Procuramos fazer uma leitura crítica do Seminário católico como instituição educativa, a partir dos estudos de Marmilicz. Discutimos as possibilidades ambíguas do processo pedagógico em geral, destacando as relações de poder que o atravessam, produzindo, inclusive, efeitos inesperados. Explicitamos como as dimensões da formação sacerdotal também implicam questões políticas, psicológicas e normalizadoras. Estudamos as possibilidades e os limites da “formação participativa”, analisando a organização das relações de poder na formação presbiteral. Tratamos da sexualidade no processo formativo, tomando o corpo sexuado como objeto da formação do sacerdote celibatário. Finalmente, comentamos os dados de campo coletados por Marmilicz e indicamos como eles são compatíveis com a literatura específica sobre o tema. Tal como o autor, também notamos contradições teórico-práticas na formação sacerdotal no cotidiano do seminário.Abstract: We try to do a critical reading of the Catholic Seminary as an educational institution on the bases of Marmilicz’studies. We discuss the ambiguous possibilities of the pedagogical process in general, emphasizing the power relations that cross it and that may produce unexpected results. We explain how the dimensions of the priests’ training also involve political, psychological and normalizing issues. We examine the possibilities and the limits of “participative education” analyzing the organization of the power relations in the presbyteral education. We deal with sexuality in the formative process taking the sexualized body as the object of the celibate priest’s education. Finally, we commented on the field data collected by Marmilicz and pointed out how they are compatible with the specific literature about this theme. Like the author, we also noticed theoretical-practical contradictions in the education of priests in the everyday life of the seminary.

Turning to the history of the everyday life of an individual or society allows us to preserve historical memory, to identify the mechanisms that ensure the historical continuity and integrity of society at the present stage. An important role in the organization of the management of the regional educational space belonged to civil servant (the trustee, district inspectors, administrative corps of educational institutions), allocated from among the employees of the Ministry of the National Education. Based on historiographical and historical sources, using the methodological provisions of the theory of everyday life, the principles of objectivity, historicism and consistency, the article shows the role of the profession in the structure of the daily life of civil servant of the West Siberian Educational District. It is established that the professional activity was influenced by the scope of official duties established by departmental regulatory documentation, spatial and territorial features of the entrusted management sector, the socio-political situation that corrects professional duties, the established way of life and provides the opportunity to choose within the entrusted professional space. The social status and income level of a civil servant depended on the scope of control and its significance for the activities of the entire system. It was a compensation for the time and effort spent. The proposed approach to the analysis of the role of the professional factor in the daily life of civil servant of the West Siberian Educational District can be applied to other socio-professional groups in different territorial and temporal spaces. This article examines the meanings of caa caan teng (茶餐廳, local cafés) in Hong Kong and the implications of such cafés on the Hong Kong identity. It argues that the local café is a representation of Hong Kong culture because it reflects Hong Kong’s political, economic, and social developmental paths and mirrors the everyday life of its people. I investigate how the interaction of different immigrant cultures in Hong Kong has resulted in the invention of hybrid foods at the local café. These foods demonstrate hybridity as the transgression of boundaries through the negotiation of cultural differences among migrants, as well as those between migrants and colonialists. I argue that hybridity in local cafés reflects the power relations among the locals in Hong Kong, between locals and colonialists, and between locals and the new authorities in Beijing. Hybridity found in local cafés symbolizes the Hong Kong identity, as an entanglement between the multiplicity of Chinese ethnicities and the colonial modernity as characterized by flexibility, efficiency, choice, and diversity. These features differentiate the Hong Kong people from the colonialists and the mainlanders, thus constructing their identity and subjectivity, as former colonial subjects now living in the ‘periphery’ of the motherland.

To identify changes in the everyday life of hepatitis subjects, we conducted a descriptive, exploratory, and qualitative analysis. Data from 12 hepatitis B and/or C patients were collected in October 2011 through a semi-structured interview and subjected to thematic content review. Most subjects have been diagnosed with hepatitis B. The diagnosis period ranged from less than 6 months to 12 years, and the diagnosis was made predominantly through the donation of blood. Interferon was used in only two patients. The findings were divided into two groups that define the interviewees' feelings and responses, as well as some lifestyle changes. It was concluded that the magnitude of phenomena about the disease process and life with hepatitis must be understood to health professionals. From a remarkably innovative point of departure, Ben Highmore (University of Sussex) suggests that modernist literature and art were not the only cultural practices concerned with reclaiming the everyday and imbuing it with significance. At the same time, Roger Caillois was studying the spontaneous interactions involved in games such as hopscotch, while other small scale institutions such as the Pioneer Health Centre in Peckham, London attempted to reconcile systematic study and knowledge with the non-systematic exchanges in games and play. Highmore suggests that such experiments comprise a less-often recognised ‘modernist heritage’, and argues powerfully for their importance within early-twentieth century anthropology and the newly-emerged field of cultural studies.

The section below contains reports on bioarchaeological remains recovered in the excavations in Areas D and C in the Sanctuary of Poseidon at Kalaureia, Poros, between 2003 and 2005. The excavations were directed by the late Berit Wells within a research project named Physical Environment and Daily Life in the Sanctuary of Poseidon at Kalaureia (Poros). The main objective of the project was to study what changed and what remained constant over time in the everyday life and in both the built and physical environment in an important sanctuary of the ancient Greeks. The bioarchaeological remains, of a crucial importance for this type of study, were collected both by means of traditional archaeological excavation and by processing extensively collected soil samples. This text aims to providing the theoretical and archaeological background for the analyses that follow.

Moren ethnic cultural influences take place in urbanized environment and turn it into "island ontology".Everyday life ethnic culture is differentiated, specified as a certain type of spectacle. However, all that powerful cosmologism, which used to exist as an open-air theater in settlements, near rivers, grasslands, roads, is disappearing. The everyday life culture loses imperatives, patterns, and cosmological designs, where, for example, the “plahta” contains rhombuses, squares, and rectangles - images of the earth, and the top of the costume symbolizes the sky. Yes, the symbolic marriage of earth and sky was a prerequisite for marrying young people. The article deals with traces of the urbanization and deurbanization processes in the twentieth century fashion.Key words: ethnic culture, culture of everyday life, ethnics, holidays, variety show, knockabout comedy, square.

The article is devoted to the study of the dialect language worldview based on the material of «Smolensk ethnographic collection» by Vladimir Nikolayevich Dobrovolsky (1856–1920) who was an ethnographer, local historian,folklorist, and lexicographer. The article presents general characteristics of proverbs and sayings included in the collection, describes the ways of recording and distribution of the material collected by the researcher, provides examples of proverbs and sayings, dialogues and poems, sentences and superstitious beliefs that the ethnographer, for various reasons, included in the collection. There are not many works on the study of dialect phraseology, not all Russian territories have this priceless heritage like records of phraseological material compiled at the time of their live functioning. V. N. Dobrovolsky included these phraseological units into the collection after his trips to the Smolensk region. The article proves necessity and prospects of further study of ethnographic material and formulates tasks that modern researchers of V.N. Dobrovolsky’s heritage are facing. The description of phraseological material of the collection makes it possible not only recreate the everyday life of the Smolensk peasant of the XIXth century, his life and cultural attitudes, but also to identify the features of the Smolensk dialect language worldview, to characterize paroemiological units based on national and cultural stereotypes of the Smolensk region people’s behavior.
