The study aimed to identify the relationship between parental upbringing, anxiety and aggressive behavior in a sample of students in the Intermediate stage in Al- Makhwah Governorate. To achieve the study objectives, the researcher used the descriptive approach with its correlation form. The study relied on three tools: the parental upbringing scale (By Atwi, 2006) Anxiety (By: Al- Qarni, 1435 H), and the measure of aggressive behavior (By: Zahrani, 1436 H), The study population was composed from Intermediate school students in Al- Mahwah Governorate which was (3259) student, while the sample was randomly selected. The number of students was 327. The study found that: the most preferred method of parenting in (father's form) were the authoritarian pattern, followed by the pattern of neglect and finally the democratic pattern, while the most favored in (mother's form) were the democratic pattern followed by the authoritarian pattern, and finally the pattern of neglect. Also, the results showed that there was a statistically significant correlative relationship at (α 0.05)between the dimensions of the parenting scale and the anxiety scale except after the democratic pattern in (father's form), also there was a statistically significant relation at (α 0.05)between the dominant pattern and all areas of the anxiety scale except the mental side (mother's form), There was a statistically significant relationship at (α 0.05)between the pattern of neglect in (father and mother form) and the domains of the anxiety scale except Cognitive and mental side, The results showed that there was a statistically significant correlation at (α 0.05)between the absolute pattern of the parenting method and the aggressive behavior measure (father / mother). The study recommended focusing on the use of the father and mother for guidance and guidance in dealing with children, using the pattern of democratic treatment and engaging in meaningful discussions with them about their concerns. And all related to their daily lives to find a strong moral and intellectual link between them and their parents to spare them mental disorders related to anxiety and aggressive behavior, as well as activate the role of guidance and guidance programs for parents and their children in schools, and try to discuss their problems through them.

Previous studies have found some risk factors of cyberbullying. However, little is known about how mother phubbing may influence adolescent cyberbullying, and the mediating and moderating mechanisms underlying this relationship. “Phubbing,” which is a portmanteau of “phone” and “subbing,” refers to snubbing other people and focus on smartphones in social interactions. This study examined whether mother phubbing, which refers to being phubbed by one’s mother, would be positively related to adolescent cyberbullying, whether perceived mother acceptance would mediate the relationship between mother phubbing and adolescent cyberbullying, and whether emotional stability would moderate the pathways between mother phubbing and adolescent cyberbullying. The sample consisted of 4,213 Chinese senior high school students (mean age 16.41 years, SD = 0.77, 53% were female). Participants completed measurements regarding mother phubbing, cyberbullying, perceived mother acceptance, and emotional stability. The results indicated that mother phubbing was positively related to cyberbullying, which was mediated by perceived mother acceptance. Further, moderated mediation analyses showed that emotional stability moderated the direct path between mother phubbing and cyberbullying and the indirect path between mother phubbing and perceived mother acceptance. This study highlighted the harmful impact of mother phubbing on adolescents by showing a positive association between mother phubbing and adolescent cyberbullying, as well as the underlying mechanisms between mother phubbing and adolescent cyberbullying.

Canada’s high school graduation rates are still low when compared to other members of the OECD. Previous studies have found academic involvement is associated with positive trajectories toward graduation, that social support promotes student engagement, and that school belonging could mediate this relationship. Still, little is known about the specificity of such mediation, especially in Québec. Therefore, this study examined the role of belonging as mediator of the relationship between social support and academic involvement. Participants ( N = 238) were high-school students from the Greater Montréal Area. All variables were measured by the School-Climate Questionnaire. Results from hierarchical multiple regressions indicated parental support had a direct relationship, whereas peer and teacher support had a mediated relationship by school belonging with academic involvement. Results highlight the critical role of school belonging in promoting academic involvement in relation to social support.

This study aimed for using flipped classroom to develop scientific communication and the attitude towards technology acceptance in science learning among intermediate school students. For this purpose, the quasi-experimental design with the experimental and the control group method was used. The sample involved (49) third intermediate stage students from two different schools in Wadi Al-Dawasir Governorate, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A list of written scientific communication levels suitable for intermediate school students and a procedural model for learning with flipped classes were presented. The study applied the scientific communication test and the technology acceptance in the science learning scale. The statistical analyses revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the means of the scores of the experimental and control group students in the scientific communication scale and the technology acceptance in the science learning scale in favor of the experimental group. Recommendations and suggestions were presented.

I examined the relationships among private tutoring in mathematics, self-study, and academic achievement, in particular, the potential mediating role of self-study in the relationship between private tutoring and academic achievement. The responses of 3,689 Korean middle school students were analyzed. Results showed that private tutoring time positively predicted self-study time and academic achievement. Number of hours of self-study also predicted academic achievement and mediated the relationship between private tutoring and academic achievement. These findings showed that private tutoring increased the time students spent on self-study rather than replacing it. In addition, the positive effect of private tutoring on academic achievement was mediated by increased self-study time. Practical and theoretical implications are discussed.

