This study aims to analyze the failure of the Perindo Party ahead of the 2019 elections. The failure is seen based on the approach to the strategy carried out in the community through the media they have and what happens in fact in the community. This research uses a case study method that explores phenomena that occur through a literature review process and is based on data found in the field or from certain sources. Research using Jack Plano's concept of theory related to the spread of political action both the meaning or message concerned with the function of a political system that involves elements of communication such as messages, communicators, and so forth. The main conclusion, the failure of the Perindo Party in the election using a strategy by building organizational strength up to the TPS level, carrying out the distribution of wagons for MSMEs that enter (spreading actions), popularizing the Perindo Party by bombarding the Perindo Party march through its media (meaning / message), apparently it did not affect the people's desire to vote for the Perindo Party, after the number of TV commercials with the frequent appearance of the Perindo Mars, the KPI also gave a stern rebuke about the prohibition of political campaigning outside before the election (communicator).Keywords: Perindo, Politics, 2019 Election.

Mental health is an issue labeled as taboo and is very rarely discussed in Indonesia. This issue calls for works in order to spread mental health awareness and one of the ways is by doing persuasive communications through digital comics. The purpose of this research is to study persuasive communications about mental health through digital comics. This research was conducted using qualitative approach and case study method on an Instagram account named @petualanganmenujusesuatu. Data collection techniques used in this research were interview, observation, and literature review. The researches used Persuasive Communications, Mental Health, dan Digital Comics Theory. The results of this research indicate 3 things, the implementation of persuasive communications about mental health through digital comics have 3 types of purposes which are affective, cognitive, and conative purpose. Strategies implied are strategies in composing messages, choosing the channel, and feedback. Persuasive communications about mental health through digital comics is also influenced by the visualization of the comics itself as the media, through character depiction and color selection.Kesehatan mental adalah suatu isu yang masih dianggap tabu dan jarang dibicarakan di Indonesia. Hal ini mendorong upaya untuk menyebarkan kesadaran tentang kesehatan mental, salah satunya dengan melakukan komunikasi persuasif melalui komik digital. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komunikasi persuasif tentang kesehatan mental melalui komik digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus pada akun Instagram @petualanganmenujusesuatu. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Komunikasi Persuasif, Kesehatan Mental, dan Komik Digital. Hasil penelitian terdiri atas 3 hal, yaitu pelaksanaan komunikasi persuasif tentang kesehatan mental melalui komik digital memiliki 3 tujuan secara afektif, kognitif, atau konatif. Strategi yang digunakan adalah strategi penyusunan pesan, pemilihan saluran, dan umpan balik. Selain itu, komunikasi persuasif tentang kesehatan mental juga dipengaruhi oleh visualisasi komik sebagai medianya, yaitu melalui penggambaran karakter dan pemilihan warna.

This chapter focuses on the relationship between Orientalism and country image, and the effect of the orientalist approach reflected in the media on the country image. The image of a country is especially affected by the representations reflected in the media. Therefore, media, where discourses and images are produced and shared, play major roles in the formation and consolidation of the country's image. A country that is generally featured in the media with negative images appears as a result of the orientalist approach towards countries marginalized by the West. Turkey is seen as the other by the West. This study features the authentic reflections of the orientalist view of Turkey in the media and the effect of these reflections on the country's image with contemporary examples. Thus, this study based on literature review and case study method is aimed to reveal traces of Orientalism in Turkey's image in the Western media.

