AbstractA tendency in psychodrama research is the focus on proving effectiveness. This article in the Zeitschrift für Psychodrama und Soziometrie aims to propose arts-based research (ABR) methodology through a theoretical approach by a brief literature review of psychodrama research, a glimpse into discourses in applied theatre research and an introduction to arts-based research (ABR) methodology. How moments of participation and self-identified significant experiences by the participants from a psychodrama group can be investigated through ABR methodology will be exemplified through performative inquiry (Fels 2012), inspired by poetic inquiry (Faulkner 2018). In this way, the article aims to shed light on the question: How might arts-based research methodology in combination with qualitative research methodology contribute to the psychodrama research field? The article also presents empirical and ontological perspectives relating to the pilot study and give a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of applying ABR methodology exemplified in the article. This way, the paper aims to illuminate how ABR methodologies can be applied together with qualitative research methodology to contribute to psychodrama research.

This article aims to evaluate the resources and capabilities in insular regions, and also to understand how value creation and commercialization take place in the existing ecosystems. A qualitative research methodology was followed through a case study, incorporating interviews with incubators managers of the insular regions of Portugal (Azores and Madeira). The results show some difficulties as a result of the ecosystem's insularity. To shorten the insular regions dissymmetry compared to other non-insular regions, a new model is proposed to help these regions overcome their economic and social problems.

Qualitative research methodology courses become a provision for postgraduate students to carry out research, as one of the three obligations of college. The course is a new subject and most students had never practiced it and had never been familiar with the concepts. The aims of  the study is to analyzed the causes of learning difficulties and solutions carried out by students and by lecturers in qualitative research methodology courses. This study used a qualitative research approach with a case study design. Data were obtained from questionnaires and interviews with 20 postgraduate students of biology education, Universitas Negeri Malang. Data processing consists of: data reduction, data presentation, and making conclusions. The students experienced main problems in understanding the teaching materials used because it was written in English and the methods in various qualitative studies tend to be similar so causing confusion. Various solutions are carried out by students, for example: conducting discussions, compiling concept maps, and conducting qualitative research practices. Supporting lecturers have main difficulty in assessment. Lecturers take advantage of online media to facilitate assessment. The findings of this study provided alternative solutions for lecturers and students who take qualitative research methodology courses in order to minimize the constraints.

The article takes up the topic of religious insider and outsider research and looks especially at the issue of advantages and disadvantages of being a religious insider doing qualitative research in religious communities similar to one’s own. As a case study serves my personal experience of being a convert Muslim woman doing research among Islamic communities in Indonesia. During research, I came to understand that the plurality of different Islamic practices found in Indonesia makes it difficult to become a ’true’ and ‘complete‘ insider to this variety of Islamic teachings and practices. My main argument is that, at least in the Indonesian context, it is impossible to be a complete religious insider to each aspect of the plurality of Islamic practices despite being an insider to Islam, a Muslim. This in turn leads me to discuss advantages and disadvanatges of being a religious insider. Keywords: Muslim Researcher, Research Methodology, Research in Indonesia, Qualitative Research, Southeast Asia, Islam. Abstract: Introducing, Disney has great potential, since its inception in the 1920s, to transmit ideological and doctrinal messages about people who consume its feature films, generally in childhood. Among the plurality of ideas, the Manichean mentality that builds society based on the goodness-badness binomial stands out, denying behaviors intermediate to this duality in daily life; using the image as a visual communication resource. This appears as a constant in the evil figures that it designs for its feature films and is related to the concept of aesthetics, that is, the appearance that this group of figures presents in relation to the term evil. Specifically, using a qualitative research methodology, Image-Based Research (IBI), the objective is to know what are the biased messages that Disney disperses in society and establishes as absolute truths in 4 groups of vile drawings: main, secondary and helpers from each sector (lackeys of main evil figures and minions of secondary evil figures). This group is in a set of 60 animated feature films called "The classics" that is temporarily located between 1937 and 2016. An analysis of aesthetics focused on: physiognomy, color, condition and the capacity for metamorphosis is specified. However, a quantification of the results is used to compare them in the results and thus establish conclusions with figures who exercise the evil in the selected sample. These show that the Manichean construction of the figures is more severe in images that perform a main evil role.  Keywords: aesthetics, Disney, evil figure, animated cinema, childhood.
