On the back of the rapid development in public art in recent decades, and in particular graffiti and muralism, interest in them has grown significantly among cultural studies scholars, art critics, architects, sociologists, and urban planners. Numerous works that have appeared in the West and in Ukraine are devoted to various aspects of the visual public art existence. This theme continues to be one of the most relevant for contemporary visual art. This article complements the bunch of acquired knowledge with a detailed study of the impact of socio-cultural processes in society on the changes that took place in monumental painting, graffiti and muralism in Kyiv during 1990–2010, i.e. during the most important changes in politics and society in recent decades. The peculiarities of each historical stage of this influence are analysed and outlined in the study, and the theoretical analysis is displayed by the description of the most characteristic works. Most of them are researched in detail. In addition, the process of decline of monumental painting in the late 1980s and early 1990s is analysed, the factors of graffiti flourishing in the 1990s are identified and highlighted, and the origins of the rapid development of muralism after 2004 and especially after 2014 are explored. At each stage, changes in the themes, aesthetics and functions of public images are traced. The definitions, such as muralism and graffiti, are updated in this paper, taking into account changes in art and the latest achievements in its analysis. The manifestations of the national-patriotic themes in the contemporary art of muralism are considered in detail, the classification of art work on this subject is given, the corresponding examples are given. Such concepts as public art, synthesis of arts, monumental painting, graffiti, muralism are attentively aligned. The study of the nature of the socio-cultural processes and visual arts correlations is promising for further scientific and theoretical developments and the practical aspect for better understanding of the specific works

On the example of the work «The Great Neurosis» by the French sculptor Jacques Loysel and «Europe» by the Austrian graphic artist Alfred Kubin, it is described and analyzed how artists gave characteristics of changes in their eras, using the same visual image associated with a mental illness. It is proved that while Loysel’s artwork was associated with the latest discoveries in medicine, then Kubin’s artwork was reinterpreted in a new way, reflecting the problems and experiences of the «lost generation». From this it follows that the example of the works «The Great Neurosis» and «Europe» by Loysel and Kubin can be traced not only to evolution, but also to the introduction of the pathological image of the “hysterical body” both in the art of the XXth century and in contemporary art practices. Such a study demonstrates the relevance and signifi cance of studying the links between, as well as the analysis of the impact of mechanisms of institutions of disciplinary power on the visual arts of various eras.

In marketing, the use of visual-art-based designs on products or packaging crucially impacts consumers’ decision-making when purchasing. While visual art in product packaging should be designed to induce consumer’s favorable evaluations, it should not evoke excessive affective arousal, because this may lead to the depletion of consumer’s cognitive resources. Thus, consumers may use heuristic decision-making and commit an inadvertent mistake while purchasing. Most existing studies on visual arts in marketing have focused on preference (i.e., affective valence) using subjective evaluations. To address this, we applied a neuroscientific measure, electroencephalogram (EEG) to increase experimental validity. Two successive tasks were designed to examine the effects of affective arousal and affective valence, evoked by visual artwork, on the consecutive cognitive decision-making. In task 1, to evaluate the effect of visual art, EEG of two independent groups of people was measured when they viewed abstract artwork. The abstract art of neoplasticism (AbNP) group (n = 20) was showing Mondrian’s artwork, while the abstract art of expressionism (AbEX) group (n = 18) viewed Kandinsky’s artwork. The neoplasticism movement strove to eliminate emotion in art and expressionism to express the feelings of the artist. Building on Gallese’s embodied simulation theory, AbNP and AbEX artworks were expected to induce lower and higher affect, respectively. In task 2, we investigated how the induced affect differentially influenced a succeeding cognitive Stroop task. We anticipated that the AbEX group would deplete more cognitive resources than AbNP group, based on capacity limitation theory. Significantly stronger affect was induced in the AbEX group in task 1 than in the AbNP group, especially in affective arousal. In task 2, the AbEX group showed a faster reaction time and higher error rate in the Stroop task. According to our hypotheses, the higher affective arousal state of the AbEX group might deplete more cognitive resources during task 1 and result in poorer performance in task 2 because affect impacted their cognitive resources. This is the first study using neuroscientific measures to prove that high affective arousal induced by visual arts on packaging may induce heuristic decision-making in consumers, thereby advancing our understanding of neuromarketing.

The purpose of this investigation is the search and development of the methodological tools for the use of the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ/TIPS) for a deep and conscious perception of the modern visual arts by future artists and by professional painters in general. Methodology. The theoretical fundamentals of the research became the works of the researchers in the field of social-humanitarian sciences: culturology, art history, philosophy, semiotics. One can refer to the methodological basics the use of systemic, structural-semiotic and post-structural approaches. Results. In the process of the research, the differentiation, systematization and classification of methods of shaping in visual arts by adapting TRIZ methods was realized. The visual information for every TRIZ method was collected. As an example, we suggested a research abstract for the «Mediator» method, including a selection and the interpretation of the images, the analysis of method’s functions and their peculiarities, their specifics and resource possibilities. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty consists in the fact that the authors have investigated the artistic works on the basis of adapted TRIZ methods, identified the variants of use of these methods and their functional meaning. Practical significance. The practical significance of the research consists in a deep analysis of semantic and esthetic components of the works of art, which can promote the enhancement of the artistic communication effectiveness and higher realization of the artists.


