<pre><em><span lang="EN-US">The research is aimed to know; 1) interaction of inquiry learning  method application and discussion on communication ability and student’s mathematics  problem solving skills on multivariate. 2) the impacts of learning method on mathematics communication ability on univariat.3) the impacts of learning method on mathematics problem solving skills on univariat. This research is false experiment used non equivalent control group design with 2 factors  measurement technique. The instrument is essay test (problem solving and communication question). This research was conducted at public SMP in Palmerah distric, west Jakarta. The sample is the students of class VIII about 140 students. Data analyze used MANOVA analysis. The result of this research is: 1) there are significant impacts of learning method on communication ability and mathematics problem solving skills on multivariate. 2) there are significant impacts of learning method on mathematics communication ability on univariat 3) there isn’t significant impact of learning method on mathematics problem solving skill.</span></em></pre>

The background of this research is the mathematics problem solving skill of students that had not been developed optimally. One of the learning models that’s expected to increase problem solving skills is LAPS (Logan Avenue Problem Solving)-Heuristic. The aim of this research is to compare the increase of mathematics problem solving skill between students who were taught by using LAPS-Heuristic model and conventional method. The kind of this research was quasi experimental by using nonequivalent control group design. Sample selection method used was cluster sampling that was obtained from grade VIII.3 as the experimental group learning using LAPS-Heuristic and VIII.2 as control group learning using conventional learning in SMPN 9 Tangerang. Instrument that was used in this research were test of mathematics problem solving and worksheet. The n-gain acquired from the experimental class amounted to 0.379 and 0.261 for the control class. Based on test results obtained by the hypothesis the t-value is greater than t'. The result of this research shows that the increase of mathematics problem solving skill of students who were taught by using LAPS-Heuristic model was higher than those taught with conventional method.

This study aims to investigate the effect of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics-Project Based Learning (STEM-PjBL) and discovery learning on students' problem-solving abilities. The research is a Quasi-Experiment with a Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The participants involved are 53 students of class X from a high school in Malang, where 28 students studied with STEM-PjBL, and 25 students studied with discovery learning. This research was conducted on the subject of impulse and momentum. In this analysis, researchers have developed problem-solving tools with a particular field approach to impulse and momentum topics in order to obtain an instrument with a reliability of  0.81. This instrument collects student problem-solving data before and after learning both in the experimental class and in the comparison class. Problem-solving skills data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed a significant difference in the scores of students' problem-solving abilities in the experimental class and the comparison class (p<0.05). The problem-solving ability in the experimental class (Md=78.74) was higher than the comparison class (Md=70.00). In STEM-PjBL learning, students are better trained and challenged to solve problems in everyday life. Compared to the comparison class, learning in the experimental class is more able to accommodate students' ideas and make students more interested in learning. In conclusion, STEM-PjBL has a significant positive effect on improving students' problem-solving abilities rather than discovery learning.

Problem-solving skill is required by students and a target in studying mathematics. However, the problem-solving skill of Indonesian students are lacking. One effort that can be done is applying the Model of Learning Cycle 5E.  This research discussed the influence of the implementation of the learning cycle model on mathematics problem-solving skill viewed from students’ adversity quotient. This research used a quantitive approach, quasi-experimental study. The subjects were the 8th Grade students of SMP IT Ash-Shiddiiqi Jambi, consisting of two experiment classes and one control class. The instruments were post-test and adversity quotient questionnaire modified by Stoltz and had been validated by experts. Data analysis was conducted by Two-Way ANOVA. The results showed that there was no interaction between the learning cycle 5E model and mathematics problem-solving skill. This finding indicates that the model of learning cycle 5E affects problem-solving skills and can be applied to students with all types of adversity quotient.

This context based Mathematics problem solving has been shown to have direct efforts on students’ bearing. This study compares the cognitive and affective effects of the Context-Based and Traditional approach on voc-tech students from the two programs. Quantitative data were collected using a Pretest and Posttest examination in mathematics problem solving to assess the levels of students’ problem solving performance and an attitude, beliefs and confidence (A-B-C) questionnaire to assess the voc-tech students’ attitude, belief and confidence. For qualitative analysis, the students’ journals, interview responses, and the teacher−observers’ and raters’ notes and comments were analyzed. The results showed that the students have a very low analytic level and limited content knowledge in mathematics prior the intervention. However, the context-based approach enhanced the students’ problem solving skills as exhibited by the numerically higher scores and improvement in the quality of the experimental class’ solutions and responses to the problem solving posttest. After the treatment, statistical tests revealed that the contextbased approach had a significant effect on the voc-tech students on certain topics of mathematics in terms of approach, program and ability level. Results also revealed that the experimental group showed a significant improvement in their attitude and beliefs in mathematics problem solving compared to their counterparts in the control group. Comparing the posttest results by program, the BS students are significantly higher than the BIT students in their overall problem solving scores as well as the BIT and BS students in the experimental class.   Keywords - Mathematics, context based, Mathematics problem solving, attitude, belief, confidence, Voc-tech students, Iloilo, Philippines

