   Makila (Litsea angulata) is a type of commercial timber and is very attractive to many people because of good quality and can also be used as a medicine in curing rheumatic diseases should be assigned the paramount concern. cultivation / reproduce makila can be done in a fast way is through the nursery in the field. in nurseries should also pay attention to things that affect makila, one of which is related to the intensity of sunlight makila seedling growth. The research conducted at the location of the greenhouse Faculty of Agriculture, University of Pattimura which take place september until november 2014 with the aim to determine the seedling growth makila (Litsea angulata) to determine what percentage of shade is good for seedling growth makila (Litsea angulata). The experimental design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 (five) treatments, the seedlings without using Shade, Shade 30 percent, 50 percent Shade, Shade 65 percent, and Shade 75 percent. The results showed that the seedling Makila (Litsea angulata) is a kind of tolerance with all shade or kind makila able to grow in places that are open and shaded place.

This study aimed to determine the effect of ovaprim hormone, aromatase inhibitor and pituitary on the quality of the catfish eggs (Clarias gariepinus). Experimental Design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments, each with three replications. Treatment A: ovaprim; treatment B: Aromatase inhibitors, treatment C: hypophysis and treatment D: Control. The results showed that the difference in treatment gave highly significant effect on fertilization and hatching eggs but no significant effect on the survival rate of larvae. Aromatase inhibitor hormone was the best because it provided highly significant effect on fertilization (92.66%), hatchability of eggs (95%), and surviva rate (81.33%) of fish larvae.   Keywords : Clarias gariepinus. Background: Using young breadfruit to increase the breadfruit usability and economic value, one of the efforts is through the enrichment of the type of processed breadfruit products, breadfruit provides nutritional value that is beneficial to health, one of the help of breadfruit is increasing breadfruit for shredded products.Objectives: This study aims to find out how to improve young breadfruit 20%, 30%, 40% of the chemical properties (carbohydrate, protein, and fiber) of shredded tuna.Methods: This study used an experimental design with a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three preparations and three repetitions. Then the chemical tests (carbohydrate, protein, and fiber) at the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed Technology of the Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh.Results: The study results showed actual participation in young breadfruit 20%, 30%, and 40% of the chemical properties (carbohydrate, protein, and fiber) in shredded tuna with a p-value < 0.05.Conclusion: Agreeing that 20%, 30%, and 40% of young breadfruit were approved for shredded tuna's chemical properties (carbohydrate, protein, and fiber).

This research aimed to determine the effect of maceration time on the antioxidant activity of pegagan leaf extract and to determine the best maceration time with highest antioxidant activity of pegagan leaf extract. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design with maceration time duration there were 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, and 48 hours. All of the treatment repeated three times to obtained 18 units of experiments. The data analyzed by analyze of variance, if the treatment had a significant effect followed by The Duncan Test. The results showed that the maceration time treatment had a significant effect on yield, total phenolik, total flavonoid, total tannin and antioxidant activity of pegagan leaf extract. The 24 hour maceration time was the best treatment with antioxidant activity 66.67%, IC50 632.82 ppm, a yield of 24.30%, a total phenolik of 57.85 mgGAE / g, a total flavonoid of 105.28 mgQE / g. total tannin 54.09 mgTAE / g.

Field experiment was conducted at National Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT), Mbato Sub-station, Okigwe, Imo State, South-eastern Nigeria in the 2012 and 2013 cropping seasons to establish the most appropriate time to introduce component crops in cocoyam/cowpea mixture. Five different planting schemes (two and four weeks before, two and four weeks after and same day) and two cowpea genotypes (climbing Akidienu and erect IT97K-499-35) were used. The component crops were grown in monocultures to assess the productivity of the systems. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with three replicates. Growth and yield of cocoyam and the cowpea genotypes increased significantly (P<0.05) when either of the component crops was planted earlier than the other. Intercropping reduced significantly (P<0.05) cocoyam yield by 0.7 − 74% in IT97K-499-35 and 22 − 80% in Akidienu. Sowing the cowpea genotypes the same day or before cocoyam resulted in over-yielding of cowpea, whereas sowing Akidienu and IT97K-499-35 after cocoyam caused pod yield reductions of 64% − 73% and 32% − 59% on average, respectively. Cocoyam planted two weeks before IT97K-499-35 produced more satisfactory yields of the intercrops than the other planting schedules with LER, LEC and ATER of 2.15, 1.03 and 1.57, respectively.

Black garlic is a garlic that experiences warming at a certain temperature and time to find higher antioxidant activity. This research aimed to know effect of antioxidant content’s stability of extract BG to pH and temperature. The experimental design used in this research was a completely randomized design with replication, which consisted of two factors. The first factor was pH (4, 6 and 8). The second factor was temperature (30, 50 and 70ºC). Data were analyzed with analysis of variance, followed by Duncan test. The results showed that pH and processing temperature very influential to antioxidant activity, total phenolic and total flavonoid. The results showed that the best treatment was pH 4 and temperature 30ºC which the best resulted antioxidant activity, total phenolic and total flavonoid that stablest. The resulted of antioxidant activity, stability of total phenolic and total flavonoid that were 75,13%, 42,47% and 77,71%. The treatment of pH and processing temperature change compounds of extract black garlic. Myricetin and quercetin appeared on treatment pH 4 with temperature 30ºC and pH 8 with temperature 70 ºC. The treatment of pH and processing temperature of black garlic extract reduced antioxidant activity, total phenol and total flavonoid. pH and temperature form new compounds.

