Educational city Bukittinggi has some Senior High School (SMA) and they are potential. Learning process is doing well but not optimal yet. Mathematics teacher find the difficulties in build, solve and interprete mathematical models based and real world problem. In other case, it is one of the mathematics learning objectives for SMA. This case gives the negative impact. If teacher knows the models of a problem, she/he will use in explaining the lessson, so that the students find the benefit of that mathematical concept. One way to solve this problem is give a workshop to teacher to construct mathematical model based on the real world context. In workshop teacher are teached how to model it, oriented to mathematical modelling. The objective of this workshop to help SMA mathematical teacher to model the real world problem, so that the problem solved. Workshop do with several analysis, they are analysis of need, orientation and discussion. Result that teacher reach are they are motivated to study how to model mathematical problem and they understand how to model it.

The study concerned here was to describe (1) the characteristics of humanistic mathematics learning and (2) the stages to actualize such learning. The said study was a qualitative one employing the phenomenological approach with six stages of inductive analysis. The data were validated by using the data source triangulation technique. The study involved 75 students of an elementary school, SD Mangunan, Berbah, Sleman, 36 students of a state senior high school, SMA Negeri 1 of Sewon, Bantul, and 42 students of another state senior high school, SMA Negeri 1 of Dlingo, Bantul. The results of the validation showed that the data were valid and consistent. The conclusions of the study are as follows. (1) Humanistic mathematics learning is characterized by the facts that the use of the mathematics learning media gives students space and time to explore and construct mathematical concept understanding and mathematics learning methods are applied by using an inductive approach. (2) The stages to realize humanistic mathematics learning include the setting of mathematics learning objectives based on humanism, existentialism, and religious teachings by building individual students’ strengths through independent and civilized manners, the setting of mathematics learning goals emphasizing balance among the domains of idea, intention, and action, and the setting of the development of contextual and cooperative mathematics learning strategies. Keywords: humanization, mathematics learning

Culture-based education has a vital role of individuals and communities to achieve progressivity in all aspects of life. Math-based culture called ethnomathematics is an approach that can be used to explain the role of mathematics in a multicultural society. Mathematical concepts used to explore the existence of mathematics in culture, especially traditional societies of Lampung. This study aims to describe the results of exploration Lampung Ethnomathematics with this kind of exploratory research as well as an ethnographic approach. The results showed that without studying the mathematical concept, traditional society of Lampung have applied these concepts in their daily lives using ethnomathematics. Proved the existence of mathematical concepts contained in custom home building, the local unit of Lampung, geometric shapes motif of tapis, as well as traditional games Lampung. Researchers suggest the results of this study to (a) used as alternative ideas mathematics learning outside the classroom, (b) introduced in learning formal mathematics as initial capital to teach the concept of mathematics to students, (c) be used as reference material for preparing a matter of mathematical problem-solving context.

Abstract: There is an increasing concern as if discussing politics in pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) was uncommon. This oddity is due to the conception of a person who puts pesantren merely a decontextualised scholarly reproduction of an-sich (from the real world problem or real politics) and not as an agent of change. In fact, pesantren is a replica of life integrating various life skills, including politics. The most interesting finding was that the diverse activities of life in the boarding school had raised the seedling of students’ political sense. This article also recommends the presence of political boarding school establishment, as a political incubator for Islamic activists as the continuity of conditioning political awareness in pesantren. Its realization is believed to be able to trigger the acceleration of the Islamic ideal leader candidate in Indonesia.

“Why do I have to do this math? This is not something I need to know. I will not use it when I get out of school!” exclaimed Jesse and some of his classmates. Have you ever heard these comments? In the past, my students were learning the concepts, hut they were not associating the importance of mathematics and its uses in the real world. This year, I have tried to show the students in my eighth-grade mathematics class how mathematics will apply to their lives, whether they work on a ranch, work in the oil fields, or get a higher education after high school.

