The role played by subject areas in information and communication technology (ICT) integration has been insufficiently researched. This study compares English language teachers' perceptions of ICT integration with their peers in engineering and medical science in ICT integration. It also examines the effects of teachers’ sociobiographical variables (gender, age, computer proficiency, and years of teaching experience) predict teachers’ perceptions of ICT integration. A total of 180 teachers (112 males, 68 females) responded to a Teacher Technology Questionnaire (Lowther, Inan, Strahl, & Ross, 2008). Results show that among the predictor variables, computer skills had the highest relative impact on ICT integration. Furthermore, English language teachers' perceptions of ICT are reported to be similar to those of their peers in engineering and medical science. This study does not lend support to any significant role played by subject area in ICT integration. Implications for teaching are offered.

The concept of the information and communication competence is defined as a special quality, which requires future specialists to have relevant knowledge, abilities and skills to navigate in information space with the aim to obtain and apply information sources and information and communication technologies in future professional activities. It is found that vocational training of future lecturers of professional education (occupational safety and health) should be aimed at shaping information and communication competence. Therefore, it is important that innovative information and communication technologies should be incorporated in the educational process. It is clarified that the process of shaping information and communication competence of future lecturers of professional education (occupational safety and health) should be understood as a professional ability to navigate in information space in order to obtain (search, select and analyze) information sources and effectively apply information and communication technologies in future professional activities. In connection with the general concept of society informatization and education as its integral component, new requirements are imposed to knowledge and abilities of the main participants of educational process. Positive influence of information and communication technologies development on education is noted in many studies and in a number of official documents. Project activity meets the needs of society for the pragmatic use of educational resources in order to intensify education. Implementation of foreign-language Internet projects allows to form students’ grammatical skills of the speech. However, this result can be achieved when accounting a number of psychological and pedagogical conditions. We raise an issue on identification and justification of psychological and pedagogical conditions which have to be considered when developing a methodical system and technology of formation of students’ grammatical skills of the speech during implementation of foreign-language Internet projects. We designate the relevance of the problem and substantiate the accounting of following psychology and pedagogical conditions: a) balance of a theoretical component and practical importance; b) motivation of students when forming grammatical skills; c) foreign language skills at the level of Intermediate-Upper-Intermediate; d) developed information and communication competence of students; e) developed information and communication competence of teacher; f) existence of teaching technology. We substantiate and describe in detail each of the allocated conditions.
