This study aims to develop effective, feasible, and valid encyclopedia media on form and function of plant to train fourth-graders’ critical thinking skills in the elementary school. This study was research and development based on Borg and Gall theory and Research (R& D) model. Data were collected using observation, questionnaires, and tests and analyzed using media validity and reliability, student activity, implementation of lesson plans, and tests of critical thinking skills. After that, the media was validated by experts. The results of the expert validation showed that the Encyclopedia media was valid for use. Furthermore, the media was tested on fourth-graders of SDN KERTAJAYA V / 211 Surabaya using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The limited scale trial results showed (1) the validation of the developed Encyclopedia media were 96% valid categories, (2) the developed media were tested in term of lesson plan implementation were 94% with well-implemented category and student activities were suitable to Discovery Learning model, (3) the effectiveness of the Encyclopedia media in terms of students’ critical thinking skills tests showed that average N-Gain was 0.75 (high) and positive response of 97% was given by students. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Encyclopedia media on Form and Function of Plant is feasible to train Critical Thinking Skills of Elementary School Students.

This study aims to produce science learning tools that are valid, practical, and effective which consists of syllabus, lesson plan, teaching material, student activity sheets, and test sheets to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary students. This research was carried out using the 4-D model of adaptation Ibrahim, M., which is define, design, developing, disseminate and tested in class V of Jiken Elementary School, Kedondong I Elementary School, Sudimoro Elementary School, school year 2019/2020 with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis techniques used are quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results shows: 1) valid, according to the validity of the three validators with valid categories, 2) practical, in accordance with the level of observers seen from the activity of students increasing at each meeting and implementation of RPP, 3) effective, seen from appearing significantly different from the pretest and posttest test students' critical thinking and positive student responses. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the development of science learning tools oriented in guided inquiry is valid, practical, and effective for improving critical thinking skills of elementary students.

Researchers were interested in applying Inkuiry's learning method to teach my hero material. The media is called "Multimedia in the form of VCD". This study aims to analyze and observe the effect of inquiry learning methods on critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in grade IV elementary schools. This research was conducted at Elementary School 2 Experiment Malang, in the first semester of 2017-2018 school year. This study uses two classes namely the experimental class and the control class. The research sample was class IV B students as the experimental class and IVC class as the control class. The research instruments used were observation sheets of critical thinking skills and learning outcomes tests. Data analysis techniques used include normality test, homogeneous test, and independent test t-test. The results showed: Multiedia-assisted Inquiry learning method had an effect on critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SD Negeri Percobaan 2 Malang. Thus, the media is used as an alternative medium in social studies learning in the fourth grade.

This study aims to produce textbooks based on pop up science to train students' critical thinking skills in fifth grade elementary school, to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of pop-up science-based textbooks to practice critical thinking skills on the material "System Digestion in Humans ". This research is a development research that refers to the development model of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation (ADDIE). Lesson plan with science-based textbooks pop up are then validated by experts. The results of the validation of the experts stated that the lesson plan with science-based textbooks pop up are valid for used. Furthermore, it was tested on the fifth grade students of Kandangan I / 121 state elementary school at Surabaya with One Group Pretest-Postest Design. The results of a limited scale trial showed that  (1) learning tools with science based pop-up textbooks that are developed in valid categories, (2) lesson plan that are developed practically based on the implementation of lesson plans that are categorized very well and student activities that are relevant to learning, (3) lesson plan which developed are effective based on the results of students' critical thinking skills tests which show that N-Gain 9 students are in the middle category, 6 students are in the high category, and the results of the paired samples t-test with Ho are rejected and the positive response given by the students . It can be concluded that the lesson plans with science-based textbooks pop up are appropriate for training the thinking skills of elementary school students.

The aimed of this research to describe the student learning outcomes and critical thinking skills through guided inquiry model using student worksheet oriented of critical thinking skills. This Research was conducted on two stages, are development of teaching materials using Dick and Carey model, and the implementation stage into the classroom using one group pretest-posttest design with subjects were 30 students on X class of SMAN 1 Pasir Belengkong Kabupaten Paser Kalimantan Timur. The parameter is feasibility of lesson plan, student activity, learning outcomes, critical thinking skills and constraints for teaching and learning activities. Data collecting were using observation method, test, and questionnaire. After the data were analiyzed with this result: The feasibility of lesson plan could be categorized as good, student activity with instrument reliability classified as good, learning outcomes test to know mastery of student learning on Ecosystems with the average score as good and gain score high gain, critical thinking test with the average score as good and gain score high gain. Based on this research, it can be concluded that guided inquiry model using student worksheet of critical thinking skills can improve student learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar siswa dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui model inkuiri terbimbing menggunakan LKS berorientasi keterampilan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu tahap pengembangan perangkat yang menggunakan model Dick & Carey, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan tahap implememtasi model di dalam kelas menggunakan rancangan One group Pretest-Posttest Design dengan subjek penelitian 30 siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Pasir Belengkong Kabupaten Paser Kalimantan Timur. Parameter yang diukur meliputi keterlaksanaan RPP, aktivitas siswa, hasil belajar siswa, keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, respon siswa dan hambatan selama kegiatan belajar. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, tes, dan angket. Selanjutnya data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Keterlaksanaan RPP dengan kategori baik, aktivitas siswa, dengan reliabilitas instrumen berkategori baik, ketuntasan belajar siswa pada materi ekosistem dengan nilai rata-rata baik dan gain score rata-rata  gain tinggi, ketuntasan keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan rata-rata nilai baik dan gain score rata-rata gain tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa model inkuiri terbimbing menggunakan LKS berorientasi keterampilan berpikir kritis dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

During the Covid-19 pandemic that swept the world including Indonesia, and to improve students' critical thinking skills, it is necessary to have supporting media in the learning process as an edutainment website. This study intends to determine the validity of the edutainment website developed in physics lessons to improve student's critical thinking skills. The research method used is development research with the DDD-E model. This research was only limited to media development, and no practicality and effectiveness tests were carried out. In this study, the validity data were obtained from the results of validation by expert and were analyzed by descriptive quantitative using the category of Likert scale percentage. If the percentage of each aspect is ≥ 61%, then the edutainment website developed can be declared valid. The results of this study are the percentage of validity in the learning aspect of 90.30%, the material aspect of 90.56%, the media aspect of 88.65%, and the critical thinking aspect of 84.70%. Based on this, it can be concluded that the edutainment website is very valid so that it can be used as a physics learning media to improve students' critical thinking skills. The edutainment website can be an alternative learning media by utilizing information technology and hopefully in further research, it can apply edutainment website and perform practicality and effectiveness tests for learning both in class and distance learning

This study aims to describe the impact of online mentoring activities in implementing the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) learning model on the competence of elementary school teachers in training students’ critical thinking skills. The method was a pre-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 25 elementary school teachers in Indonesia. The teachers received online mentoring in implementing RADEC learning model. The research instrument was a questionnaire to measure teachers’ knowledge and skills in training critical thinking. The data processing technique was carried out by calculating the mean and the percentage of each item to obtain a description of the teachers’ knowledge and skills in training students’ critical thinking before and after treatment. The data were analyzed inferentially with a paired sample t-test using SPSS version 22 software to see the impact of the treatment on teachers’ competence in training critical thinking. Based on the results of the paired-sample t-test, for both the knowledge and skills aspects, the probability value (sig) was 0.00 <0.05. This result means that there was a significant difference in the knowledge and skills of teachers in training students’ critical thinking skills before and after mentoring activities. The study results indicate that the online mentoring in implementing the RADEC learning model improved teachers’ competence in training elementary school students’ critical thinking skills.
