This article presents a research review of automotive vocational lecturers in Indonesia obtained from google scholar during 2016-2018. We found more than 500 articles on google scholar produced by 277 lecturers from automotive vocational programs. However, through data filtering, there are only 208 publications related to automotive, including the development of learning media in VHE. Looking at the world automotive research trend (which leads to major issues regarding battery systems, downsizing and turbocharging, and advanced combustion modes), and with concerns about the availability of fossil energy, major and fundamental reforms are needed for research activities in automotive vocational lecturers in Indonesia, both in terms of topic and depth of research material. As a recommendation, stakeholders in automotive vocational programs in universities should immediately form a research roadmap together and form a national automotive research consortium in order to contribute in realizing environmentally friendly vehicle technology and a sustainable national transportation system.

The current health requirements set the direction in pharmacological research, especially as regards diseases that require improvement of existing therapeutic regimens. Such diseases include preeclampsia, which is a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy during which there occurs progressive increasing activation of the immune system through elevation of pro-inflammatory cytokines and antiangiogenic factors, which is dangerous for the mother and fetus. A promising field of research for new drugs to treat this disease is the study of natural phenolic compounds of plant origin and herbal extracts, which are complex matrices of chemical compounds with broad biological activities. Many plant substances with anti‑inflammatory and anti‑hypertensive properties are known, but studies in animal models of preeclampsia and clinical trials concerning this disease constitute a new and developing research trend of significant medical importance. The aim of our research review was to identify and analyze the results of already available studies on baicalin, curcumin, epigallocatechin gallate, punicalagin, quercetin, resveratrol, salvianolic acid A (danshensu), silibinin, and vitexin, as well as plant extracts from Brassica oleracea L., Euterpe oleracea Mart., Moringa oleifera Lam., Punica granatum L., Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertner, Thymus schimperi Ronniger, Uncaria rhynchophylla (Miq.) Miq. ex Havil., and Vitis vinifera L., which are potential and promising candidates for further research and for potential new therapies.

Aim: The ambitious goals set by the International Rare Diseases Research Consortium (IRDiRC) by 2027 to fulfill the vision of providing diagnosis and treatments to rare diseases (RDs) patients within one year of coming to medical attention have been challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic. This article aims to identify the needs and challenges of the RD community during the COVID-19 pandemic and to understand whether the pandemic would hinder achievement of the IRDiRC goals. Methods: A survey was developed in 2020 to answer key issues related to the potential impact of the pandemic on RD research and distributed to all 96 IRDiRC Constituent Committee members and Scientific Committee experts. Results: The overall participation rate was 46%, with the highest response rates from the Patient Advocates, Funders, and Therapies Committees. Most respondents reported impacts on various aspects of RD research including decreased access to healthcare, clinical trials, and diagnostics for patients, as well as disrupted operations for patient and funding organizations and restrictions in access to workplaces for researchers. Despite these challenges, there was overall optimism that the IRDiRC goals could still be met by 2027, although there would be an inevitable slowdown in RD research activities. Conclusions: Maintaining funding for RD research and implementing new workflows to ensure that patients have continued access to diagnostics, therapies, and clinical trials will be key to ensuring that IRDiRC meets it goals by 2027.

Albeit its constitutional claim for quality, Brazilian academia has largely been referred to as unmeritocratic and academic hiring is still inward-oriented. Lattes platform, a public curricular information system, reflects elements of this protectionism. This article assesses two ‘obsessions’ in Brazilian academia: (i) the ‘mandatory’ Lattes CV, and (ii) the candidates’ assessment criteria in public tenders for faculty positions. Several pros and cons (mostly) of the Lattes platform are identified. The following improvements are proposed: (i) evaluations in public tenders based only on candidate’s CV, interview, and a sample lecture, (ii) the dismissal of Lattes CV as a mandatory format, and (iii) the use of platforms as Microsoft Academic, Google Scholar, ORCID or ResearcherID for curricular information. With these recommendations, Brazil can move towards a more meritocratic academic hiring system.

