Introduction. The basic concept of modern society is the concept of property. It is the basis of social relations – a variety of categories of tangible and intangible objects can be considered as property. This article considers the modern definition of “state property” in the Ukrainian economic literature, and features of the definition of state property as an object of evaluation in its economic content in Ukraine. Purpose. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the main existing in the current economic literature approaches to the valuation of state-owned property. Results. As simple and basic concept “state property” does not have a single clear and comprehensive definition. The article presents three main approaches to it. The interpretations presented in encyclopedic materials, views on state property from the point of view of sociology and philosophy are considered. Considerable attention is paid to the views of domestic economists, who focus on various aspects of the economic content of the concept, considering it as an act of state appropriation of certain objects (S. Mocherny), from the standpoint of the social contract (M. Kamyshanska), with emphasis for the purpose of using property – the realization of national interests (G. Dorofeeva), taking into account the role of state property as the basis of the economy of society (V. Emelyanov) and the primacy of economic relations compared to legal (N. Biryukova). Conclusions. Concluding the article, the author concludes that he adheres to the approach that state property, in contrast to private property is a system of relations regarding the appropriation of goods in the interests of the community and the state as a whole. Thus, state property can be considered as a basis for the development of capital-intensive industries and industries, an economic reserve designed to ensure the development of private and public capital of the nation, private enterprise, and to eliminate the effects of economic crises. State property is also responsible for the material security of public safety, the work of the social sphere and the production of public goods.

Introduction. Property is a multifaceted phenomenon, so that, even within one science, there is no general concept that would reflect its meaning. At the same time, we are of the opinion that the most important aspects of property for modern society are economic and legal, despite the fact that property, first of all, was considered as a philosophical category. In scientific sources, the commonality of features that characterize the property on the legal side (possession, use and disposal), is called the legal (legal) category, and economic (the desire to own goods (both tangible and intangible), the relationship between owners, owner and direct producer of goods (subject-subject relations)) - economic category. The purpose of the paper is to consider the essence of property as an economic category. Results. Analyzing the category of «property» from an economic point of view, we can identify its basic basis: the relationship of different owners with each other, as well as owners and direct producers of goods. In the «owner – owner» relationship, we observe the economic process of exchange of goods. At the same time, the owner-non-owner relationship is non-economic, so it is not the subject of economists' research. The relationship between different owners, as well as owners and direct producers of goods is the material basis of our society. Conclusion. Property as an economic category is characterized by: first, the result of the manifestation of the subject of his will - the desire to own the goods of the world; secondly, goods both material and non-material; third, the social relations and interrelationships of the owners among themselves, as well as the owners and direct producers of goods.

Over 40 years ago the French Research Committee on Violence, Crime and Delinquency published a document that contained current analyses on the occurrence of social problems and their determinants, as well as guidelines to reduce risks and reduce the sense of threat and insecurity in modern society. The document became the basis for the reflection on public debate on violence in international communities and psychological practice against violence in both interpersonal and wider social relations. The combination of the individual and the social perspective gives a chance to criticise and rethink the guidelines suggested by the Committee from the point of view of such issues as community responsibility, individual rights and the current state in psychological and social care against violence. Special attention was paid to ten recommendations.

Introduction: the article deals with the methodological problem of the meaning of the goal of civil law research. The author analyzes the dissertation abstracts from the point of view of goal setting, which were completed in different periods of the development of Russian civil law science, identifies the qualitative characteristics of the stages, and proves the connection of the achieved results with the researcher’s knowledge of the methodological methods of goal setting. Purpose: to show the value of goal setting in scientific research in general and in civil research in particular; to consider the relationship of goal setting with the achievement of specific scientific results on the examples of dissertations defended in the specialty 12.00.03; to justify the need to set as goals the fundamental problems associated with the identification of patterns of development of relations that are part of the subject of civil law regulation and the creation of effective mechanisms that mediate them. Methods: system-structural, system-functional, generalization, abstraction, analogy, logical, statistical, classification, legal modeling, comparative legal, forecasting, formal legal, historical. Results: civil methodology should take into account the importance of the goal in the organization of scientific work. Only a competent possession of goal setting skills can ultimately ensure the creation of scientifically-based mechanisms for effective impact of civil law norms on regulated social relations. Conclusions: 1) any science, including the science of civil law, is not only designed to study and describe existing problems, including legislative, doctrinal, and law enforcement. Research, in order to meet the criterion of scientific character, must attempt to identify the laws of development, both regulated relations and mechanisms that mediate them; 2) the significance of the goal in the development of science has been proven by outstanding philosophers. In addition, the very definition of science indicates that goal setting is one of its essential characteristics; 3) the analysis of the author’s abstracts of leading Russian tsivilists showed how the skilful setting of research goals helped to achieve them consistently, as well as to create a high-quality categorical apparatus of civil law science; 4) the analysis of modern dissertations showed that not all young researchers see the value of goal-setting and this methodological disadvantage is important for the author to eliminate.

The article presents an analysis of the social phenomenon of vegetarianism from a historical, medical and sociological point of view. The purpose of this article is to analyze secondary data from cross-cultural studies in Russia and the UK. The main task was to highlight the main features of the attitude towards vegetarianism in the framework of the "Western" mentality and to study the perception of the phenomenon of vegetarianism in the minds of Russians, to compare the data obtained. To accomplish the set tasks, the analysis of theoretical material on the topic of vegetarianism as a phenomenon of modern society, its main types, specificity as a system of sociocultural patterns was carried out. In the course of an empirical analysis of intercountry trends in the field of attitudes towards vegetarianism, the following points were recorded using the example of two countries. The proportion of people on a vegetarian or vegan diet is higher in the UK. However, both in Russia and in the UK, 10–15% of respondents were found who could try this type of diet and stick to it for about a month. In Russia, personal well-being and health is more often the argument in favor of a vegetarian diet, while in the UK people are more interested in protecting the environment.

