltal—, Chamula y Chenalhó —de habla tsotsil—, y en forma destacada sobre la importancia del cuerpo en dicho concepto. Asimismo, se abordan las variaciones que se han suscitado en torno a esa noción a partir de 1940, bajo la incidencia de la escalada proselitista cristiana. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE BODY WITHIN THE COMPLEX OF THE NOTION OF PERSONHOOD AMONG CONTEMPORARY MAYANS FROM OXCHUC, CHAMULA AND CHENALHÓ IN CHIAPAS STATE There is a tendency to assume that the Tsotsil and Tseltal communities in the Chiapas Highlands (Altos de Chiapas) share the same notion of personhood. However, the way this notion is constructed does vary substantially without losing a common foundation. This piece of research deals with the similarities and differences present in the concept of personhood complex in three different municipalities: Oxchuc —a tseltal-speaking community—, Chamula and Chenalhó —tsotsil-speaking communities—, and emphasizes the importance of the body in this concept. It also addresses the permutations that have emerged around this notion since 1940, under the escalating influence of Christian proselytism.