Purpose Cyberspace is a virtual environment where instantaneous communications are initiated and consumed using computer networks without any natural or artificial boundaries. These communications are not only an exchange of information but also a catharsis on the socio-political environment of the real world. This explosion of electronic expression is often detrimental to the traditional secretive maneuvers of nation states and the exercise of its power. Unable to come to terms with the new reality nation states through legislative action or otherwise attempt to assert its sovereignty in the space that has no political and societal boundaries. This may lead to an encroachment on basic human rights that often have constitutional guarantees in the real world but may be violated in the online milieu. This paper aims to investigate this issue in detail and evaluate whether nation states are using cyber-security as a propaganda tool to transgress on electronic expression. Design/methodology/approach The Website of the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights states “In December 2013, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 68/167, which expresses deep concern at the negative impact that surveillance and interception of communications may have on human rights”. It further says “The General Assembly called on all States to review their procedures, practices and legislation related to communications surveillance, interception and collection of personal data and emphasized the need for States to ensure the full and effective implementation of their obligations under international human rights law”. With this development, this paper seeks to unravel the role of nation states in using cybersecurity as a propaganda tool by raising the specter of threat to national security and economic wellbeing. The paper is based on exploratory research with data compilation from secondary sources. To collect data, various research papers, books and journals have been referenced and data available in public domain has been accumulated. Findings This paper has tried to unravel state action on cyberspace which often runs counter to the concept of civil liberties. It indicates that in terms of both national security and economic impact, cybercrime represent a very nominal threat vector. Also, cybercrime as compared with other forms of crime is again nominal. Finally, cyber laws and policies of different countries need to be more nuanced such as to allow space for civil liberties. Overall, the propaganda surrounding the malaise of cybercrime seems to be more hype than real. We already have examples of countries who have transgressed into electronic expression in cyber space. Therefore, UN has a valid reason to raise a red flag on this unfolding issue. Originality/value This paper was published at 21st Americas Conference of Information Systems held at Puerto Rico, USA, between August 13-15, 2015 (AMCIS, 2015). Information plays an important role in modern society. In this paper, we presented a mathematical model of information spreading with isolation. It was found that such a model has rich dynamics including Hopf bifurcation. The results showed that, for a wide range of parameters, there is a bistable phenomenon in the process of information spreading and thus the information cannot be well controlled. Moreover, the model has a limit cycle which implies that the information exhibits periodic outbreak which is consistent with the observations in the real world.

Problem solving must be developed and internalized in mathematics
learning, so students have problem solving skills that students can
transfer to their daily lives when facing problems or difficulties.
There is a mental attitude that affects a person's success to become a
successful problem solver, namely adversity quotient. This mental
attitude affects the mindset and emotions so it is not easy to give up
in solving problems. This study aims to measure the relationship
between adversity quotient and problem solving abilities of junior
high school students in mathematics learning. This research is a
correlation study. The population was students of SMPN 1 Padang
Panjang 2014/2015 academic year, while 32 samples were selected
by purposive sampling. The data was collected using an adversity
quotient scale and a mathematical problem solving ability test. Data
were analyzed by regression correlation techniques. The results of
data analysis showed a correlation coefficient between adversity
quotient variables with mathematical problem solving abilities of r =
0.756> rtable (0.297), meaning that there was a significant positive
relationship between adversity quotient and mathematical problem
solving abilities. The coefficient of determination obtained is r2 =
0.572 indicating that adversity quotient has an effect of 57.2% on
mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school
students, while 42.8% is influenced by other factors

Abstract Gender issues become hot phenomena today. The demand for equality in education, economy, politics, social and culture is so strong that it tries to stop gender issues rush. It occurs when women feel that there is unfairness between women and men rights. The unfairness is in the form of subordination, marginalization, inequality in responsibility and also women stereotype. The writer tries to find out the gender issues in the English Reference Book for 2nd year students of Senior High School entitled Informational English written by Bambang Kiswanto and Tony Rogers and published by Widya Utama in 2005. He investigates the use of language and also pictures which shows gender issues. Then, he compares it with theories and also facts in the real world. The writer finds that there are some gender issues in the book. They are in the form of inequality in the percentage of women and men pictures, the use of English pronouns, professions, emotion expressed in texts, famous persons, artists and also characterizations. In conclusion, the book illustrates some gender issues which often occur in the real life.
