The SARS CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus 2), cause of COVID-19 (CoronaVirus Disease 2019) has afflicted close to 10 million people all over the world resulting to almost half a million deaths.  This disease is severely contagious and necessitates social or physical distancing between persons. As such, traditional face-to-face learning is not advised and teachers need to shift to online teaching.  There are challenges to online teaching and learning for students, teachers, and the higher education institute, e.g. hardware, bandwidth, and software issues. These will be difficult but these can be overcome eventually.  This work is a personal account of the old normal or traditional way of teaching Organic Chemistry and the transition to the new normal of teaching on-line.  On-line teaching can be as effective as traditional teaching but everyone has to put in effort and participate in training to get used to this. In the end, it is the teacher’s being a true teacher that matters, that the teacher teaches to the best of his or her ability even during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this article, we view epistemological access as organising systematic teaching and learning, and we focus on teaching and learning online during COVID-19 pandemic conditions in 2020. We used a Survey Monkey questionnaire with two universities in South Africa that moved their teaching and learning online to survey whether lecturers thought that the extent of epistemological access was affected when this happened. Our findings indicate that lecturers feel that the emergency teaching and learning did compromise their teaching, and, while most used existing face-to-face materials online, and some changed the content when they went online, they changed the assessment formats. We argue that these changes, although understandable given pandemic conditions, did not necessarily constitute the kind of carefully designed, paced, sequenced, and assessed online teaching and learning that also enhances epistemological access. We indicate that if one is to accept that the so-called new normal in education will largely be online, then the quality assurance of online teaching and learning will become unavoidable.

The objective of this research is to describe how the teacher integrates technologies in blended learning and to analyze students’ perception and challenges in blended learning. The research was conducted in a private senior high school in Bandung and used a qualitative descriptive method. The data were collected through interview and questionnaire. The findings show that the teacher had already integrated technologies to run the process of teaching and learning in the new normal era as a replacement of a face to face learning due to Covid-19 pandemic. In the blended learning, the teacher integrated the variety of technologies in teaching-learning activities, namely zoom meeting and WhatsApp group chatting for the synchronous learning and she utilized google classroom, screencast o matic screen recorder, viva video editor, YouTube, and Quizizz the synchronous learning. The students perceived  blended learning positively and determined that it is it is one of the effective ways of teaching. The biggest challenge overcome by the teacher is more time needed to learn and adapt to this new situation where they must employ technology in our educational culture. For the students, the stability of internet connection also becomes major obstacle in blended learning. Apart from that, blended learning can be an option applied in the learning process in the current pandemic era.

Prior-to the COVID-19 outbreak, undergraduate PharmCare II Clerkship activities consisted of two phases. The first phase requires pharmacy students to clerk infectious disease and endocrine-related cases of patients admitted into wards at a teaching hospital, whilst in the second phase, the students are required to present the clerked cases in front of their group members with a thorough assessment by lecturers at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Due to sudden outbreak of COVID-19, presentations at hospitals and face-to-face learning were no longer feasible; therefore an online methodology was executed. Each student was assigned a real completed case clerked by a previous Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy graduate. The students then critically evaluated any pharmaceutical care issues (PCIs) in each of the cases, recorded a video presentation for assessment by the lecturers and discussed each case with other group members in a synchronous online session via web-conferencing software.

To prevent the spread of Covid-19, various universities and schools began to implement e-learning. This is the application of application-based learning. There are many universities that have organized this learning model program and have passed their students' thesis and dissertation examinations by utilizing this technological sophistication. This paper explains the nature of e-learning model, both its characteristics, strengths, weaknesses and its benefits in preventing the spread of Covid-19. Basically, e-learning has two types, namely synchronous and asynchronous. The Synchronous is learning process all at once between lecturers and students (on line at the same time). Whereas the asynchronous is not at the same time. Students can take different time from lecturers. It can be concluded that e-learning can be used to prevent the spread of covid-19, because there is no face-to-face learning when giving material. E-learning also has several advantages over conventional learning systems. However, e-learning also has shortcomings, such as the lack of interaction between students and teachers even between other students, tend to ignore the social aspects and foster individual aspects, the teaching and learning process tends towards training rather than education, and several other shortcomings.

Online learning is one of the new policies in the education sector due to the global pandemic, namely COVID-19. This online learning policy is expected to continue to support the achievement of educational goals. Effectiveness in learning is often measured as a standard for achieving educational goals. Google classroom as a digital-based education platform is considered capable of being a learning link between teachers and students. The implementation of this research is to determine the effectiveness of online teaching and learning activities using Google Classroom at SMA Negeri 1, SMA Negeri 3, SMA Negeri 7 and SMA Negeri 8. This research is quantitative descriptive. The population used in this study were students in grades X, XI, and XII and high school teachers in the city of Samarinda.  Data retrieval was carried out using google forms, learning outcomes documents, and interviews, then the analytical technique used was the interactive model of analysis by comparing the results of the google form questionnaire, learning outcomes, and interviews. The results of the study illustrate that online geography learning using google classroom ranges from 51% -75% only and is considered less effective due to several factors, namely network constraints, quota costs and and google classroom used in this study is not optimal. In addition, when face-to-face learning using google meet only 30% - 50% of students who follow it and some teachers do not carry out face-to-face for fear of burdening students. As a result, teachers only provide materials, media, videos, and assignments in Google Classroom, even though the average student learning outcomes are above the KKM. The conclusion in the study shows the use of google classroom when learning geography online is less effective.