ABSTRAKPelaksanaan ibadah umrah di Indonesia dari tahun ke tahun mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Hal ini didorong dengan semakin baiknya kondisi perekonomian di Indonesia. Untuk itu diperlukan perusahaan penyelenggara perjalanan ibadah umrah dan haji yang memfasilitasi para jamaah untuk melakukan ibadah menuju ke tanah suci. Mengenai hal tersebut, sudah seharusnya perusahaan penyelenggara perjalanan ibadah umrah dan haji menerapkan etika bisnis Islam dalam menjalankan aktivitas bisnisnya. Hal ini sangat penting dikarenakan banyak terjadi pelanggaran etika bisnis Islam yang dilakukan oleh beberapa perusahaan, tidak terkecuali oleh perusahaan travel umrah haji, seperti yang banyak diberitakan dibeberapa media yang dibuktikan dengan banyaknya jamaah yang gagal berangkat ke Baitullah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan peneliti yaitu survei pendahuluan, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi literatur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Mubina Tour Indonesia kabupaten Gresik telah menerapkan etika bisnis Islam dengan cara menyampaikan secara jujur dan benar, senantiasa berusaha untuk selalu menepati apa yang telah dijanjikan, membekali semua karyawan dengan berbagai skill dan mengemas promosi dengan trik-trik yang menarik.Kata Kunci: Etika Bisnis Islam, Perusahaan Penyelenggara Perjalanan Ibadah Umrah dan Haji. ABSTRACTPerforming Umrah in Indonesia year by year has been experiencing a significant increase. It is motivated by a better economic condition in Indonesia. Therefore, Umrah and Hajj Travel Organizer Company is needed to facilitate Muslim pilgrims to pilgrimage to Mecca. According to this, this kind of company shall implement Islamic business ethics to run their business activities. It is very important because there are many Islamic business ethics violations committed by some companies, unexceptionally Hajj and umrah travel companies as widely reported in several media. It was proven by the large number of pilgrims who failed to go to Baitullah. This research used a qualitative-descriptive approach with the case study method. Data collecting techniques used by the researcher are preliminary survey, observation, interview, documentation, and literature review. The result of the research shows that Mubina Tour Indonesia in Gresik Regency has implemented Islamic business ethics by delivering information honestly and truthfully, always trying to fulfill what has been promised, equipping all employments with many various skills, and packaging promotion with interesting techniques.Keywords: Islamic Business Ethics, Umrah and Hajj Travel Company.

The goal of the present study is to demonstrate the media-aesthetic potential of infographic messages on particular cases. This can be done due to an integrated approach to the analysis of the visual content of media content. That indicates the case study method implementation as well as description and generalization. The theoretical basis of the research is represented by scientific studies of various directions. That includes the history of media and visual media culture; features of the concepts of media culture and media language, media aesthetics; infographics as a tool of media language. The empirical basis of the study is journalistic materials containing infographic content of such publications as by RIA Novosti (ria.ru), TASS (tass.ru). The examples of visual image implementation in the transmission of information — media content containing infographics — are given and analyzed. Considering media aesthetics as the formation of a sensory perception of the proposed media content, the author turns to the philosophical and aesthetic foundations of visual practices in the media and post-humanistic trends in journalism. As a result of the analysis of the theoretical and practical basis of the research, the author comes to the conclusion that today the role of the media aesthetic component of messages is most relevant. And infographics, as the connecting link of language and consciousness, is its most striking tool.

AbstrakFenomena pengunaan media sosial sebagai media online semakin massive pada dekade ini. Kalangan muda sebagai generasi milenial atau digital native merupakan pengguna terbesar dalam penggunaan media sosial saat ini. Penelitian mengenai literasi digital masih jarang dilakukan terutama di Indonesia. Subyek penelitian ini adalah kalangan usia muda dengan rentang usia 17–21 tahun yang merupakan pengguna aktif media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Informan yang dijadikan sampel penelitian sebanyak 5 orang dan 1 orang informan kunci dari pakar literasi media. Temuan yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini menunjukan pentingnya program literasi digital yang memberikan dampak positif bagi pengetahuan, pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam menggunakan media terutama media sosial yang saat ini sering dijadikan sumber informasi oleh khalayak terutama oleh kalangan yang berusia muda. Program ini memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan pada penyebaran informasi dalam menggunakan media massa terutama media sosial yang digunakan oleh kalangan usia muda sehingga ada kesadaran dalam menggunakan media. Pada pendidikan pelatihan (diklat) ini peserta belum semua mempunyai keahlian ini dikarenakan keahlian ini memerlukan latihan yang terus menerus dan konsisten sehingga mereka dapat melakukannya dengan baik. Oleh karena itu pendidikan literasi digital merupakan solusi yang dapat dilakukan oleh pemerintah dan elemen masyarakat dan civitas akademika yang peduli terhadap kemajuan bangsa. AbstractThe phenomenon of the use of social media as an online media is increasingly massive in the use of this decade. Young people as the native millennial or digital generation are the biggest users in the use of social media today. Research on digital literacy is still rare, especially in Indonesia. The subjects of this study were young people aged 17-21 years that were active users of social media. This study uses a qualitative approach to the case study method. The informants who were used as research samples were 5 people and 1 key informant from media literacy experts. The findings obtained in this study indicate the importance of digital literacy programs that have a positive impact on knowledge, understanding and skills in using the media, especially social media which is now often used as a source of information by audiences, especially among young people. information on using mass media, especially social media used by young people so that there is awareness in using the media. In this education participants do not all have this expertise because this skill requires continuous and consistent training so that they can do it well. Therefore digital literacy education is a solution that can be done by the government and elements of society and academics who care about the progress of the nation.

