The investigation of length-weight relationship and condition factor are very relevant indices to ascertain the health of fish in the water body. Length-weigh relationship and condition factor of Hyperopisus bebe (Lacepede, 1803) (Actinopterygii: Osteoglossiformes: Mormyridae) in River Galma, Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, were assessed. The mean length and mean weigh in male and female were 26.703 cm +/- 0.51 cm and 25.32 cm +/- 0.898 cm; 158.2 g +/- 10.1 g and 95.91 g +/- 9.26 g, respectively. The exponent or growth pattern 'b' values for male and female were 2.009 and 2.176. The condition factor for male and female were 0.59 and 0.83, respectively. The negative allometric growth pattern and poor condition factor might be due to the poor water quality in the fish ecosystem and should be regarded with concern.

The survey research entitled “Constraints faced by Kiwi fruit farmers in Ilam Municipality and Sandakpur Rural Municipality of Ilam District” was conducted to access the problem faced by kiwi fruit farmers of Ilam district. For the study, 80 households were selected using simple random sampling method. 40 households each from Ilam Municipality and Sandakpur Rural Municipality were selected. The study shows that the production is in slightly increasing rate in both Ilam Municipality and Sandakpur Rural Municipality. In both Sandakpur and Ilam areas, 25 and 20 percent farmers are producing seedlings in their own nursery respectively and rest of seedlings requirement is met from other nursery. The major problem was wild animal Kala at Ilam and Sandakpur. Unavailability of quality saplings, lack of male and female plant management in field, lack of modified storage and lack of refrigerator van were major constraints of Ilam Municipality. Lack of cemented support system, lack of training and pruning knowledge, lack of modified storage and poor connectivity of road were major constraints of Sandakpur Rural Municipality. Overall constraints of Ilam was technical factors whereas of Sandakpur was disease and pest constraints. Despite of all these constraints, the B:C ratio was 2.67 and 2.53 in Ilam and Sandakpur respectively, which means that the kiwi cultivation is profitable.

ABSTRACT Photololigo duvaucelii is one of the commercially important squid resources in TPI Tambak Lorok Semarang. Squid production mainly comes from nature, high fishing effort can cause a decrease in squid resource stock. Cacth in squid fisheries must be accompanied by other activity which to be able to increase population whilst maintain sustainable resources of the squid. This work aimed to study on fisheries biological which included length – weight relationship, condition factor, gonad maturity and gonado somatic index, also to learn morphometry characteristic of the P. duvaucelii in Tambak Lorok Semarang. This study was done in April – Mei 2018. Sample were collected using simple random sampling. A simple linear regression was used to describe the relationship between the log ML (mantle length) and the log W (weight). The length – weight relationship was expressed as  W = 0,024L1,580 for male and W = 0,003L2,043 for female. Slope value (b) shows the growth of P. duvaucelii was negatively allometric. Conditon factor values in this research amounted to 1,037 for male and 1,063 for female, the range of this condition factor showed that the species has a flat body shape. Growth for mantle length (ML) of P. duvaucelii slower than other organs, except with the body weight. Maturity stages of P. duvauceliimale and female in this research dominated by maturity stages I (immature).

The growth pattern of flying fish (Decapterus ruselli) landed at the Labuan Bajo Fish Landing Base, Donggala Regency, has never been implemented. Based on this, research on estimating the growth pattern of flying fish (Decapterus ruselli) is necessary to support these fish resources' sustainable use. This research aimed to study the growth pattern of flying fish (Decapterus ruselli) in Labuan Bajo Fishery Port, Donggala. Flying fish were taken from the catch of fishers who landed their catch at Labuan Bajo Fishing Port, Donggala. Sampling was proportional to the stratified sampling method, namely groups of a small, medium, and large fish. Data were analyzed by a simple linear regression method using Microsoft Excel 2016. The results showed that the growth pattern of flying fish (Decapterus ruselli) landed in Labuan Bajo Fishery Port showed a tendency to be the same. The daily data showed a negative allometric growth pattern and a sigmoid (logistic model). The flying fish condition factor every day is good, where the average value is more than 1 (K> 1). The condition factor > 1 indicates that the flying fish caught around the waters of Banawa is in good condition.
