Analogy reasoning is the process of thinking logically and analytically in drawing conclusions based on the similarities between the two things being compared. The purpose of this study is to describe the analogy reasoning of students in solving mathematical problems in terms of high, medium, and low mathematical abilities. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out in class IX-H of SMP Negeri 5 Surabaya in the 2019/2020 school year by 33 students and each subject was selected for each category of mathematical ability. The results of the analysis of Problem Solving Tests and interviews show that students with high, medium, and low mathematical abilities mention information that is known and what is asked for logical reasons on the source and target problem, and explain the relations between the information. This indicates that each subject has an encoding process. Each subject also mentions and explains the concepts used to solve source problems, which means each subject has an inferring process. The difference is, subjects with high mathematical ability mention the same concepts between the source problem and the target problem and explain the concepts used to solve the target problem, then students can complete the target problem. This means that the subject is doing two other processes, namely mapping and applying. Subjects with medium mathematical abilities are mentioning the same concept between the source problem and the target problem but cannot explain the concept used in the target problem. However, the subject only did one of the two indicators in the mapping process, so the analogy reasoning process carried out by the subject was encoding and inferring. While students with low mathematical abilities are stopped in the encoding and inferring processes. Keywords: Analogy Reasoning, Mathematical Abilitiy

This study aims to examine students’ mathematical literacy in solving PISA problems using the Indonesian cultural context. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. As the subject of this study are three 9th grade students with high, average, and low mathematical abilities. In collecting the data, the researchers used three instruments, namely, mathematical ability test, mathematical literacy test, and interview guidelines. The results reveal that student with high mathematical ability meets all indicators in the process of formulating, employing, and interpreting. Otherwise, students with average or low mathematical abilities only meet some indicators in the process of mathematical literacy. Therefore, it is suggested for the teacher to provide practice especially for students having average or low mathematical abilities with literacy problems using contexts that exist in students’ life, such as the Indonesian cultural context

This study aims to analyze student mathematical literacy ability from the perspective of students' Mathematical Ability. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were three students of XI IPA 1 MAN 1 Padang with different mathematical abilities: low, medium, and high. Data were collected through documentation, tests, and interviews. The results of the analysis show that students with high abilities can solve routine problems, interpret problems and solve them with formulas, carry out procedures well, can deal with complex situations, use their reasoning in solving problems, can work effectively and interpret different representations and then relate them to the real world. Students with moderate abilities can solve routine problems, interpret problems and solve them with formulas, and carry out procedures properly. Meanwhile, students with low abilities are only able to solve routine questions. Based on these results, it is necessary to look for strategies in the mathematics learning process, which enable the improvement of students' mathematical literacy skills.

Mathematics has a special characteristic that is an abstract object of study. Because of this specificity, learning mathematics requires mathematical understanding. Mathematical understanding in solving mathematical problems is different between each student. This difference is because each student has different mathematical abilities. The purpose of this study was to describe (1) the profile of mathematical understanding of students with high mathematics ability in solving problems (2) the profile of mathematical understanding of students with moderate mathematics ability in solving problems (3) the profile of mathematical understanding of students with low mathematics ability in solving problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with 3 students as the subject of class XI SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Baron. The selection of research subjects was based on students' mathematical abilities, namely high, medium and low mathematical abilities. Data collection techniques in this study using problem solving test techniques and interviews. The validity of the data used in this study used time triangulation. Based on the results of data analysis, the results showed that (1) The profile of mathematical understanding with high mathematical ability in solving quadratic function problems is the subject of reading the problem until it understands, writing correctly what is known and asked, conducting problem exploration appropriately, choosing the right problem solving strategy, looking for answers by doing algebraic calculations correctly and checking the answers back from the solutions obtained. (2) The profile of mathematical understanding with moderate mathematical ability in solving quadratic function problems is that the subject reads the problem until he understands, correctly states what is known and asked, skips problem exploration, looks for answers by doing algebraic calculations even though inaccurate answers are obtained and does not check answer back. (3) The profile of mathematical understanding with low mathematical ability in solving quadratic function problems is that the subject reads the problem until he understands, correctly states what is known and asked, skips problem exploration, looks for answers by doing algebraic calculations but gets inaccurate answers and does not check answer back. ABSTRAKMatematika memiliki karakteristik khusus yaitu objek kajian yang abstrak. Karena kekhususannya ini maka dalam mempelajari matematika diperlukan pemahaman matematis. Pemahaman matematis dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika berbeda antar setiap siswa. Perbedaan ini dikarenakan setiap siswa memiliki kemampuan matematika yang berbeda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan (1) profil pemahaman matematis siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi dalam menyelesaikan masalah (2) profil pemahaman matematis siswa berkemampuan matematika sedang dalam menyelesaikan masalah (3) profil pemahaman matematis siswa berkemampuan matematika rendah dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian kelas XI SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Baron berjumlah 3 siswa. Pemilihan subjek penelitian berdasarkan pada kemampuan matematika siswa yaitu kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunkan teknik tes pemecahan masalah dan wawancara. Keabsahan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi waktu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh hasil bahwa (1) Profil pemahaman matematis berkemampuan matematika tinggi dalam menyelesaikan masalah fungsi kuadrat adalah subjek membaca masalah sampai paham, menuliskan dengan benar apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan, melakukan eksplorasi masalah dengan tepat, memilih strategi penyelesaian masalah dengan tepat, menacari jawaban dengan melalukan perhitungan aljabar dengan tepat serta melakukan pemeriksaan jawaban kembali dari solusi yang diperoleh. (2) Profil pemahaman matematis berkemampuan matematika sedang dalam menyelesaikan masalah fungsi kuadrat adalah subjek membaca masalah sampai paham, menyebutkan dengan benar apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan, melewatkan eksplorasi masalah, menacari jawaban dengan melalukan perhitungan aljabar walaupun diperoleh jawaban yang kurang tepat serta tidak melakukan pemeriksaan jawaban kembali. (3) Profil pemahaman matematis berkemampuan matematika rendah dalam menyelesaikan masalah fungsi kuadrat adalah subjek membaca masalah sampai paham, menyebutkan dengan benar apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan, melewatkan eksplorasi masalah, menacari jawaban dengan melalukan perhitungan aljabar namun diperoleh jawaban yang kurang tepat serta tidak melakukan pengecekan jawaban kembali.