This systematic literature review aimed to investigate the use of case study method in hospitality and tourism research to increase the awareness about the use of case study as a research method. Data were collected ( n = 871) from 10 leading hospitality and tourism journals published between 1974 and 2020. A thematic analysis of the data was conducted using Leximancer as a computer-aided analysis software. The study findings reveal an overall mislabel and misuse of the case study method. Suggestions are provided to improve case study method applications and increase case study research for more theory development in hospitality and tourism research.

Ondel-Ondel is one of Betawi special icon an also one of the artworks of Betawi. This giant puppet also believed as a charm in Betawi society for decades. People of Betawi also considered Ondel-Ondel as a sacred culture. Ondel-Ondel is an entertainment for Betawi society that inherited from generation to generation. However, nowadays ondel-ondel is not considered as a sacred property for ritual any longer since the last couple of years. Ondel-ondel has been used for busking in every corner of Jakarta. The aim of this research was to find out the perception of Abang None as the ambassador of tourism to conserve the culture of Betawi regarding the phenomenon Ondel-Ondel that busking on the street. We collected the data by using observation, profound interview, literature review and online data research. This research used the concept of communication and culture theory and it is also a qualitative and descriptive research by using phenomenology and case study method. The result of this research is the Abang None about the difference between the properties of busking ondel-ondel and the Betawi’s entertainment ondel-ondel. Abang None is the disagreement with the busking ondel-ondel since it looked so pity and inappropriate, and Abang None is they would not give the money to the busking ondel-ondel. Keywords: Abang None; Ondel-Ondel; Betawi Culture; Perception.

This article explores women’s representation in politics in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur/NTT) between 2014 and 2019. Since 2004, Indonesia has seen the implementation of a strategy to boost the level of female representation in parliament through affirmative action. However, the 30% target quote has not yet been achieved. Women’s representation in politics is an important indicator in the political system reflecting a recognition of the existence and interests of women as citizens. The success of the initiative is highlighted by the fact that the 2014 legislative elections saw female representation in the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD NTT) increase by 100% from the 2009 election representation levels. Using the case study method and analyzing the process, this article argues that NTT women already have the awareness to actively participate in politics and become party representatives and legislative members. The presence of women in parliament is necessary to achieve gender equality and improve women’s welfare through gender-responsive policies. Liga Dangdut Indonesia (Indonesian Dangdut League) is a popular dangdut singer talent contest in Indosiar television station. It is part of the media strategy to gain ratings and audience share to compete for a slice of the limited advertising cake in the free-to-air commercial television broadcasting. This competiton encourages television managers to think hard to create flagship programs that become media commodities to attract viewers and advertisers. This study aims to identify some forms of commodification on Liga Dangdut Indonesia. Study of dangdut is important for communication research because it will help more understanding about the modern nation-state culture of Indonesia. Drawing on a critical political economy framework, this study uses Mosco's theory regarding processes of commodification of media content, audiences, and workers. Researchers added Fuchs's theory of digital workers to see the phenomenon of commodification in the digital age. This is a qualitative research with case study method. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation and interviews as well as exploring news, audiovisual material, and reports. Researchers found that commodification occurs in the contest in the form of the commodification of media content, audiences, workers, and digital workers. This commodification hides exploitative social relations by presenting them in a form that mistifies dangdut as global, upper-class, nobel culture.

This research was concerned about the development of religious awareness based on adult education for corruption inmates in Pesantren Al - Hidayah. The main objective is to describe development of religious awareness process-based adult education for corruption inmates in Pesantren Al – Hidayah. The literature review of the research comprised: religious awareness, adult education, penitentiary. This research was conducted through descriptive research and case study method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used through observation, interview and documentation. Subjects in this research was a spiritual adviser, Corruption inmates and tutors. The research showed that the religious awareness was applied through a participatory, fair and equitable, transparent, learning need; Multi way communication, a variety of learning methods, pragmatic, problem-based in awareness and inoculation of belief, habituation, practice and reinforcement process; spiritual adviser role as a facilitative leader. Application of self-evaluation that suitable with the ability and condition of inmates