THE POST 1947 PLAN ERA During the 1950s, the Higher Council of Accounting made the first revision of the 1947 Plan. The new Plan was approved in 1957. The Council mainly devoted its efforts to improving the various elements of the 1947 Plan while retaining its framework and giving the cost accounting section of the plan more flexibil­ ity. A 1962 decree required the 1957 Plan be used in the private economic sector. The 1957 Plan thus became legally binding in over eighty lines of business for which particular plans were developed. Further, in the 1960s, the 1957 Plan served as basis for the development of the Plan for the African, Madagascar and Mauritius Organization (grouping of former French colonies) by a group of experts from the National Council of Accounting and INSEE. With changing economic conditions in France, the passing of new laws, the rapid development of information processing tech­ niques and the internationalization of trade and capital markets, the Accounting Plan needed revision. The need to improve the possibilities for financial and economic analysis offered by the plan’s financial statements played an important role in drafting the revised plan’s conceptual framework; in fact, this consider­ ation dominated the first phase of the revision (1970 to 1975). The new proposed plan changed the classification criteria adopted in the 1947 and 1957 Plans, and introduced a number of innovations. The classification of balance sheet elements according to their de­ gree of liquidity/maturity was replaced by a classification of assets and liabilities according to their economic function in the firm. The impact of tax regulations on accounting income and on the balance sheet was to be shown separately in accounts such as regulated provisions. The presentation of a statement of changes in financial position was to be made mandatory as a result of banks’ and financial analysts’ requests for information about the impact of the firm’s transactions on its financial position. In the income statement, components of production were to be shown separately, and computation of value added was required to meet national accountants' information needs. These changes were ap­ proved by the National Council of Accounting (Conseil National de la Comptabilite) in 1975. Unfortunately, the 1975 Plan could not be adopted as such, since it had to be harmonized with the requirements of the Euro­ pean Economic Community (EEC) directive on company financial statements, which was approved in 1977. The aim of the paper is to highlight some of the findings on the study on the impact of the 'Artist in Schools' (AiS) collaboration on the motivation of students of selected secondary schools in Malaysia in visual art education. AiS is aimed at establishing a collaboration between the students of nine schools and nine Malaysian artists in order to share their experiences, skills, and knowledge consecutively. The research design of multi-case studies or multisite studies was selected and Keller’s ARCS Motivational Theory has been used for assessment purposes and as the main conceptual framework. The open-ended questionnaires were distributed to obtain the data of the students’ motivation, and the collaboration between the AiS program and the students.

The article is devoted to the issue of the continuity of the Russian pictorial tradition and the representation of spiritual meanings in contemporary Russian art. The authors aims to consider the image of the Virgin Mary as part of the cultural code of Russia. The object of the research is the materials of the visual art works by contemporary Russian artists of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, studied from the perspective of their Byzantine origins. The subject of this research is the image of the Virgin Mary in contemporary Russian visual art. The result of the research is an understanding of the forms of transformation of the canon of spiritual tradition in contemporary art.

This article discusses contemporary visual arts education current changes. Visual Arts Education is frequently underestimated by most European Curriculum which often gave and still gives priority to other knowledge areas. Nevertheless, culture industries like museums and a wide range of culture and social organizations are doing the opposite, leading visual art education to an increasingly dissemination, even if it is always less than we all expect. This article also focus on a current shift and which seems to be a kind of paradox: visual art education services from alternative culture institutions are becoming integrated on school activities. By recognizing Visual Art Education Value, culture institutions are trying to develop different approaches in order to engage visual arts with communities. By informing and promoting creative thinking, they are trying to reach community involvement and, consequently, breaking down barriers when necessary. In a more and more globalized world, it is urgent to rethink culture, ethnical, social, economical and political diversities and here is where visual arts education can become a more active player. Art always allowed man to create different worlds in our world as Nelson Goodman affirmed. By creating new worlds, art offers possibilities on new world perspectives and therefore it also might make possible a great miracle, which is the possibility of changing into a better world! Isn´t that what next Documenta 14 is doing? Documenta 14, Kassel, considered the world's largest and most prestigious exhibition of contemporary art, will be held in Athens, Greece, and Kassel, Germany, under the following theme: Learning from Athens. Both - visual art education and contemporary art - seem to share this wish and determination in changing to a better world by implicating local, national and international community. And Art always seemed to be a great `educator´ throughout mankind history.

The development of Cameroon’s power grid is linked to the electricity supply and demand market. In recent years, small and medium-sized businesses, due to their rapid development, begin to significantly affect the balance of consumption. According to the results of the analysis, the paper presents the classification of the share of electricity consumption by small and medium-sized enterprises by industry. The forecast of self-generation of electric energy by enterprises from biogas is estimated.
