This study aims to determine the condition of lung cardiac endurance (VO2 Max) of sports extracurricular participants at SMA Negeri 8 Malang. The research method used was descriptive quantitative with the research subjects of sports extracurricular participants of SMA Negeri 8 Malang numbering to 107 students; 32 students of basketball, 26 students of badminton, 21 students of volleyball, and 28 students of Soccer or futsal. The instrument used was a multistage fitness test with a descriptive quantitative percentage data analysis. The results of the study showed that male members of basketball and futsal had an average VO2 Max between 35.0-38.3 ml/kg/ minute, while badminton and volleyball members had an average VO2 Max less than 35.0 ml/kg/ minute. For the female groups of basketball, volleyball and futsal members, they had an average VO2 Max between 31.0-34.9 ml/kg/ minute, while badminton members had an average VO2 Max between 25.0-30.9 ml/kg/ minute. The conclusions were that male members of basketball and futsal were in the category of "bad" lung endurance, while badminton and volleyball members were in the category of "very bad" lung endurance. Whereas for the female groups, the members of basketball, volleyball, and futsal were in the category of "less" lung endurance, while badminton members were in the category of "bad" lung endurance. This research was derived from the problems indicating that the students had lack of capability in 100 meter sprinting. This could be seen from the result of local sport competition held annually. This research sought to explain the improvement of the students’ 100 meter sprinting ability by using Repetition Exercise Method and Intensive Interval Method. The subject of the research was 22 students at SMP N 1 Pariaman. They were chosen based on their ability in 100 meter sprinting which was lower compared to those from other schools. This was an experimental research which applied quantitative approach. The research was conducted in 16 meetings from May to June 2014. The data gathered were in the form of quantitative data. They were obtained through 100 meter sprinting test. The results of data analysis revealed that: (1) the value of tcalculated gotten by applying Repetition Exercise Method was higher (12.14) than that of ttable (1.812) indicating that the use of that method significantly exerted an influence upon the students’ 100 meter sprinting ability at SMPNegeri 1 Pariaman, (2) the value of tcalculated gotten by applying Intensive Interval Method was higher (3.27) than that of ttable (1.812) indicating that the use of that method significantly exerted an influence upon the students’ 100 meter sprinting ability at SMP Negeri 1 Pariaman, and (3) there was no significant different between the use of Repetition Exercise Method and Intensive Interval Method at SMP Negeri 1 Pariaman in which the value of tcalculated (0.28) was higher than ttable (1.860).

This research is entitled “The Effectiveness of Using Cooperative Script Method to Improve Students’ Reading Comprehension on Recount Text of 8th Grade Students of SMP N Kewapante, Maumere in Academic Year 2017/ 2018”. The objective of this research is to investigate and to find out whether the use of cooperative script method effective to improve students’ reading comprehension on recount text. The method of this research is experimental research especially quasi experimental research. In analyzing the data, the researcher combined both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. In qualitative data analysis, the researcher used interview technique in order to get information about students’ perceptions in reading, while in quantitative data analysis, the researcher used SPSS version 16. The result of the research showed that the implementation of Cooperative Script Method in experimental class was more effective to help the students in reading comprehension on recount text compared to the use of the conventional method in control class of the eighth grade students of SMP N Kewapante, Maumere. It is also found that cooperative script method positively contributed to improve students’ reading comprehension. Therefore ,the researcher  suggests the teachers to use cooperative script method in order to improve students reading comprehension Additionally, cooperative script method can also motivate students to be more active, relax and enthusiastic to comprehend reading texts.

The aim of the present study was to locate the fastest 10-m split time (Splitbest) over a 40-m sprint in relation to age and maximal sprint speed in highly trained young soccer players. Analyses were performed on 967 independent player sprints collected in 223 highly trained young football players (Under 12 to Under 18). The maximal sprint speed was defined as the average running speed during Splitbest. The distribution of the distance associated with Splitbest was affected by age (X23 = 158.7, P < .001), with the older the players, the greater the proportion of 30-to-40-m Splitbest. There was, however, no between-group difference when data were adjusted for maximal sprint speed. Maximal sprint speed is the main determinant of the distance associated with Splitbest. Given the important disparity in Splitbest location within each age group, three (U12-U13) to two (U14-U18) 10-m intervals are still required to guarantee an accurate evaluation of maximal sprint speed in young players when using timing gates.
