The purpose of this research is to identify the influence of GDP growth rate, bank interest rate, inflation rate, capital adequacy ratio, and return on asset towards non-performing loans in Chinese commercial banks partially and simultaneously. This study has applied descriptive statistical analysis, classical hypothesis testing, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing. When selecting the observation data, this research adopts the intentional sampling method and panel data, 70 units of observational data in total, one part of the data was taken from the financial reports of seven selected sample companies on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in China, and another part of the data was taken from the kyle website. The method used in a quantitative approach with the instrument is EViews 10. The result indicates that BIR and IFR have a partially negative significant influence on NPL. However, GDP growth rate, CAR, and ROA have a negative insignificant effect on NPL. Simultaneously, all of the independent variables have a significant effect on NPL which is described by the value of 63.9% and the left 36.1% is explained by another factor that is excluded in this study. Furthermore, IFR was chosen as the most significant factor which influences NPL.

This study measures and compares the profit and cost efficiencies of Thai commercial banks between 1990 and 2008 which has been subdivided into the pre-crisis, the financial crisis, and the post-crisis periods. The efficiency scores are measured using a combination of parametric and non-parametric frontier approach. Both average profit and cost efficiency levels of the post-crisis period are found to be significantly lower than those of the pre-crisis period. The evidence also indicates that the real GDP growth rate and some general and financial characteristics are correlated with the efficiency level of Thai commercial banks.

This research is focusing on evaluation of the impact of credit risk on the profitability of selected commercial banks listed on National Stock Exchange. The financial ratios are taken as a proxy to evaluate credit risk and bank’s profitability. Profitability was measured through Return on Equity and Return on Assets whereas credit risk was measured by Pre-Provision Profit to Total Loans and Advances, Loan to Asset Ratio, Capital Adequacy Ratio, Credit to Deposit Ratio and Advances over Loan Funds. Based on the financial information of 2009 to 2017, the study concludes that Credit risk, as calculated from Pre-Provision Profit to Total Loans and Advances, Loan to Asset Ratio, Capital Adequacy Ratio, Credit to Deposit Ratio and Advances over Loan Funds have a non-significant relationship with profitability measured by Return on Assets whereas there is significant relationship exist only between Advances over Loan Funds and profitability measured by Return on Equity. The regression model of ROE shows the model is significant as compared to ROA model. The present study employed Auto Correlation and Durbin-Watson statistics, Unit root test & Multi-Collinearity tests to measure the robustness of time series data. Also the results of the regression analysis show that there exist a negative correlation between credit upon deposit ratio and return on equity. As per the current study, the Indian banks has to keep check on advances upon total funds ratio, as it was found most significant factor impacting the profitability of Indian banks.

In 2020, the implementation of a merger between three Islamic Commercial Banks which are subsidiaries of the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) Bank has been determined. Where the data is processed and analyzed using Linear Data Panel regression through Stata 16. The performance of the three Islamic Commercial Banks before the merger showed good results. Over the last five years, CAR and NPF have performed satisfactorily. FDR and BOPO have slightly deviated from the minimum or maximum limits. Next, the growth in deposits was an average of 15.89333%. All of these bank performance variables, after data processing, show that the variables CAR, FDR, NPF, OEOI, and TPF growth together have a significant effect on ROA. Meanwhile, partially, CAR, NPF, and TPF growth have not a significant effect on ROA. However, FDR and BOPO have a significant effect on ROA. Where through this research it is hoped that in the future it can be a consideration for PT Bank Syariah Indonesia, Tbk to obtain good performance and high profitability growth. Keywords: CAR, FDR, NPF, OEOI, TPF Growth, ROA, Islamic Commercial Banks