The aim of learning mathematics in universities is to improve students' mathematical abilities. One of the important mathematical abilities of students is understanding the concept. With an understanding of the concept, students will easily solve mathematical problems. This research is an experimental research design with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. In the design of this study, researchers used one class as the subject of research. Before being given treatment, the pretest is first performed, then given treatment within a certain period, then given a posttest. The results showed that there was an increase in students' understanding of the concept after being given the application of the expository method.

RESUMOObjetivo: Identificar o significado para o enfermeiro em prestar cuidados para pacientes com Depressão.  Materiais e métodos: Estudo exploratório e descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, a amostra foi de 12 enfermeiras, o cenário de estudo foram Unidades Básicas de Saúde e Estratégias de Saúde da Família, urbanas da cidade de Itajubá-MG. A coleta de dados foi por meio do roteiro de entrevista semiestruturada composta por questionário contendo uma pergunta inerente ao assunto. Resultados: Encontramos oito categorias como estigma da depressão, suicídio, dificuldade em lidar, tempo escasso, envolvimento familiar, aceitação da doença, acolhimento e dar medicamento, de acordo com os discursos dos sujeitos coletados na entrevista. Conclusão: Os enfermeiros não estão em contato direto com portadores de depressão no seu trabalho, não entendem que é sua tarefa identificar e encaminha-los para tratamento especializado. Sugerimos que outros estudos sejam desenvolvidos sobre essa temática.Palavras-chave: Depressão. Relação Enfermeiro-Paciente. Assistência de Enfermagem. ABSTRACTObjective: To identify the meaning for nurses when providing care for patients with depression. Materials and Methods: exploratory and descriptive study with qualitative approach, the sample consisted of 12 nurses, the study scenario was the urban Unidades Básicas de Saúde e Estrategia de Saúde da Família, in the city of Itajubá. Data collection was done through semi-structured interview guides consisting of a questionnaire containing a question related to the subject. Results and Discussion: we found eight categories as stigma of depression, suicide, coping difficulties, scarce time, family involvement, acceptance of the disease, host and give medicine, according to the speeches of the subjects collected in the interview. Conclusion: nurses are not in direct contact with individuals with depression in their work, do not understand that it is their job to identify and refer them to specialized treatment. This study aims to compare the perceptions of psychologists and who do people ruqyah to trans possession phenomena. This research is a comparative descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study amounted to 6 people consisting of 3 people who work as psychologists and 3 people who work as who do people ruqyah in the Pondok Sehat Al-Wahida. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Analysis of the data used with descriptive-comparative methods.Based on the results of the research can be concluded that there are differences and similarities of perceptions of psychologists and people who do ruqyah in viewing at the trance phenomenon in the city of Banjarmasin. The difference between the perception of psychologists and people who do ruqyah in viewing the phenomenon of trance is that psychologists view the phenomenon of possession using psychological theory, while peruqyah views the phenomenon of possession using Islamic studies so that treatment given by psychologists and people who do ruqyah has this difference in accordance with their scientific competencies. As for the similarities between the perception of psychologists and people who the ruqyah in viewing at  the phenomenon of possession can be caused by psychological problems but they also believe in Islamic studies can be caused by a genie that penetrates the body,

This article presents a study in science teaching which aimed to better understand and explain the differences in performance achieved by young Moroccans and Quebecers aged 15 in an international assessment. Our study is part of a diagnostic perspective of conceptions in science (Tsai and Chou, 2002, Kraus and Minstrell, 2002; Thijs and Van Den Berg, 1995; Tsai and Chou, 2002). The theoretical framework is inspired by the work of Balacheff (1995) on the characterization of conceptions according to the subject / environment dynamic. The research approach is based on a mixed, predominantly qualitative approach. Our results attest to the existence of an important influence of conceptions of cultural origin in the orientation of student responses to standardized items used in certain large international surveys. These results therefore offer avenues for reflection on the possibility of putting into perspective the explanations for the difference in performance between countries with different cultural backgrounds, as well as avenues for solution to minimize them. Consequently, our study raises a questioning of a didactic nature on the modeling of the contents and format of so-called standardized items. What can be the invariants in the dressing of a standardized item in science with regard to the contextually valid conceptions which orient the pupils' responses?