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran perolehan konsep berbasis masalah  terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan pemahaman konsep fisika peserta didik  kelas XI MIA MAN 1 Mataram. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIA 1 sebanyak 37 peserta didik sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIA 2 sebanyak 38 peserta didik sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan berupa model pembelajaran perolehan konsep berbasis masalah sedangkan kelas kontrol diberi perlakuan berupa pembelajaran konvensional. Tes uraian digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika peserta didik berjumlah 5 butir soal dan tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep fisika peserta didik sebanyak 10 butir soal yang sudah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda dan tingkat kesukarannya. Hipotesis penelitian diuji menggunakan uji MANOVA. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,00. Taraf signifikan yang digunakan ialah 0,05 maka dapat dikatakan 0,00 < 0,05 yang artinya bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran perolehan konsep berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan pemahaman konsep fisika peserta didik kelas XI MIA MAN1 Mataram. Kata kunci: model pembelajaran perolehan konsep berbasis masalah; kemampuan pemecahan masalah; pemahaman konsep. ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the effect of the learning model of problem-based concept acquisition on problem solving abilities and understanding of physics concepts of students of class XI MIA MAN 1 Mataram. This research is a quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of this study were 37 XI MIA 1 students as experimental class and 38 MIA 2 XI students as control class. The experimental class given treatment problem-based concept learning model while the control class given treatment conventional learning. Description test is used to measure the students 'physical problem-solving abilities totaling 5 items and multiple choice tests to measure students' understanding of physics concepts by 10 items that have been tested for validity, reliability, distinguishing power and degree of difficulty. The research hypothesis was tested using the MANOVA test. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.00. Significant level used is 0.05, it can be said to be 0.00 <0.05, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha accepted, so can be concluded that there are significant acquisition of concept-based learning model on problem solving skills and understanding of physics concepts of students of class XI MIA MAN 1 Mataram. Keywords: concept attainment learning model of problem based; problem solving abilities; understanding concept

In this industrial revolution 4.0 era, professional science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) bachelor must have various skills. One of which is problem-solving skills. The development of problem-solving skills (PSS) is very important in higher education. Students must have PSS that must be improved to become excellent graduates, including physics bachelor candidates. Many physics bachelor candidates lack problem-solving skills. This problem is the basis for developing innovative learning models based online that, by design, can improve the problem-solving skills of physics bachelor candidates in the COVID-19 pandemic. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness ORNE learning model in improving the problem-solving skills of physics bachelor candidates as an alternative to online learning in the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design used a true-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design with 58 physics bachelor candidates. Data collected using the problem-solving skills test and then analyzed using the Paired Sample Test, Effect Size, N-gain, and Independent Sample Test. The results showed that the ORNE learning model proved effective in improving physics bachelor candidates' problem-solving skills. This research implies that the ORNE learning model can improve physics bachelor candidates' problem-solving skills as an alternative to online learning in the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 on Education in Indonesia affects school activities rapidly. Teachers are no longer educated in classrooms only, but they can also utilize technology to conduct distance learning. One interactive application that can be used as a form of question exercise is Quizizz. Therefore, this research aims to: first, examine the effectiveness of students' activities by using Quizizz on mathematical problem-solving skills; second, investigate the differences in the increase in students' ability to solve mathematical problems between the class with and without the Quizizz-aided learning method; third, describe the activities of students who used the Quizizz-aided drill learning method; and fourth, describe the students' responses in using Quizizz. The research was quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The participants in this study are 67 of Grade10 students divided into experimental and control classes. Data collection techniques used were tests for students' mathematical problem-solving skills and questionnaires. The instruments were validated using Pearson correlation, while the reliability was tested using Cronbach's Alpha. Then, the N-gain test was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there was an effect on students’ learning activities by using Quizizz on their problem-solving skills. Besides, there was a difference in the improvement of problem-solving skills between the class with and without Quizizz-aided. Furthermore, students’ activities in three meetings have increased. Moreover, students provided a positive response in learning using Quizizz. Thus, it can be concluded that Quizizz is effective in improving mathematical problem-solving skills.

ABSTRAKPendidikan bertujuan mendidik individu yang dapat menyelesaikan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah dapat dilatih dengan membiasakan peserta didik menyelesaikan sebanyak mungkin masalah melalui penerapan model pembelajaran yang tepat di kelas. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk mengintegrasikan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dengan bantuan post organizer dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan post organizer terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan non-equivalent control group design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Gerung dengan populasi seluruh peserta didik kelas XI MIPA tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yaitu kelas XI MIPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI MIPA 7 sebagai kelas kontrol. Indikator pemecahan masalah yang dinilai adalah useful description, specific application of physics, dan mathematical procedures. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t dua pihak dengan rumus t-test polled varians pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan post organizer terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika peserta didik. Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing; post organizer; kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika. ABSTRACTEducation aims to educate individuals who can solve problems in daily life. Problem solving skills can be trained by getting students to settle as many problems as possible through the application of appropriate learning models in the classroom. This research was designed to integrate the guided inquiry learning model with a post organizer in order to improve students' physics problem solving skills. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model assisted by the post organizer on students' physics problem solving skills. This research used quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Gerung with a population of all students of class XI MIPA in the academic year 2019/2020. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique, namely class XI MIPA 4 as an experimental class and XI MIPA 7 as a control class. Indicators of problem solving assessed were useful description, specific application of physics, and mathematical procedures. Hypothesis testing used two-party t-test with the formula of t-test polled variance at a significance level of 5%. The conclusion of this research indicatd that there was an influence of the guided inquiry learning model assisted by the post organizer on the students' physics problem-solving skills. Keywords: guided inquiry; post organizer; physics problem-solving skills.
