This study aims to develop a work readiness theory during pandemics based on existing theories and data obtained in the field. The research approach used is a qualitative method with a grounded theory approach. Research subjects are parties who have an interest and are involved in job readiness, namely managers, employees, recruiters, and educators. There are fifteen subjects in this research. Data analysis was carried out in 4 stages: open coding, focused coding, axial coding, and selective coding to organize and integrate categories into a single category. Validation of this study was carried out by triangulation, namely by validating respondents. The researcher re-interviewed the participants by questioning the results of previous interviews to see the consistency of the data obtained. The results showed that five factors correlate with each other. The first is social support which includes support from the school environment, parents, and friendship. The second factor is the internal force which functions as a driving force for individuals to carry out a behavior. The third is the opportunity aspect. The fourth is the competency that includes how to work attitude of fresh graduates and their digital mindset. Individuals are ready to work if competence and persistence in the search can be carried out correctly. And the last selection readiness is about readiness to understand their position. This research is expected to become additional information for the future as an initial source in developing studies related to the work readiness of graduates. The study results show that it takes both internal and external strength to prepare fresh graduates for work.

Digital literacy is one form of development in the 4.0 revolution era where we can access various desired information quickly. Of course, the digital literacy school environment impacts the learning process significantly. This study aims to analyze how the implementation of digital literacy in elementary schools. This type of research is qualitative with a research design in 4 stages: first, research focus. Second, research implementation (Observation, Interview). Third, data analysis. Fourth, the study results, the research subjects were 1 principal, 6 teachers and 6 students. Data collection techniques and research instruments include observation sheets and interview guidelines—data analysis using an interactive analysis model from Miles and Huberman. The study results show that the application of digital literacy in elementary schools is still not optimal. It is proven when conducting interviews and observations that the learning process is still teacher-centred and generally uses what app group digital literacy media is. In addition, the breakthrough about digital literacy in the school environment is still lacking, so that the implementation of digital literacy is only limited to understanding. Barriers experienced include students having difficulty understanding the material and limited internet quota. Therefore, to maximize the implementation of digital literacy in elementary schools, programs such as conducting training, manuals and digital literacy infrastructure are needed.

The school environment is also an inhibiting factor for students. For example, the way the lesson is presented is not good. In addition, there are still many parents who ignore the education of their students. This has an impact on students' low English skills. This study aims to analyze family and school conditions on students' English achievement. This research is a correlational study. The research subjects were all students of the class with 24 students. The method used to collect data is observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The instrument used in data collection is a questionnaire. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative statistics, and quantitative. The study results are that family conditions have a positive effect on learning achievement in learning English. This shows that when family conditions improve, student achievement will also increase. Partial test (t-test) obtained t count variable influence of family conditions = 6.607 so that Ha X1 against Y is accepted. Variable influence of school conditions t count = 3.019 so that Ha X2 to Y is accepted. The practical contribution of family conditions is 21.316%, school conditions are 39.678%. The key is that there is a simultaneous influence of family and school conditions on learning English subjects.

Psychological interventions are proposed to cancer survivors to support their quality of life against the emotional trauma of cancer and the side effects of treatment. Psychological interventions often require patient engagement and commitment to activities that could be more or less demanding in terms of lifestyle change (e.g., psychotherapy, sports). Analyzing participant motivations (personal aims, expectations, needs) prior to participation is useful to predict their adherence to the intervention as well as final outcomes. Yet, participant motivations may evolve during the intervention because the intervention experience turns out to be meaningful and positively challenging. The present study aimed to obtain a preliminary understanding of the process of motivation change in female cancer survivors who participated in a sport-based intervention to promote quality of life by employing a grounded theory approach. Data analysis took place alongside data collection and according to the procedure of grounded theory (“open coding”, “axial coding”, and “selective coding”) in order to describe the process of motivation change during women’s participation in psychological intervention for quality of life. On 14 women interviewed, 13 reported changing their motivation to participate during the first months of involvement, mostly changing from individualistic to group-related motivations (i.e., from self-care to friendship with other participants and enriching group membership), and from physical to psychological growth (i.e., pursuing not only physical health but also self-fulfillment). The discussion explains the preliminary aspects of the motivation change process and highlights the importance to monitor motivation dynamics within psychological interventions.

