In the current empirical research, the researchers aimed to prepare a scale and program on rapid reading and its impact on understanding and increasing the number of words as it went (Tony Buzan, 2011 - 2018). The program was based on a sample consisting of (14) equal female students in terms of age, sex, social status and level of education, as one experimental group of students of the internal section (18) at the University of Salahaddin - Erbil. The importance of the current empirical research is that reading fast teaches students to learn new ways of reading and understanding and increasing the number of words, and left the previous misconceptions in reading and understanding, which we learned from childhood in schools, where it was an obstacle to reading fast and understanding and increase the number of words and benefit from the effort and time as well. The accuracy of the visual reliability and the stability of the method test and re-test were verified. The apparent of the visual reliability was 100% and the stability coefficient was 91%. The pre-test was carried out on the experimental group and the program was applied to them and then the post-test was performed on them. Statistical analysis of the social sciences (Spss) showed the results: 1. Prepare a rapid reading program 2. There is a statistically significant difference between the arithmetic mean value of the pre- test and the post-test, in favor for the post-test in degree of freedom (26) at the level of statistical significance (0.001) This means that the independent variable (Quick Reading Program) has an effective effect on the dependent variables (understanding and increasing the number of words). In the light of the results, the researchers presented some recommendations and suggestions.

The social issues involving off-campus students are quite serious as these students are more susceptible to negative influences such as friends and the surrounding environment. Results from the preliminary study showed that there were four major problems which are relationship with the Creator, self-management, social relationship with housemates, as well as housekeeping management and upkeep. Therefore, an intervention programme named Transformation Leadership Programme for Off-Campus Students was designed. The study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the leadership transformation programme among off-campus student. The effectiveness of the intervention programme reported in this study is based only on pre- and post-tests from quantitative data collected from 30 respondents. The results show that there is no significant difference for the variable, ‘respondents’ belief in the Creator’ although the mean value increased in the post-test. Apart from that, the findings also show significant improvements in the other three variables assessed, (i.e., relationship with the Creator, self-management, social relationship with their housemates and housekeeping management and upkeep). Data also show that there was also positive impact on off-campus students’ academic achievement due to the decrease in the number of respondents with CGPA below 2.5. Therefore, this means the programme is successful in helping off-campus students to understand and make a connection between the value of belief in the Creator (spiritual intelligence) with the exercise of social responsibility as a leader to oneself, others and housekeeping management and upkeep.

The key goal of the paper is to study the influence of blended learning on the academic perfor-mance of students of a statistics Bluman course at the University of Ajman. The study was implemented by means of a quasi-experimental design. The sample of the study was 268 students, grouped into two groups: one experimental group (n = 135) that used blended learning; and the other a control group (n = 133) which was educated using the traditional method. The researchers prepared the achievement test as a tool of study after verifying its validity and reliability. The findings indicated significant statistical differences among the mean scores on the students’ post-test achievement in the two study groups, in favor of experimental group students, who were educated through blended learning. Furthermore, the outcomes showed that the scores of the experimental group students were diverse based on the variable of gender (in favor of females), and based on the variable of students’ academic year (supporting those students in the fourth academic year). However, no statistically significant difference was found among the students according to the variable of the college in which they studied. The study recommends that mixed learning is to be employed more broadly to include various educational fields.

The present study aims at investigating the effects of extensive reading (ER) on language proficiency of Iranian intermediate EFL learners. A Preliminary English Test (PET) was administered to 106 male and female university students. The participants were selected as intermediate learners and were divided into three groups (one control and two experimental groups). During the ten sessions of the treatment, ten short stories (authentic and simplified) were provided to the two homogenous groups (two experimental groups). The first experimental group received authentic reading texts and the second experimental group received simplified reading texts, while the participants of the control group followed the ordinary reading course at the university. All three groups received post-tests administered after the treatment. The results of the t-tests revealed that there is no significant difference in reading scores across the posttest between two experimental groups. The results of ANOVA also revealed that there is a significant difference between the scores of the control group and experimental groups’ participants. Based on the interview result after the post-test, all of the participants (100%) agreed that they had positive attitude toward extensive reading after participating in the treatment sessions. The study suggests, however, students’ curriculum courses should include extensive reading texts in order to develop EFL language proficiency.

Peer teaching is a strategy that allows the students to teach the new content to each other, and they must be accurately guided by instructors. The researcher proposes that the use of students peer teaching may promote students' achievement and ensure the engagement of all the students in the learning process. Therefore, the researcher employs it as a teaching method aiming at investigating its effect on Iraqi EFL students' achievement in the course of Library and Research Work . The study hypothesizes that there is no significant difference between the students' achievement who are taught library and research work by students peer teaching and that of the students taught by the traditional way. The experimental design of the study is Parallel Groups, Random Assignment, posttest. Each group consists of 35 students, chosen randomly from the Third Year Students at the Department of English in the College of Basic Education. Both groups were matched in terms of their age and parents' education. The experiment was fulfilled in the first course for 15 weeks during the academic year 2016-2017. The same materials were presented to both groups. This included units from Writing Research Paper by Lester D. . Post-test was constructed and exposed The t-test for independent samples was used to analyze the results and it is found out that there is a statistical difference between the two groups in their achievement because the calculated t- value 2.635 is bigger than the tabulated t- value which is 2.000, and also shown the superiority of the experimental group. The results indicate that the experimental group, who was taught Library and Research Work by peer teaching was better than the control group, who was taught according to the traditional way. So, the null hypothesis is rejected. Finally, some recommendations and suggestions are presented in the light of the study findings. to a jury of experts to verify its validity and it was administered to both groups.
