Solve a math problem using a context is a way that can be done by student to help them use their mathematics skills in everyday life. In addition problem using context will facilitate students in modeling the mathematics in context, so that will help the student to use their literacy skills in answering problem, and can challenge students' mathematical thinking patterns. The purpose of this study was to Generate PISA math models using context Lampung valid and practical. This research method is a type of research design development study. Subjects in this study were students of class IX SMP Ar-raihan Bandar Lampung and SMP YadikaNatar Lampung which has aged up to 15 years. The result of this study was 15 items PISA uses Lampung context of a valid and practical and have a potential effect on students' mathematical literacy skills.

Communication is one of the important things in the learning process because there will be social interactions that can make learning more lively. Through communication, students can understand and interpret understanding of mathematical problems, not only calculation problems but also mathematical problems in everyday life. This research aims to describe students' communication skills in solving mathematical literacy problems based on mathematical abilities. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subjects in this research were 27 students of class VIII in one of SMP Swasta in Sidoarjo. Subjects were given a mathematics ability test to categorize the subject's mathematical abilities into high, medium, and low-levels. The research data were obtained from the results of mathematics literacy tests and interviews conducted by 3 selected subjects. The results showed that 1) students with high mathematical abilities have a medium category of communication skills because students can fulfill the indicators of expression, interpretation, use of notations/symbols, and evaluation with correct answers without complete reasons, 2) students with medium mathematical abilities have a medium category of communication skills because students can fulfill the expression and interpretation indicators with correct answers along with correct and clear reasons, fulfill the indicators of using notations/symbols with correct answers without complete reasons, but students do not fulfill the evaluation indicators, and 3) students with low mathematical abilities have a very low category of communication skills because students can fulfill the expression and interpretation indicators with wrong answers but there is a reason, fulfill the indicators of using notations/symbols with correct answers but no reason, but students do not fulfill the evaluation indicators. Keywords: communication skills, written, mathematical literacy problems, mathematical abilities.

The goal of this research produces a set of HOT mathematics tasks with Indonesian heritage as a context that is valid and practical to assess the mathematical literacy of students in primary school. The participants of the study were 120 students in primary school. The data was collected through documentation, questionnaire, test result, and interviews. This is design research using a type of development research with formative evaluation. The mathematics task not only reviewed by 7 experts, who assess the context, content, and language of prototype but also beyond empirical evaluation of validation and reliability testing. The field test result showed that the HOT mathematics task has a potential effect on the mathematical literacy of primary school students.

This research aims to produce PISA-like problems that are valid, practical, and effective for assessing students' mathematical communication and problem solving abilities. This research type is formative evaluation development by Tessmer, including expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field test. The subject of this research is 60 students of Year 9 at SMP Negeri 19 Percontohan Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The results of this study yielded 15 PISA-like problems that are 1) valid because experts state that the set of questions developed is based on a strong theoretical basis, almost all problems have valid criteria, and the set of problems has high reliability; 2) practical because teachers agree that the problems can assess students' mathematical communication and problem solving abilities; 3) effective because mathematical communication and problem solving abilities of students meet PISA levels and students give positive responses to PISA-like problems. The implication of this research is that mathematics teachers can use this problem to familiarize students in answering PISA-like problems, primarily to assess mathematical communication and problem solving abilities.

This study aimed to produce a set of PISA-like mathematics problems content of uncertainty and data using long jump context in Asian Games that were valid, practical and had potential effects on the ability of the students’ mathematical literacy. This study used the design research method of development studies type in two stages, preliminary and formative evaluation. The subject of this study involved 34 students of Senior High School. The result of this study was a set of PISA-like mathematics problems using long jump context in Asian Games which were valid, practical, and had potential effects. The result of students’ answer analysis showed some strategies and arguments used by students. In question 1, 3 out of 34 students were involved in representation, reasoning and argument ability, 31 out of 34 students were involved in reasoning and argument ability. In question 2, 30 out of 34 students were involved in representation and reasoning and argument ability, and 4 out of 34 students were involved in communication, representation, reasoning and argument ability. Also, using the PISA-like mathematics problems with long jump context made students more interested and active during the learning process.

This study produced a prototype of Riemann's number of teaching materials based on APOS theory. The student activity sheet (LAM) based on APOS theory was designed to help students understand the integral of the subject matter of Riemann quantities. The teaching materials design process was divided into two stages, namely preliminary study and formative evaluation. In the preliminary study stage, the researchers prepared and designed teaching materials in the form of student activity sheets for the subject of Riemann's Amount based on the APOS theory (Action, Process, Object, and Scheme). In the formative evaluation stage, researchers evaluated and revised the results of the design of teaching materials. The evaluation results in the form of comments and suggestions were used to revise the products produced, namely the first, second, and third prototypes. From these three stages, the first prototype that the researcher designed was revised based on the comments from the validator, namely expert review and several students. The second prototype was revised based on comments from several groups of students in small groups. The third prototype was the final design result used for field testing at the field test stage. The trials conducted showed that the goal of producing a product design that had a potential effect (usability) in the mathematics learning process had been achieved.

Various studies show that Indonesian students' mathematics literacy is very low. The low level of mathematics literacy is influenced by many factors including the fact that mathematics learning does not relate to culture. The term used to relate mathematics to culture is called Ethnomatematics. The purpose of this study is to determine the learning trajectory of geometrical transformation based on Ethnomatematics of Traditional Balinese Houses that can improve mathematical literacy. This type of research used is a design research type validation study consisting of 3 phases, namely: (1) preparation of experiments, (2) experiments, and (3) retrospective analysis. The study was conducted of Laboratory Undiksha Junior High School. The data of this study were collected by observation, interviews, and tests. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the learning trajectory of geometry transformation begins with the giving of problems, phenomena, patterns, pictures, which are related to Ethnomatematics of Traditional Balinese Houses. Furthermore, students conduct investigations individually or in pairs related to mathematical ideas that exist in Ethnomatematics. Through discussion, students construct mathematical knowledge. Another result is that students become more enthusiastic in learning, and students' abilities in solving mathematics literacy problems become better.