In modern society, the issue of quality assurance by higher education institutions is of particular importance. One of the aspects of the internal quality assurance system is to monitor the level of professional competence of teachers, ensuring openness, transparency of evaluation indicators. In their turn, indicators of research activities of teachers, such as citations in scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar directly affect the ranking of higher education institutions in international and Ukrainian rankings. Therefore, the issue of formation and implementation of systems for the analysis of professional activity of teachers, in particular research, which allow monitoring and evaluation of key performance indicators of research activities of academic staff, is particularly relevant. The paper analyzes the experience of Ukrainian and foreign universities in implementing systems for presenting the professional activities of teachers, analyzing the research activities of academic staff and building ratings of professional and research activities. Modern higher education institutions use various technologies to present the professional activities of teachers in the public domain - Wiki technology, published pages on official websites and developed information systems. The main indicators used in rating the effectiveness of research activities are citation indicators in scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar - citation value, number of documents, h-index, i10-index, therefore, for high-quality presentation of research results in rankings it is important to ensure the visibility of scientific publications - the use of Open Journal Systems, placement of publications in open institutional repositories, electronic libraries, updating profiles of scientists in scientometric and bibliometric databases to update citation indices, etc.

The sensitivity of research on shoreline monitoring of coastal erosion is justified due to high density population, climate changes impacts, and intensified development, which are squeezing the ecosystem of coastal zones around the world. The budding fields of optical remote sensing such source medium and high-resolution satellite imagery in conjunction with avenue programming of Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) are widely used extended tools for analyzing the rate of coastal erosion and deposition. Although, there is a geometric growth in the research published documents in the last decades after the start of DSAS in 1990, but its broad insight into global peer groups, its scientometrics, pattern and trends in research activities in monitoring coastal erosion or shoreline change is missing. To breach this gap, 99 bibliographic records published in the Web of Science core collection for the period of 1994–2019 were analyzed using the VOSviewer software. Further, the analysis about global insight of research activities using DSAS in shoreline change analysis focused on (i) general scientometric characteristics of published output, (ii) experts in research themes and their cooperation, (iii) publishable journal list, (iv) institutional distribution and international collaboration, and (v) potential hotspot areas. This systematic analysis of the theme, graphically using rigorous scientmetric tools, will help coastal researchers to visualize the current research trends and prospective guideline for future research. The output of the present study will provide a robust road map to early carrier researchers for their advance inquiry in these fields in coming days.

Abstract. Background: In 1983 Kennet Lanning began his studies dealing with sexual rituals, and in 1985 there calls “Multidimensional Child Sex Rings” identifying features and modes (Lanning, 1992). In his studies Lanning (1992), describes the types of offences related to the dimension of ritual abuse by claiming that there is no clear evidence about some of these crimes. On the basis of those statements Weir and Wheatcroft (1995) list as possible by declaring a false ritual abuse and then of false memories, the suggestion of special interest about the growing psychotherapists induced ritual abuse and who believe in the existence of these crimes. This systematic review of the literature, in the light of subsequent events and subsequent updates of methodology aims to analyze the relationship between “Ritual Abuse” and the false memory that can appear during psychotherapy. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out using the PRISMA guidelines, by conducting a systematic search of the literature on PubMed, Scopus, ISI Web of Science, EBSCO, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. The following keywords used were “ritual abuse” “AND” (i.e., Boolean operator) “psychotherapy” combined with “AND” Boolean operator and “false memory”.Results: The initial search identified n = 167 citations. Only one research report met the predefined inclusion criteria and was analysed. Conclusion: In case of false memories in ritual abuse, it is necessary to implement the research activities to avoid that results obtained can be rejected by health professionals or by theories not scientifically. validatedKeywords: ritual abuse, psychotherapy, false memory.
