The ABLA-R (Assessment of Basic Learning Abilities Revised) is a useful test for assessing the discriminative abilities of individuals with developmental disorders. This study evaluated, with six professionals, the effect of three training components in ABLA-R administration accuracy: ABLA-R self-instructional manual, video feedback and role-play. None of the components, used separately in training, resulted in an accurate application of ABAL-R. The combination of the self-instructional manual with video feedback resulted in performances with more than 90% accuracy. The data corroborate previous evidence on the importance of feedback in professional training and demonstrate that a combination of training components may be more effective in teaching the ABLA-R application than using only the selfinstructional manual.

This article reveals the theoretical basis of the self-concept and the Self-identity image study in psychology and emphasizes that the tendency to analyze oneself, the need to generalize and systematize knowledge about oneself, to relate one’s self-image to an ideal one as well as self-education, self-esteem are the most important characteristics for the formation of a future specialist. The article analyzes the works of foreign and domestic psychologists, such as R. Burns, W. James, V. S. Agapov, who give us various approaches to the problem of the self-concept and its structural components. The authors investigate the ideas about ‘self’ and the ideal image of an Orthodox theologian among the students majoring in the Orthodox theology. It is noted that there is very little research on the personal characteristics of the students majoring in theology, and studying the idea of oneself and the ideal image of a future theologian is not only of a theoretical interest, but it is also connected with the increasing efficiency of solving the problems with specialists` formation. The paper presents the results of an empirical study concerning the students majoring in theology from junior to senior years basing on the methods of diagnosing interpersonal relations by T. Leary. The results show us that the efficiency of the professional training and the professional development of a future theologian depends on the meaning and importance of the profession for the given person, and how the future specialist relates themselves to it. The comparative analysis of an one`s self image and an ideal image formation among the students majoring in theology generally indicate the development of subjectivity, a critical attitude toward oneself, and a desire to improve oneself.

To encourage students to think about and understand the considerable role gender plays in their lives, a writing assignment early in a gender course asks them to consider the impact of permanently becoming the other gender.  Students’ papers were examined for particular themes, which were used to illustrate course concepts and to spark class discussions.  For example, some students wrote that they must learn how to be the other gender, which leads to a discussion about the sources of gender differences.  Other themes as well as suggestions for expanding the assignment are discussed.

This article analyses the relationship between the internal defect picture, personality traits and the self-attitude of adolescents with disabilities. Topicality of the study is due to the scientific interest in the peculiarities of the formation of the self-concept in the most sensitive period of development for its formation – adolescence in a special group of persons – adolescents with developmental disorders. The empirical base of the study was 109 adolescents with deficits (impaired hearing, vision, speech) and delayed development. Mean age is 14 years. The most connections with the components of the internal picture of the defect were acquired by such personality traits as aggravation and anxiety. Aspects of self-attitude turned out to be more closely related to the components of the internal picture of the defect in terms of communication parameters, popularity among peers, behaviour, situation at school, happiness and satisfaction, family status, and self-confidence.
