This study aims to describe students' mathematical problem-solving abilities based on mathematical dispositions at Riyadlul Mukhlishien Middle School. This type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects used were 21 students of class VIII A. The data sources of this research are in the form of questionnaires, test descriptions and interviews. The results of the questionnaire were used to classify the level of students' mathematical dispositions. After that, two students from each category of mathematical disposition were selected to be the subject of tests and interviews. The results of tests and interviews of mathematical problem-solving abilities were analyzed based on the mathematical disposition of the students. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical disposition of SMP Riyadlul Mukhlishien students is divided into three categories, high, medium and low. Students who have mathematical problem-solving abilities in the high mathematical disposition category are able to meet the indicators of mathematical problem-solving abilities well and write them down completely. Students who have mathematical problem-solving abilities in the moderate mathematical disposition category are able to meet the indicators of mathematical problem-solving abilities but do not write them down completely. Students who have mathematical problem-solving abilities in the low mathematical disposition category are less able to meet the indicators of mathematical problem-solving abilities because they do not write them down completely and still experience errors in calculations

The type of this research was Classroom Action Research. The subject of this research was students in class VIII-9 which consisted of 20 students. The object was SMPSA on cube and cuboid topic in eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Binjai Academic Year 2015/2016.This study consisted of two cycles.  Each cycle had two meetings. SMPSA was tested in the end of cycle. Instrument used to collect data in this research were test and observation sheet. After giving a treatment to students, in the first cycle, the average score of their mathematical problem solving ability was 2.30. Ten of  20 students (50%) obtained score ³ 2.67. The average score of teacher’s activities in observation sheet was 2.66, which classified as good category. The average score of students’ activities in observation sheet was 2.55, which classified as good category. In the second cycle, the average score of mathematical problem solving ability was increased became 3.05 with 18 students (90%) obtained score ³ 2.67. The average score of teacher’s activities in observation sheet was 3.44, which classified as very good category. The average score of students’ activities in observation sheet was 3.22, which classified as very good category. From the result of research, it can be concluded that the implementation of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach can improve students’ problem solving ability. Abstract: The theory distinguishes human based on four different personality types such as: sanguine, choleric, melancholic, and phlegmatic. Different types of personality caused by differences in the dominant fluid in the body. These differences will result in terms of behavior, ways of thinking and to get along. The type of this research that is descriptive qualitative which it is describing the logical reasoning based on Hippocrates personality types. The logical reasoning is analyzed through the four types of personality in relation to mathematical problem solving. The Analysis is done based on the logical reasoning indicator/ subindicator and the steps of problem solving stated by Polya. The result shows that there is a reasoning difference on each type of personalities. The difference can be terms of the strenght or the weakness. Sanguine is quicker in understanding problems and communicating results, choleric is more accelerated in work, melancholic is more perfect at work, and  phlegmatic is superior in terms of accuracy. Keywords: Logical reasoning, Hippocrates, sanguine, choleric, melancholic, phlegmatic

This study aims to determine whether the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving skills that get the learning of Model-Eliciting Activities is better than students who get regular learning. Method in this research is experiment and research design pretest and postest in experiment and control class. The population in this study were all students of MTs Kota Cimahi. School samples were taken at random, and obtained by MTs Negeri Kota Cimahi. Then the sample is selected two class VIII at random class. The experimental class uses Model-Eliciting Activities, while the control class uses ordinary learning. The hypothesis in this research is the improvement of student solving abilities of MTs students in Cimahi whose learning using Model-Eliciting Activities is better than using ordinary learning. Research data obtained through the instrument of posttest mathematical problem solving ability. The posttest data is processed by normality test, homogeneity test, and two average difference test using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) software version 16.0 for Windows. The results showed that the improvement of problem solving ability of MTs students in Cimahi whose learning using Model-Eliciting Activities was better than those using ordinary learning.

This study aims to determine the effect of students' mathematical dispositions on mathematical problem solving abilities of students in class VII of SMP. The type of research used is quantitative. The sample in this study was class VII A, amounting to 30 people who were selected using simple random sampling from 6 existing classes. The type of data in this research is primary data with data collection used using a disposition questionnaire consisting of 28 items and tests consisting of 5 items of description. Testing the hypothesis in this study using a simple regression test. After the data is analyzed the regression equation is obtained as follows: Y = 16,312 + 0.523X. before testing the hypothesis, the data normality test and linearity test were carried out. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the t-test = 3.296 with significance = 0.003 and table = 2.048. then t count = 3.296> 2.048 = t table means that data is normally distributed. To see the achievement of the disposition indicators of junior high school students in the junior high school class, the average of each indicator is calculated and the achievement of the mathematical disposition indicator is 50.08%. Whereas for grouping mathematical dispositions, problem solving abilities obtained the highest dispositions having an average of 63.04, moderate dispositions having an average of 43.56, and low dispositions having an average of 40.51. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of mathematical disposition on mathematical problem solving abilities of students of junior high school class.

This study was employed to enhance learning motivation and mathematical problem-solving abilities of class VIII A students of SMP Negeri 7 Purwokerto through SFAE learning with problem-solving strategies. The subjects of this study were 31 students of class VIII A SMP Negeri 7 Purwokerto. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted collaboratively and participative. The action research was carried out in 3 cycles, with each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. Students were given a questionnaire to measure learning motivation and a test to measure their mathematical problem-solving abilities at the end of each cycle. Data collection techniques in this study include observation, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The finding showed that implementing of SFAE learning with problem-solving strategies could increase students’ learning motivation and mathematical problem-solving abilities. The study found that (1) The average percentage of the overall learning motivation questionnaire is steadily increased from 61.71% in cycle one to 68.10% in cycle two and 76.03% in cycle three. (2) The average percentage of student tests for problem-solving abilities in cycle one also significantly increases from 35.21% to 53.20% in cycle two and 79.61% in cycle three. The average student test rate for each indicator of problem-solving ability has met the study’s success criteria.