Orientation: Organisations compete fiercely to recruit the best graduates, because they consider them a rich source of future talent. In the recruitment literature, it has become increasingly important to understand the factors that influence graduate applicant intentions. Research purpose: Drawing on the theory of planned behaviour (TPB), we tested a model proposing that applicant intention is a function of their attitude towards applying, beliefs about referent other’s expectations (subjective norms) and perceived behavioural control with respect to this behaviour.Motivation for the study: The study was motivated by the need to shed light on graduate applicants’ decisions to apply to an organisation of their choice. Research approach, design and method: The study used a quantitative design to test hypotheses that attitudes towards behaviour, norms and control beliefs would influence intention to apply. We surveyed prospective job seekers (N = 854) studying at a South African university about their beliefs regarding the job application process. Main findings: Structural equation modelling showed reasonable fit of the proposed model to the survey data. Latent variable analysis demonstrated that perceived behavioural control and subjective norm explained intention to apply. With the combination of all three variables, only attitude towards applying did not play a significant role in the prediction of intention to apply, which is contrary to previous research. Practical/managerial implications: The findings highlight the role of salient control beliefs in the application process. Efforts by universities and organisations to affect intentions to apply may potentially benefit from focusing on support services that could enhance feelings of control and minimise perceived obstacles. Recruiters could focus on control to increase potential recruitment pools. Contribution/value-add: The study contributes to the recruitment literature in three ways. Firstly, TPB is shown to be a useful framework to explain graduate applicants’ intention to apply, as this theoretical model found empirical support. In doing so, the present study advances our understanding of how graduates’ intentions to apply are formed. Secondly, the results showed that applicants’ control and normative beliefs dominate when considering applying. Lastly, the study results open up interesting avenues for future research on applicant intentions.

Transition to secondary school is a significant childhood event, especially for the most vulnerable children. Many looked after children experience multiple episodes of instability, loss and change which can affect this move. Research shows that school belonging promotes acceptance, inclusion and respect, and impacts positively on school transfer and participation. Asking children for their views on matters that affect them can ease the process and increase their belonging and well-being. This article seeks to echo the voices of 36 children aged 10 to 12 who participated in a therapeutic primary to secondary transition initiative for looked after children. Informed by a participatory action research approach, its focus was to facilitate the child’s voice. Child-friendly, multi-method techniques and activities were used to elicit their views about the transition. Social connections, relationships, feeling safe and belonging within the school environment emerged as key themes. Children specifically highlighted the importance of friendships as a mechanism for supporting their belonging during this time. They also voiced the need for their social connections and belonging to be promoted. This unique intervention provides a framework for facilitating the voices of looked after children and underlines the need for practitioners to listen and understand moves from primary to secondary schools from the child’s perspective.

Objective - This study examines the relationship between perceived stress, athletic burnout and leisure amongst badminton players. Methodology/Technique - The research subjects were all first national ranking tournament badminton players in 2012. The study uses convenience sampling to conduct a questionnaire survey. 350 questionnaires were distrubuted, with 288 valid questionnaires being returned (male 195, female 93). The rate of effectiveness was 82%. All of the data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistic and hierarchical regression analysis. Findings – The research subjects were all first national ranking tournament badminton players in 2012. The study uses convenience sampling to conduct a questionnaire survey. 350 questionnaires were distrubuted, with 288 valid questionnaires being returned (male 195, female 93). The rate of effectiveness was 82%. All of the data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistic and hierarchical regression analysis. Novelty – The study highlights that badminton players who participate in leisure-based activities are able to effectively adjust their perception of pressure to a "reduced sense of accomplishment" which has an effect on athletic burnout. Additionally, the study results give rise to variety of proposed solutions or suggestions for dealing with burnout or stress. Tax compliance is the willingness of taxpayers to obey tax rules of a nation, whilst tax noncompliance is the unwilling behaviour of citizens to act under tax regulations. Taxpayer compliance enables the government to collect tax revenues, which is one of the most important sources of government income. Altering the non-compliant behaviour of citizens is an important barometer for increasing tax revenues that contribute to the socio-economic development of a nation. Numerous quondam studies have been conducted strikingly in the past few decades on taxpayer compliance. However, there is a dearth of sufficient research currently on tax noncompliance behaviour. Moreover, the phenomenon of tax noncompliance has limited exploration from the vantage point of meta-analysis of primary research studies conducted, focussing on interrogating, and systematically categorising their results. Resultantly, the purpose of this study was to examine the previously related primary studies to determine those factors that have been judged to have influenced the tax compliance behaviour of citizens. This study has adopted the quantitative research approach and followed the preferred reporting items for systematic review (PRISMA) method and meta-analysis to provide an accurate estimate of the relationship that exists in a population of relevant tax noncompliance behavioural studies. The population comprised of 45 international studies conducted between the period 2015 to 2020 is selected for analysis. The study results indicate that the quality of tax administration systems and public trust in institutional governance are factors that have influenced taxpayer compliance positively. Poor government accountability mechanisms entrenched tax gaps, and developing public trust in government institutions were found to be universal to promote voluntary taxpayer compliance. This study has contributed significantly to the open discussion on tax compliance among researchers, governments, and businesses.

