A special place belongs to phraseological unity, capable of acting both as stable and as free phrases. Literature review. The use of such potentials as the basis of pictorial technique was considered by many linguists: V.V. Vinogradov, N.M. Shansky, A.I. Fedorov, D.N. Shmelev et al. The purpose of this article is a multifaceted analysis of the use of phraseological unit “to pull somebody’s leg” in fiction and journalistic texts of a number of Russian writers. Research results. On the example of the use of phraseological unity “to pull somebody’s leg” in a number of works, it is established that these phenomena are of an intertextual nature. It is advisable to consider specific phenomena related to this issue in a somewhat broader manner and in different aspects. Such an approach reveals not only a certain mutual similarity, but also the purely individual techniques of the original author, as well as the role of specific episodes in the explication of the probable intentions of the entire work as a whole. Conclusions. As a result of the study, there is noted the variability of the likely author’s intentions, the immanent pictorial potential of the phrase “to pull somebody’s leg”.

The role of personality –oriented and competence-based approaches in the system of additional vocational education is revealed and actualized, their individual elements, especially significant for research, are singled out. A special place in the structure of the study is occupied by the chosen key method – online questionnaire, which is based on data provided by more than 150 teachers of the systems of both higher professional and additional professional education. All of them are not geographically tied to one place, in connection with which one can judge the objectivity of their opinions, as well as the vast geography of the dissemination of the research results. This paper analyses the potential relation between IS reliability and organizational culture. Based on the literature review, the research gap is identified and hypotheses concerning the potential role of IS in shaping organizational culture are proposed. The community-oriented culture is suggested as a potential direction of culture reorganization. The hypotheses are verified based on the empirical research performed in 2017 in 400 organizations in Poland. The research results indeed confirmed that IS can be considered as one of the factors shaping organizational culture. However, the direction of its change appeared to be different than the one presented in the current literature

The relationships and interactions between universities and society that go beyond the teaching and research missions have been termed differently by various groups of scholars and in different countries and are more commonly known by the term “university extension”. The different views and interpretations of university missions relate to the development of the understanding of the role of this institution in society. In respect to this, the purpose of the article was to present, based on extensive literature review, the conceptualization of the main terms commonly used to express the university-society relations: third mission, outreach, extension, vinculación, engagement-community and civic. The research results allow us to conclude that the terms studied arise from very similar situations and purposes, namely: teaching and research missions and responsibilities of the university vis-à-vis new visions of the social pact or contract between academia, science and society.

The rise of e-commerce has brought considerable changes to the relationship between firms and consumers, especially within international business. Hence, understanding the use of such means for entering foreign markets has become critical for companies. However, the research on this issue is new and so it is important to evaluate what has been studied in the past. In this study, we conduct a systematic review of e-commerce and internationalisation studies to explicate how firms use e-commerce to enter new markets and to export. The studies are classified by theories and methods used in the literature. Moreover, we draw upon the internationalisation decision process (antecedents-modalities-consequences) to propose an integrative framework for understanding the role of e-commerce in internationalisation
