The article reviews the results of the authors’ research on the possibility of using the magnetic field strength generated by DC traction motors as a useful signal carrying information about weight of cargo transported by a mining dump truck. The objective of the research was to find a way to determine weight of cargo carried by a mining dump truck. In contrast to the existing onboard weighing systems, it becomes possible to create a compact autonomous device that does not require integration of sensors into the body structure and electrical circuits of the truck.Problems of increasing the efficiency of measuring devices based on fluxgate converters are considered with the view of using them as onboard systems for estimating cargo weight. The sensitivity of the fluxgate sensor can be increased by increasing both the amplitude and the effective value of the voltage applied to its excitation winding. The proposed original circuit for feeding the fluxgate sensor’s excitation winding from a modulated signal generator made on logical elements allows increasing the voltage supplied to the fluxgate sensor’s excitation winding without increasing the supply voltage, and by increasing voltage surges at the fronts of rectangular modulated high-frequency pulses, as well as due to resonant phenomena. The use of such a generator excludes the influence of the fluxgate sensor’s excitation winding on the generator frequency, since the frequency of modulating signals becomes the operating frequency of the fluxgate sensor, and it remains unchanged. The increased sensitivity makes it possible to install the sensor in any convenient place in the dump truck cab, and not in the immediate vicinity of traction motors.Evaluation of cargo weight is carried out during movement of the dump truck along the control section of the road. The readings are taken from an ammeter (milliammeter), the scale of which is pre-calibrated in mass units. Measurements of mass should be carried out under the same modes of dump truck movement and with the same location of the fluxgate sensor as when calibrating the scale of the measuring device. The control section of the route on which the measurements are carried out must be the same or similar to the one on which the measuring device was calibrated. The proposed device is distinguished by ease of use, is characterised by low energy consumption, is compact, does not contain expensive elements and does not require careful maintenance.

The article discusses an on-board weighing system for the load of a mining dump truck, which simplifies measurements and, unlike existing systems, does not require the integration of sensors into the structure and electrical circuits of the truck and represents a compact, autonomous device that can be located at any convenient place in the cab. In order to create such a device, it is proposed to use the magnitude of the magnetic field strength generated by DC traction motors as a signal carrying information about the mass of the transported cargo. To measure the magnetic field strength, a flux gate is used, which converts the magnitude of the magnetic field strength into the magnitude of the current. An original circuit for powering the fluxgate excitation winding using a modulated signal generator based on logic elements is proposed. The used power supply scheme allows to exclude the influence of the fluxgate excitation winding on the generator frequency, as well as to increase the fluxgate sensitivity, which makes it possible to install the sensor in any convenient place in the dump truck cabin, and not in the immediate vicinity of the traction motors.

The rear multi-stage cylinder direct-acting hydraulic body hoist mechanism is widely used in mining dump truck. The working principle of the body hoist mechanism is introduced. The dumping process is simplified through the introduction of “dumping line” and the variation of ore mass and hoist torque are analyzed. The optimization design of the position of body hoist mechanism is done using Maple software on the basis of direct search method aimed at minimizing the initial hoist force and the stroke of cylinder and maximizing the hoist force arm when the second stage cylinder starts to stretch out.

Several variants of half division two-dimensional method are proposed, which is the basis of a fundamentally new approach for constructing measuring instruments for sinusoidal or periodic electrical quantities. These measuring instruments are used in the diagnosis of electric power facilities. The most general variant, called midpoint method, is considered. The proposed midpoint method allows you to measure much smaller than using widespread methods, alternating currents or voltages, especially when changing the amplitude of the measured signal in very wide ranges, by 1–2 orders of magnitude. It is shown that using the midpoint method it is possible to suppress sinusoidal or periodic interference in the measuring path, in particular, to measure small alternating current when sinusoidal or periodic interference is 1–2 orders of magnitude higher than the useful signal. Based on the results of comparative tests, it was found that the current measuring device implementing the midpoint method is an order of magnitude more sensitive than the currently used high-precision measuring instruments.

Agricultural tasks result in significant strain on the arms, thereby necessitating posture support. One such task is measuring the photosynthetic capacity of individual leaves. This task requires the operator to hold a measuring device for long periods, which is physically demanding. This study aims to develop an assist suit to reduce the physical load involved in photosynthesis measurement work. We used work posture evaluation methods to quantify the workload of this task and identified the parts of the body at high-risk of injury. Then, we designed an assist suit based on the required specifications and verified its effectiveness.

dominant human gait could be a dynamic and time crucial activity and so it needs a true time management surroundings. the most objective is to regain the walking ability for semi-paralyzed stroke affected patients and to assist them walk severally with none support. MEMS measuring device device senses the walking movements of the patient’s healthy leg. By victimisation these values as reference, microcontroller is programmed and interfaced to the motor fastened within the body covering device. Microcontroller is employed to manage the motor in line with the input given by the measuring device. Microcontroller is programmed victimisation PIC CCS Compiler software system. Associate in Nursing body covering device for semi paralytic patients is developed to exercise their muscles and to revive the sensation of walking in their legs at a way lower value than that is offered on the market nowadays

The article considers an approach to determining the permissible ranges of changes in the armature voltage, armature current and the excitation coefficient of the DC traction motor of a mining dump truck to ensure satisfactory commutation. When the DC motor is running in the specified modes, the probability of sparking in the collector-brush unit with a degree of 2 points will be minimal. A method for determining the permissible operating modes of a mining dump truck traction motor to ensure satisfactory commutation is proposed. The method allows, based on the analysis of experimental data, to determine the permissible ranges of changes in voltage, armature current and excitation coefficient, at which the degree of sparking does not exceed 1½ points

The possible impact of the presence of the strut portion of a Pitot tube on the efficacy of the tube as a velocity-measuring device has been evaluated by numerical simulation. At sufficiently low Reynolds numbers, there is a possibility that the precursive effects of the strut could alter the flow field adjacent to the static taps on the body of the Pitot tube and might even affect the impact pressure measured at the nose. The simulations were performed in dimensionless form with the Reynolds number being the only prescribed parameter, but the dimensions were taken from a short-shanked Pitot tube. Over the Reynolds number range from 1500 to 4000, a slight effect of the strut was identified. However, the variation due to the presence of the shank of the velocity measured by the Pitot tube operating in that range of Reynolds numbers was only 1.5%.