Purpose Additive manufacturing of concrete (AMoC) is an emerging technology for constructing buildings. However, due to the nature of the concrete property and constructing buildings in layers, constraints and limitations are encountered while applying AMoC in architecture. This paper aims to analyze the constraints and limitations that may be encountered while using AMoC in architecture. Design/methodology/approach A descriptive research approach is used to conduct this study. First, basic notions of AMoC are introduced. Then, challenges of AMoC, including hardware, material property, control and design, are addressed. Finally, strategies that may be used to overcome the challenges are discussed. Findings Factors influencing the success of AMoC include hardware, material, control methods, manufacturing process and design. Considering these issues in the early design phase is crucial to achieving a successful computer-aided design (CAD)/computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) integration to bring CAD and CAM benefits into the architecture industry. Originality/value In three-dimensional (3D) printing, objects are constructed layer by layer. Printing results are thus affected by the additive method (such as toolpath) and material properties (such as tensile strength and slump). Although previous studies attempt to improve AMoC, most of them focus on the manufacturing process. However, a successful application of AMoC in architecture needs to consider the possible constraints and limitations of concrete 3D printing. So far, research on the potential challenges of applying AMoC in architecture from a building lifecycle perspective is still limited. The study results of this study could be used to improve design and construction while applying AMoC in architecture.

Purpose – The essence of strategy formulation is to assist an organisation obtain a strategic fit with its environment and help enhance organisational continuous improvement in achieving performance excellence. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the type of competitive strategies used by construction organisations in attaining their strategic goals in South Africa. Design/methodology/approach – The study employs an inductive research approach using a well-structured questionnaire to elicit information from large construction organisations based in South Africa. Findings – The research identifies five strategic attributes that could assist organisations to grow their businesses and enhance their returns. It reveals that all Porters’ generic competitive strategies are significantly related to organisational financial performance measures except focus strategy. The research found that three generic competitive strategies are positively related to non-financial performance and that differentiation and cost-leadership strategies are capable of assisting organisations’ achieve their financial performance goals. Practical implications – The study results will be of immense benefit to chief executive officers as well as managers of construction organisations in growing their businesses and enhancing their corporate performance. Originality/value – The paper contributes both theoretically and empirically to the current discussion and findings on competitive strategy and its relationship with organisational performance. The results presented in the paper have important implications for the implementation of competitive strategies in construction companies and future studies in the area of strategic management.

ABSTRACT  This study aims to describe the use of libraries in Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan 3 Elementary School Yogyakarta, including the presence of students in the library, student activities in the library, book collections in the library and services in the library. This study included qualitative descriptive research. Research subjects of principals, librarians, teachers and students. The object of this research is the use of school libraries. The validity of the data in this study uses data source triangulation and technique triangulation. The technique of collecting data through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Hubermen models which include data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the library at SD Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan 3 Yogyakarta in its utilization was very good. The use of the library is realized so that the library becomes the most important part of its existence in the school environment. In the use of libraries in SD Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan 3 Yogyakarta is seen from a complete collection of books, high numbers of student visits to libraries, utilization of library space for activities in teaching and learning processes, libraries are comfortable places for students to do assignments and libraries are a solution for students to borrow books when needing references when learning is taking place. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian kepala sekolah, petugas perpustakaan, guru dan siswa. Objek penelitian ini adalah pemanfaatan perpustakaan sekolah. Keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan trianggulasi sumber data dan trianggulasi teknik. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Hubermen yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan  di SD Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan 3 Yogyakarta  dalam pemanfaatannya sangat baik. Pemanfaatan perpustakaan diwujudkan agar perpustakaan menjadi bagian terpenting keberadaannya dalam lingkungan sekolah.  Dalam Pemanfaatan perpustakaan di SD Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan 3 Yogyakarata dilihat dari koleksi buku yang lengkap, tingginya angka kunjungan siswa ke perpustakaan, pemanfaatan ruang perpustakaan untuk kegiatan proses belajar mengajar, perpustakaan menjadi tempat yang nyaman bagi siswa untuk mengerjakan tugas dan  perpustakaan menjadi solusi bagi siswa untuk meminjam buku ketika membutuhkan referensi ketika pembelajaran sedang berangsung. Dalam pemanfaatan perpustakaan, siswa juga terbantu dengan pelayaan perpustakaan yang  baik.Kata kunci: Pemanfaatan perpustakaan, SD Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan.