This chapter examines the implications for Irish Catholicism that the ‘Yes’ vote in the May 2015 referendum on same-sex marriage may have for the social and cultural position of the Catholic church in contemporary Ireland and in the future. His analysis channels the thinking of Ferdinand Tönnies, an early German sociologist and a contemporary of Durkheim and Weber, who used the German words ‘Gemeinschaft’ and ‘Gesellschaft’ to distinguish between two fundamentally different structural paradigms for social relations. O’Brien sees marriage as a core ideological signifier of ideological hegemony, and using the fantasy fiction of Terry Pratchett’s satire on religion entitled Small Gods as a lens, he looks at the referendum as a significant turning point in the definition of marriage, and by extension, in the transformation Irish society from the organic community of the Gemeinschaft, to the more postmodern and pluralist notion of the Gesellschaft.

Abstract At which level of analysis (descriptivist, empirical, epistemological), and along which perspective (sociological, linguistical, communicative), should we locate the distinctive criteria for the definition of translation? In other words, what are the necessary and sufficient conditions which constitute the object « translation,» exclusively this object and not any other object? This is the general question of this article. It will be developped in two steps. First, we shall try to demonstrate that the perspective adopted by translatology, in defining translation by its semantical and fonctional equivalence relation with a source text, is congenetically determined by the discursive exclusion of the theorisation of that which is the very condition of possibility of each translation: the disrupture and distancing by which humans structure their social relation. Consequently, it is by the critique of communication theory, where a large part of translatology has drawn its scientific foundations, that we can deliver sound arguments for the assessing of translation in the structure of social relations. A second step consists in the formulation of a working hypothesis: if translation may be caused by the social dialectics of distancing and negociation of meaning, it is not sufficiently specified by this logic. It could be hypothesized that translation finds its specificity in the hybridity of the linguistic referential relation it instaures with the mute universe to be conceptualized on the one hand, and with the source text to be reformulated on the other.

The article examines modern problems of teaching philosophy in high school. The attention is paid on issues such as reducing the demand for philosophical knowledge in students, especially students of technical specialties. This problem is considered in the context of social-cultural transformations of modern society and its priorities – innovative development, information of the social relations, the relevance of technological skills and applied knowledge among the younger generation. We studied the relation of philosophical knowledge to the needs and value orientations of the modern generation. The authors study the main myths of social consciousness of generation Y: lazy, need to serve instantly the needs, malevolence toward others, selfishness and spoiled. For the analysis of values of modern generation there was used the concept of an American coach-coach B. Hobart about the generation Y. There are the results of regional studies on issues of vital resources of modern man. There is updated the main problem of the young generation – the problem of shortage of vital resources, which are expressed in three dimensions: lack of knowledge, lack of communication and lack of time. The authors analyze the core values of generation Y – the resource knowledge and the resource of freedom of personal choice. Taking into account the transformation of the needs of the students they describe technology lectures on philosophy. They present such contemporary methods of training as brainstorming, method and method criteria. There is an example of the structure and key concepts of the lecture to University students on the topic “Consciousness as a philosophical category”. As necessary components of philosophy education, the authors today highlight the practical orientation, the technological component of practical training, as well as the increasing demands for the preparation of the contemporary teacher in philosophy.

The article deals with characteristics of urban public spaces, their role in the global transformation of the social relations system is determined. The ambiguity of assessing the impact of globalization on modern cities is due to the theoretical and methodological problems of modern sociological urbanism. There is no single approach among scientists to defining the concept of urban public space, which determines the relevance of the study of its interpretation and definition of essential properties. Public spaces are considered as a connecting element between the system and social levels of urban research, which correspond to the levels of integration identified by the modern sociologist E. Giddens. The article analyzes classical and modern approaches to the study of public space, there is reveals the course of evolution of sociological thought in relation to the formation of differentiation of types of spaces within cities. Based on the analysis of the works of modern sociologists and urbanists, such key features of public spaces as openness, socio-political neutrality, and symbolism were identified. Global processes and contradictions lead to an aggravation of the problem of the presence of the category of “Others” within public urban spaces, which are representatives of various segments of the population, with a variety of claims and interests. One of the consequences of the intensive development of digital technologies is a possible situation of “competition for the citizen” between traditional public spaces and online services. Assumptions are made about future transformations of social relations within public spaces as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Abstract In a world where social needs surpass the effective resources meant to meet them, in a world where social change might be triggered by false expectations, scientists have joined forces with the private and public actors in order to exploit the full potentiality encountered at the regional levels. If we make a comparison between the social levels and the regional levels we might find astonishing similarities between a reference network and a cluster because they are both networks. The similarity is relevant from the behavioural point of view because any change in the society, be it at the social, economic, cultural, political, natural level is ignited by the human factor. Territorial capital, the innovative notion that reunites the productive assets found at the level of a territory, has been placed in the light of the current research given its potential in indicating economic growth and competitive advantage at the level of a territory. Being essentially a conceptual paper, this article extends the literature by offering a theoretical perspective on the terminology needed to understand territorial capital, to discover the possibilities of creating shared value process at different regional levels and, eventually, to analyse the capitalization concept, considering it an efficiency and social change generating tool in the regional economy. This paper is intended to bring a different, original, perspective at the theoretical level through the way in which the three core concepts are analysed in a common frame. Using the qualitative research methodology and the investigation of literature as a core research method, the conclusion reached was that the above mentioned concepts are interlinked conceptually. As far as the applicability of their relationship is concerned, this paper sets just the beginning of an in-depth research of these relevant fields of study.