Aggressive behavior in adolescence is influenced by a diversity of individual, family and social variables. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between family functioning, emotional intelligence and values for development of different types of aggression, as well as to establish profiles according to the predictor variables of aggression. To do this, a sample of 317 high school students aged 13 to 18 were administered the Peer Conflict Scale, the Family Functionality Scale, the Brief Emotional Intelligence Inventory for Senior Citizens and the Values for Adolescent Development Scales. The study showed that stress management, positive adolescent development and family functioning predominated in nonaggressive subjects with higher scores than aggressors. There was also a negative relationship between the different types of aggression and emotional intelligence, positive values and family functioning. In addition, two different profiles were found. The first had low scores on all the variables, while the second profile had higher scores on all the variables except family functioning which was higher.

To explore the relationship and mechanism of school loose-tight culture to middle school bullying, a total of 808 students were selected from three middle schools in Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province of China, to conduct a questionnaire survey. The study used the school loose-tight culture scale, the collective moral disengagement scale, the collective efficacy scale, and the bullying scale for middle school students. The results showed that (i) school loose-tight culture significantly predicted the occurrence of school bullying; (ii) school loose-tight culture was significantly negatively correlated with collective moral disengagement and school bullying but positively correlated with collective efficacy. Further, collective moral disengagement was significantly positively correlated with school bullying, but collective efficacy was significantly negatively correlated with school bullying; (iii) school loose-tight culture inhibited school bullying through the dual mediating effects of collective moral disengagement and collective efficacy at the same time.

Background: Vitamin D deficiency is a worldwide health issue and its role as an immune modulator has recently been emphasized. Evidence increasingly indicates the important role of vitamin D in reducing the incidence of autoimmune diseases. However, at this time the search for its role in autoimmune diseases and thyroid is not critical. Objectives: The study aimed to assess the relationship between vitamin D deficiency in Sudanese patients with hypothyroidism. Methods: Analytical case control hospital based study, conducted in Fadil Hospital and Police Hospital, Khartoum city, Khartoum state. The study carried out from March 2018 to September 2018. A total of 100 subjects were enrolled in the study. Vitamin D deficiency was set at levels below 20 ng / ml. Thyroid hormones (TSH, T3 and T4) were assessed in all participants using auto analyzer TOSOH AIA 313,while vitamin D was estimated using ELIZA. The data were analyzed using SPSS version (21). Results: The study included 76(76%) females and 24(24%) males, no significance differences between thyroid profile among study population.75 (75%) deficiency of vitamin D and 25(25%) normal vitamin D. vitamin D deficiency was significantly lower in female than male with( p =0.001). Conclusion: The results indicated that patients with hypothyroidism suffer from vitamin D deficiency significantly associated with the degree and severity of hypothyroidism. This encourages the desirability of vitamin D supplementation and recommends the detection of vitamin D deficiency for all hypothyroidism patients.

Abstract Background Patients with breast cancer often exhibit high levels of anxiety and depression and a considerable decrease in their ability to participate in leisure activities, which result in the long-term disruption of their daily lives. This study intended to explore the relationships among anxiety, leisure constraints, and depression and evaluate whether depression mediates the effects of anxiety on leisure constraints in patients with breast cancer. Method This prospective study included 106 patients with breast cancer. All the patients completed the Taiwanese version of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and Leisure constraints questionnaire. Path analysis was used to test the mediating role of depression. Results Leisure constraints, anxiety, and depression were positively interrelated and co-occurred in the patients. The accelerated bootstrapping confidence intervals of the indirect effect did not include zero (0.276–1.663). Moreover, depression completely mediated the effects of anxiety on leisure constraints in patients with earlier cancer stages but not in patients with advanced cancer stages. Conclusions Depression is a crucial mechanism underlying the relationship between anxiety and leisure constraints in patients with breast cancer. Although many patients experience minimal disruption of activities and roles during survivorship, they are unable to perform functional activities and satisfactorily play their roles. This is the first study to explore leisure constraints in patients with breast cancer and investigate the mediating role of depression that underlies the relationship between anxiety and leisure constraints. The current findings are clinically crucial because they suggest the need to consider the simultaneous management of anxiety and depression for alleviating leisure constraints.

Computational Thinking (CT) and creativity are considered two vital skills for the 21st century that should be incorporated into future curricula around the world. We studied the relationship between these two constructs while focusing on learners’ personal characteristics. Two types of creativity were examined: creative thinking and computational creativity. The research was conducted among 174 middle school students from Spain. Data collected using a standardized creativity test (Torrance's TTCT) were triangulated with data drawn from students' log files that documented their activity in a game-based learning environment for CT (Kodetu). We found some interesting associations between CT and the two constructs of creativity. These associations shed light on positive associations between each of the two creativity constructs and CT acquisition, as well as between the two creativity constructs themselves. Additionally, we highlight differences between boys and girls, as girls were found to be more creative on both creativity measures. Other differences associated with school affiliation, prior coding knowledge, and technology affinity are also discussed.
