All the time, innovative and new technologies continue to be developed. This forces anyone involved in the logistics industry to adapt so as not to be left behind and experience adverse effects. With the 4.0 industrial revolution, now many companies are starting to implement digitalization in their logistics activities. There are five main technologies that must be considered in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, namely Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Wearable Technology (WT), Advanced Robotic (AR) and 3D Printing (3DP). This research was conducted to explore the benefits and impacts of digitizing the logistics process in the Industrial 4.0 era by examining it from various sources. The results showed that the use of technology for digitizing logistics provided many benefits both for individuals and for corporate organizations. The stakeholders are expected to be able to work together adequately to ensure the technology present in the Industrial 4.0 era provides the benefits that are expected.

This article addresses the impact of the digital era and it specifically refers to information and communication technologies (ICT) in Public Administration. It is based on the international approach and underscores the importance of incorporating new technologies established by the United Nations and the Organization of American States. Thereon, it highlights the Argentine Republic national approach towards ICT, and how it has moved towards a digital paradigm. It then emphasizes on the challenges and opportunities that emerge from the impact that artificial intelligence has in transforming Public Administration. Finally, it concludes that the key challenge of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is to achieve a boost towards a Digital and Intelligent Administration and government, which promotes the effectiveness of rights and an inclusive technological development that assures the digital dignity of people.

This chapter carries out extensive review of literature on the 4th Industrial Revolution. In the last decades, many stakeholders such as industries, governments, employers and employers' organisations, workers and their unions, and academics have expressed divergent opinion of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The 4th industrial revolution is the 4th stage of a mechanical movement process that began towards the end of the 18th century where mechanised production replaced manual production process. Research shows that the 4th Industrial Revolution brought about ‘disruptive technologies' such as artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, and 3D printing, which transforms social, economic, and political systems, often in unpredictable ways.

What the internet with its connectivity did to facilitate the third industrial revolution, cloud computing and artificial intelligence have done for the fourth industrial revolution. Technology is changing the world at an alarming rate, which includes products and services that require scale to manage the growing demands of an ever-changing and increasing population. Digital transformation is enabled through cloud technology where human comprehension cannot cope with the size and speed of data required to manage a business in the digital economy. Artificial intelligence and machine learning assist in activities to overcome human limitation, using algorithms to develop predictive and simulation models and scale to provide data for decision making. The technologies employed to run and execute these require skill and resource. The challenge for the modern-day CEO is that the use of technology and its demand in the digital economy of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is not fully understood by them due to their digital skill level and managing the generational skill sets in their structure.

The chapter looked at records management in the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) with the challenges and the way forward. The chapter discussed the industrial revolutions, records management, and the fourth industrial revolution (4IR), and described the advancement in records management in the 4IR based on the 4IR tools and technologies including artificial intelligence, blockchain, internet of things (IoT), robotics, and big data. The chapter also identified and discussed the benefits of technological advancement in the management of records; challenges of records management at the wake of 4IR and charted the way forward. In the context of document and records management, and taking into account all characteristics of the 4IR technologies and tools as well as its underlying technologies and concepts, the chapter concluded that the 4IR tools can be used to save time to create and process records, secure records from being damaged or destroyed, confirm the integrity of records, among others.

In this article, we ask to what extent more recent developments are consistent with the perspective advanced by Freeman. We focus on two issues in particular, the climate challenge and what has been dubbed “A Fourth Industrial Revolution” that is, advances in artificial intelligence and the proliferation of the internet of things.

Underestimation of the importance of solving problems in law enforcement agencies in the context of the use of new digital technologies by criminals may lead to the situation when high-tech crime does not replace traditional forms of theft, but may result in a sharp hypoxia of preventive activities, which will lack the planned law enforcement resources and means of responding to emerging threats. The relevance of the paper lies in the fact that when assessing the use of modern digital technologies in scientific literature and regulatory support, special emphasis is placed on specific data functions of technologies to automatically analyze a set of data and with the help of a set of algorithms to make decisions on optimization of processes and activities, that is, the ability to simplify human relationships. However, the experience of law enforcement has shown that the lack of law enforcement support for protecting the society from negative use of technology leads to the fact that the response now follows the criminal consequences of their use of technologies. The creation of artificial intelligence (AI) systems has led to serious social changes, there is a kind of transformation of public relations under the influence of the digital economy, which inevitably creates the prerequisites for the emergence of specific criminal behavior. The paper provides for a brief analysis of information from open sources about the possibilities of criminal use of artificial intelligence. The author aims to analyze the various possibilities of creating a new model of protection against cybercrime under the control of law enforcement agencies in the context of new threats caused by criminal use of AI technology and the new industrial revolution.


Recently, the business paradigm has shifted to the direction of strengthening consumer-oriented process interconnections and thus demand diversity and volatility have increased. The automation, autonomy, and connectivity of the entire supply chain are emphasized on the basis of the fourth industry technology such as Internet of things and artificial intelligence. In this paper, we propose a smart Supply Chain Management model that accommodates current high technological issues and business requirements under 4th industrial revolution era. The proposed web based SCM consists of automatic ordering/purchasing system, artificial intelligence based appropriate inventory computation system based on Monte Carlo simulation, and detachable IoT based inventory management system. The system is expected to be a sophisticated and intelligent smart SCM solution that adheres to logistics standards for visibility, safety and efficiency.

In a world where everyday life is directly influenced and focused on the use of technology as a support for individual and professional daily activity, we are all witnessing an increasingly obvious change in human interaction; we all notice how interpersonal interaction is rapidly being replaced by new technologies, solutions and application such as IoT and AI and which are going to completely change the perspective on human life so far. From this perspective and in the conditions of the ongoing pandemic, the present study focused on identifying the changes brought by AI solutions and applications in some of the most flexible and adaptable industries such as tourism and hospitality; in order to obtain a more complete picture, the study was oriented in a double perspective, namely the offer from the tourism & hospitality industry, on the one hand and the tourists, on the other hand; regarding the offer from tourism and hospitality, the study used both primary and secondary information, to visualize an image of the existing AI solutions/applications and adopted by the companies in these industries; For the category of tourists, knowing the generational difference regarding the new technologies from the perspective of the level of acceptance and their use, the study aimed at identifying generational profiles regarding the acceptance and use of AI applications in the tourist experience. We consider that the results of the study can be an important support for conducting more complex and comparative studies, related to the use of new technologies that obviously change the development of human society.