Kemampuan matematis yang baik oleh guru matematika tentu akan berimplikasi terhadap kemampuan matematis peserta didiknya. Kemampuan matematis merupakan kemampuan dalam pemahaman, penalaran, koneksi, pemecahan masalah dan komunikasi dalam matematika. Hasil supervisi kelas terhadap guru matematika dalam proses pembelajaran utamanya di kegiatan inti diperoleh 85,71% dengan kualifikasi cukup. Hal demikian tentu masih jauh dari yang diharapkan oleh pengawas pembinanya. Salah satu alternatif usaha yang dilakukan dengan bimbingan berkelanjutan yang implementasi perkembangannya dicermati melalui supervisi kelas oleh pengawas madrasah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru matematika dalam proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan matematis guru matematika tersebut. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan PTS/PTKp dengan 2 siklus. Dilaksanakan pada Semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Subjek penelitian adalah guru matematika. Objek penelitian, yaitu proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan matematis guru matematika. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, diskusi, observasi (supervisi kelas), dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian: (1) proses pembelajaran pada Siklus I, nilai 70 dengan kualifikasi cukup, dilanjutkan ke Siklus II, nilai 85 dengan kualifikasi baik; (2) kemampuan matematis guru matematika pada Siklus I nilai 68 dengan kualifikasi cukup menjadi 89 pada Siklus II dengan kualifikasi baik sekali. Peningkatan kemampuan guru matematika dalam proses pembelajaran sejalan dengan peningkatan kemampuan matematisnya. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Matematis, Proses Pembelajaran, Supervisi Kelas Abstract: A good mathematical ability by mathematics teachers will certainly have implications for the mathematical abilities of their students. Mathematical ability is the ability in understanding, reasoning, connecting, solving problem and communicating in mathematics. The results of classroom supervision of mathematics teachers in the main learning process in core activities were obtained 85.71% with sufficient qualifications. This is certainly still far from what is expected by the supervisor. One alternative effort that can be carried out is ongoing guidance in which the development observed through classroom supervision by the madrasah supervisor. This study aims to improve the ability of mathematics teachers in the learning process and mathematical abilities of the mathematics teacher. This research was designed using PTS / PTKp with 2 cycles. Held in the even semester Academic Year 2018/2019. The subject of the research is the mathematics teacher. The objects of research are the learning process and mathematical ability of mathematics teachers. Data collection techniques through interviews, discussions, observations (class supervision), and tests. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and quantitative descriptive. The results of the study: (1) learning process in Cycle I, 70 with sufficient qualifications, continued to Cycle II, 85 with good qualifications; (2) mathematical ability of mathematics teachers in Cycle I is 68 with sufficient qualifications to be 89 in Cycle II with very good qualifications. Increasing the ability of mathematics teachers in the learning process is in line with the improvement of their mathematical abilities. Keywords: Mathematical Ability, Learning Process, Class Supervision

This community service activity is motivated by the low level of mathematical ability of TPA children in learning to read, write and count. This activity aims to increase the mathematical ability of Al-Ukhwah TPA children in the fields of reading, writing, and arithmetic. The implementation of this activity was carried out using descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. The findings in this service are 1) Knowing the importance of learning to read, writing and counting, 2) Researchers can carry out this activity in several ways, including designing methods or strategies and teaching materials, providing motivation and teaching, and selecting assignments to be given, 3) Reading, writing and arithmetic activities can improve children's mathematical abilities.

Awareness of metacognition is one of mental process that occurs when a person knows what he thinks, including the knowledge and awareness to do something or realize the reason that. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe how the metacognition awareness of mathematics student and mathematics education student based on mathematical ability, and (2) to know the difference metacognitive awareness between of mathematics students with math education students based on mathematical ability. This research subject are the Department of Mathematics and Mathematics Education students of Halu Oleo University Kendari, Indonesia. This research is ex post facto by the data analysis using descriptive and inferential approach. Descriptive approach used to describe the level of metacognitive awareness of mathematics students and mathematics education students based on his mathematical abilities, whereas inferential approach used to see the difference in metacognition awareness of mathematics students and mathematics education students based math skills. The results of this study are: (1) the level of students metacognition awareness of Mathematics Department, generally located on level strategic use and level reflective use, while the level of students metacognition awareness of Education Mathematics Department, generally located on level aware use; (2) there is a significant difference between the awareness metacognition of math students with mathematics education student based on his mathematical abilities, and awareness metacognition of math student better than mathematics education students.
