A scalable access to functionalized 1,1’- and 1,2-ferrocenyl azides has been realized in flow. By halogen‒lithium exchange of ferrocenyl halides and subsequent reaction with tosyl azide, a variety of functionalized ferrocenyl azides was obtained in high yields. To allow a scalable preparation of these potentially explosive compounds, an efficient flow protocol was developed accelerating the reaction time to minutes and circumventing accumulation of potentially hazardous intermediates. Switching from homogeneous to triphasic flow amidst process was key for handling a heterogeneous reaction mixture formed after a heated reactor section. The corresponding and synthetically versatile ferrocenyl amines were then prepared by a reliable reduction process.

A convenient synthesis of 1,5-fused 1,2,4-triazoles from readily available N-arylamidines is reported. The reaction is efficiently promoted by chloramine-T to afford the desired products mostly in high yields and in relatively short time, through direct metal-free oxidative N−N bond formation. The mild nature of the synthesis and short reaction time are notable advantages of the developed protocol. This protocol is effective toward various substrates having different functionalities.

A simple and eloquent procedure for the synthesis of a new series of thienyl benzo[b]1,4-diazepines is reported. They were synthesized by the condensation of o-phenylenediamine (o-PDA) with distinct hetero chalcones using NaOH in polyethylene glycol (PEG-400) as green and alternative reaction solvent. The significances of this present method are shorter reaction time, easy work-up, high yields, and mild reaction conditions. Furthermore, this method is environment friendly and without use of an expensive catalyst. The all newly synthesized compounds are characterized by the spectroscopic methods.

AbstractRecently magnetic nanocatalyst has attracted considerable attention because of its unique properties, including high performance, easy separation from the reaction mixture, and recyclability. In this study, a novel magnetic bionanocomposite was synthesized with chitosan and tannic acid as a natural material. The synthesized bionanocatalyst was characterized by essential analysis. Fe3O4@chitosan-tannic acid as a heterogeneous nanocatalyst was successfully applied to synthesize pyranopyrazole and its derivatives by a one-pot four-component reaction of malononitrile, ethyl acetoacetate, hydrazine hydrate, and various aromatic aldehyde. At the end of the reaction, the nanocatalyst was separated from the reaction mixture and was reused several times with no significant decrease in its catalytic performance. Simple purification of products, the ability for recovering and reusing the nanocatalyst, eco-friendliness, high yields of pure products, mild reaction conditions, short reaction time, non-toxicity, economically affordable are some of the advantages of using the fabricated nanocatalyst in the synthesis of pyranopyrazole.
