This paper explores the application of a mixed teaching model of Task-Based Learning (TBL), Collaborative-Inquiry Model (CIM) and MOOCs to the academic English teaching for graduate students at Inner Mongolia University, China. Teaching tasks of eight units are assigned for students to learn through the online course on MOOC in advance. Graduate students are grouped to work and cooperate with one another to complete the presentations of their learning results. A five-year teaching practice indicates that 1) graduate students appear more active in class than students taught in traditional class; 2) the writing quality of abstracts is greatly improved through the cooperative learning pattern; 3) students show more satisfaction for the course than ever before regarding the teacher’s help for their academic activities. The application of the new teaching model has not only benefited the Inner Mongolia University (IMU) students, but also set up a pioneering example in teaching reform for graduate students and provided valuable experiences for other universities in ethnic areas.

It is argued that meaning has no originatory source and is the outcome of relationships between texts, or intertextuality, the manifest type of which is cued by concrete references to the works of others in direct or indirect forms. The present research, then, is an attempt to illustrate how intertextual networks are set up in SLA handbooks; manifest intertextuality is in the next phase mapped onto a diachronic axis to see if there is any meaningful pattern regulating intertextuality in the corpus of the study. The obtained results revealed a far greater reliance on contemporary works which may be justified in the light of the constant development of our knowledge of the field. Intertextuality is then examined in the framework of relevance theory to show the possible connections between the intertextual quality of a text and its readability. Since many SLA handbooks serve as textbooks for graduate students, the results of this study can help with measuring the degree of readability of  handbooks and their optimality for given students.

With the progression of economic globalisation, China’s expectations about the quality of English teaching in the country have increased, and because of the restrictive drawbacks of orthodox English teaching models, they cannot meet these requirements. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) technology can create new opportunities for the optimisation of English teaching. As such, this study aims to systematically review and analyse the current research on the innovations afforded by AI for China’s English teaching model, especially the application of AI in unquiesced English teaching. The descriptive–analytical approach is used to study and analyse the literature. The research results highlight evidence of success cases, illustrating that the implementation of AI in English teaching in China can provide new ideas and create new spaces for the innovation of teaching models. Under the background of the new era, great changes have taken place in the teaching mode of our country, and all kinds of creative teaching strategies emerge as the times require. In order to construct an efficient classroom and ensure the rational allocation and utilization of teaching resources, teachers must adhere to the central position of students in the process of carrying out classroom teaching practice, clarify the individual differences of students, and fully consider the influencing factors of various details from the point of view of students. In order to better promote the improvement of teaching quality and teaching level, to ensure that every student can learn something, learn to achieve success. However, combined with the relevant practical investigation, it is not difficult to find that long-term examination-oriented education leads to some teaching classics. In the course of carrying out the classroom teaching practice, the teacher who is not under test directly uses the learning of the basic knowledge of the simple theory as the main body, and puts the core energy in the indoctrination and the teaching of the theoretical knowledge, which seriously restricts the individual growth and development of the students, and ignores the individual difference of the students, The result is that the efficiency and quality of the classroom teaching are declining continuously, some of the teaching resources are wasted directly, which is especially obvious in the course of the practice of English teaching in colleges and universities. In this respect, this paper, based on the macroscopic angle, takes the college English teaching as the analysis object, and the relevant strategies and requirements to improve the English teaching quality, with a view to promoting the English teaching in colleges and universities, and provides some reference for the smooth development of teaching practice.

Data continually act as a substantial role in business and industry for its daily activities to smoothly functional. The data volume is growing with the passage of time and rising of information technology. Using data mining techniques for quality evaluation and business English teaching is essential in the modern world. These technologies are introduced in the classroom, especially in online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. To analyze the quality of business English teaching, this paper uses multimedia and data mining technologies. Initially, the multimedia data are collected during classes, and the association rule recommendation algorithm using data mining is applied. Based on collaborative filtering algorithms in association rules, indicators for teaching quality evaluation in colleges and universities are set up. Next, the actual teaching data of a university is used. Taking business English as an example, the algorithm that has been built is tested. The application of the algorithm is tested, and the teaching process of College Business English is evaluated. Finally, the conclusion is drawn that data mining technology can describe the behavior of teaching well and evaluate it, and it has the potential of popularization.

Based on the observations' results, many graduate students from an English course institution still do not understand public speaking techniques. Even though the course institution is a well-known course institution in Indonesia, these graduates are relatively fast reading and speaking English. However, this word's smooth production was not matched with variations in voice, changes in intonation, and minimal meaning. As a lecturer in the English department, this is also our responsibility. Moreover, these graduates are now having their English course institutions independently. They are required to be able to communicate with their students. It is hoped that the current course institutions, especially in the Selong sub-district, can improve the quality of learning by applying correct public speaking techniques. Therefore, it is necessary to hold public speaking training for tutors at English language course institutions. The service plans carried out are: 1.) Delivery of mentoring material, 2.) Implementation of speaking practice in internal forums, 3.) Study tours at other course institutions, 4. ) Practicing speaking as well as evaluating outside the forum. This community service has increased English tutors' understanding in the Foreign Language Center (FLC) of Selong sub-district, East Lombok, seen from how they apply public speaking techniques during their teaching practice English tutors.

As a new teaching model, the flipped classroom inverts the sequence of imparting knowledge and internalizing knowledge. On the basis of flipped classroom concept and previous empirical research, the present study is intended to construct task-based college EFL flipped classroom model and put it into Chinese college oral English teaching practice. The design of the study involves contrastive experiments, questionnaires and in-depth interview. The results suggest that the task-based flipped classroom teaching model has a remarkably better effect on boosting students’ communicative competence of English.