Nusa Penida island is one of center for seaweed culture in Bali province. Seaweed that cultured is Euchema spinosum and Euchema cottoni spread around coastal. There also found wild seaweed, such as Ulva sp and Gracillaria sp. Abalone (H. squamata) is one of kind Mollusca which high economic value, but abalone cultured is not yet develop in Nusa Penida island, although this island have high potency for developing abalone culture. Abalone culture needs seaweeds as a diet. The abundance of seaweeds as abalon diet is important for developing abalon culture in Nusa Penida Island in the future. The aim of this research was to asses the potency of seaweeds as diet for developing abalone culture in Nusa Penida island. Research was done in Batununggul village, Nusa Penida Island. Experimental design was used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were used different seaweeds as diet for abalone culture: (DG=Diet Gracillaria sp, DS=Diet Spinosum sp. and DU=Diet Ulva sp.). Abalon were cultured for 4 months by feeding the diet at satiation. Data analysis was used analysis varian (Anova) with SPSS. 16. The result showed abalon fed with Gracillaria sp (DG) at 4.73 g was the highest growth by 4.73 g, followed DU by 3.93 g and DS by 3.43 g. Meanwhile the abalon shell length fed with Gracillaria sp (DG) was the highest growth by 6.55 mm, followed DU by 5.97 mm and DS by 5.60 mm. Based on variant analysis showed growth performance (length shell and weight) abalon, all treatments were not significantly different (P>0.05). The conclusion this research, the three species of seaweed can be used as diet for abalone culture. These seaweeds have same potency as diet for developing abalone culture in Nusa Penida Island

This research was conducted to identify the effect of adding angkak on the color, antioxidant content, change the number of TBA sausage for six days of storage, sensory’s characteristic of mackerel fish sausage, and to identify the right percentage to adds angkak can improve the color, antioxidant content, and change the number of TBA for six days of storage, and sensory’s characterisctic of mackerel fish sausage. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD). Treatment factor was consist of six concentrations: 0%, 0,5%, 1%, 1,5%, 2%, and 2,5%. Each treatment had three replications so that obtained 18 units of trial. Observations were made on intensity of colour, antioxidant capacity, number of TBA, and organoleptic characteristics (hedonic test and scoring test). Data were analyzed by One-Way Analysis of Variance at level of 1% and 5% and continued by Duncan. The addition of angkak has affected very significant on color intensity, antioxidant capacity, number of TBA, color, taste, and overall acceptance, also significant on texture of mackerel fish sausage. On the others hand, it has not affected on flavor of mackerel fish sausage. The right concentration is obtained from the use of 1 % angkak. It has L*’s score 31,71; a*’s score 21,10; b*’s score 21,13; antioxidant capacity 53,37 mg GAEAC/kg; number of TBA for the 6th day 0,31 g malonaldehide/kg, color rather faded red and rather liked, flavor rather liked, texture liked, taste bitter weak and liked, and overall acceptance liked.

This research aims to determine the amount of erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels and hematocrit levels of laying hens which are given additional herbal medicine in feed by adding herbs. Jamu consists of a mixture of temulawak, lempuyang, ginger, bitter and turmeric, each in the same portion of 20%. A total of 40 laying hens aged 35 weeks are kept for one month. The experimental design uses a completely randomized design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 5 replications so that there are 20 units of experiment, each unit contains 2 chickens with additional feed, namely T0 (basal feed), T1 (basal feed plus 0.5% herbal medicine), T2 (basal feed plus 1% herbal medicine), T3 (basal feed plus 1.5% herbal medicine). Blood sampling was done at the end of the research to calculate the amount of erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels and hematocrit levels. The results showed hematocrit levels in chickens that were added additional herbs in the ration both at T1, T2 and T3 were different (P <0.05) with chickens that were not given additional herbs in the ration. The conclusion from the research conducted is the addition of herbal medicine can increase the profile of red blood in laying hens.Keywords: Blood profile, herbs, laying hens.

The aim of this research is to knowtime of death, mortality and changes in behavior of Oxya chinensis in the treatment of botanical insecticides root of the tuba. The research was conducted at Laboratory Citra Widya Edukasi Palm Oil Polytechnic in Bekasi, the experimental design was the Completely Randomized Design, the treatment consisted of A0 = deltamethrin 0.3 cc/100 ml, A1 = tuba root extract 3g/100ml, A2 = tuba root extract 4g/100ml , A3 = tuba root extract 5g/100ml. Each treatment was repeated three times and each replication contained of 3 samples. Data were analyzed using variance with 5% level, if there is a real effect then tested further with the test of the Least Significance Different. Making extracts by means of tuba roots chopped until smooth, mixed with 100 ml of water, saved for 3 days, then filtered and taken water and the application is sprayed. Pest control using chemical insecticides is more effective than botanical insecticides root of the tubabut 4g/100ml botanical insecticides toba root are also potentially in Oxya chinensis death at 39,51 minutes after the application. The application of chemical and botanical insecticides made from tubaroots causes Oxya chinensis to decrease activity than dies.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the ratio of gatot and red beans usage on water content and organoleptic characteristics from "Gatotkaca" analog rice. The material in this study was gatot (fermented cassava) and red beans. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. This study consisted of 4 different analog rice formulations, namely T1 (90% gatot: 10% red beans); T2 (85% gatot: 15% red beans); T3 (80% gatot: 20% red beans); T4 (75% gatot: 25% red beans). Data were analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with the significance level 5%. The results showed that the difference in the ratio of the usage of gatot but red beans didn’t have a significant effect (p>0.05) on the water content and organoleptic characteristics. Treatment with a ratio of gatot and 85% red beans  15% gatot was the best treatment.
