In Islam there is an element of Sufism which is a very significant part of the existence of transformative Islam. From this transformative Islam the term transformative Sufism emerged. The transformative Sufism process will begin and center on marifah and tauhid. In the context of transformative Sufism, understanding of haqîqah starting from all the realities that bring people to the level of maahrifah must be realized / contextualized into the social-community context. Transformative Sufism is commonly found in Sufism assemblies in Indonesia, one of which is in the Maiyahan Mbah Nun Majlis (Ainun Nadjib) in Jogjakarta Province and Majlis Zikir Manakib Sheikh Abdul Qodir Al-Jailani KH. Ahmad Muzakki Syah in Jember Regency. These majlis events are interspersed with the planting of values and the development of Islamic teachings and nationalities, so that finally the event in this assembly can be beneficial for changes for the community, especially the istiqamah pilgrims who attend this majlis. Both of these assemblies are based on Ahlussunnah Wal Jamaah Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). As is known, through the direction and guidance of KH. Hasyim Asy'ari and strengthened again by KH. Ahmad Siddiq and KH. Abdurrahman Wahid, NU institutionally acknowledged and established the Pancasila values as the final basis for the Indonesian nation.

Abstract: This article looks at the power actors and the political elites, who always have a position, strategic and nominations in the course of the nation’s history, which often have the power to direct and designing the history of the nation. The emergence of a modernist discourse on Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) is very concerning. NU regarded as a political organization has no significant role to play down organizing political change and the substitution of elite political power actors directly. Because the domain of thinking than often become conservative, countrified, superstitious, think old-fashioned, opportunistic chameleon, inconsistent, corrupt, cultured syncretic and other. Internally, NU as experienced a ‘stagnation of thought’. At the same time, it has not yet found a vision regarding the role and contribution of NU to Indonesia in the global context. Nu as an organization that has abundant millennial generations, certainly has a very strategic role in the effort to create a golden Indonesia 2045. Efforts are needed to explore things in the tradition that can support transformation. NU must be able to concentrate itself on taking care of people's problems in the social, community, education, health, empowerment, economic, religious, politics, and so on, which may be more fundamental for the Indonesian people.

In this article, I explore how the social contract of schooling and the three functions of schooling (Noguera 2003)—to sort, to socialize, and to control— impact and constrain the freedom and agency of a group of young Black and Latinx men in one suburban school district that was experiencing sociodemographic shifts in the Northeastern United States. I use qualitative data to frame how the young men experience schooling, and I show how the local community context facilitates the institutionalization of discriminatory sorting processes and racially prejudiced norms. I also show how the young men are excessively controlled and monitored via zero tolerance disciplinary practices, which effectively constrains their humanity and capacity to freely exist in their school and which inadvertently strengthens the connective tissue between schools and prisons.

Abstract Since 2018, climate mobilizations have been shaping political life in Europe. Young people are at the heart of this mobilization, both because of their massive nationwide presence in intergenerational demonstrations, but also because of their own modes of action, such as the climate strikes that have been emerging since January 2019. Within these mobilizations, forms of radicalism are expressed through an important support for civil disobedience, such as blocking actions, as well as support – for a significant part of protestors – for material damage. This paper analyzes the new forms of youth radicalism in their link to the social determinations of the awareness of the climate catastrophe. Based on a demonstration survey concerning three French cities for the strike of March 15, 2019, and in Paris for the strike of September 20th, which collected more than 1,800 questionnaires, this paper sets out to show the sociological profiles of radical individuals, which distinguish themselves by significant cultural capital and left-wing familial political socialization. The exploitation of the data collected shows that these new forms of radicalism are conditioned by an awareness of the climate emergency, deeply linked to family legacies and specific academic curricula. The radicalization of inherited dispositions leads these individuals to go beyond the legality/illegality framework, and to favor a debate on the effectiveness of the means of action, in which the link with conventional democratic participation is constantly questioned.

This article is guided by several premises. First, community coalitions fit with a social ecology perspective of health promotion because they work with multiple domains and promote community change. Second, the community context affects the functioning of coalitions. Third, key leaders are an important part of the social fabric of a community and influence the social ecology of a community; therefore a coalition should include key leaders and influence them and their organizations. The purpose of this article is to advance an understanding of the social ecology of coalitions by describing concepts, variables and results from two national studies and by providing anecdotal evidence and a measure of key leaders from our own work. After briefly defining and describing community coalitions, we: (1) review literature on contextual variables and community coalitions, (2) provide examples of contextual variables influencing community coalition development, and (3) discuss the relationship of key leaders in multiple domains and community coalitions. The article concludes with a discussion of the need for a framework of contextual variables and a promising next step.

On the occasion of 100 years of existence and activity of Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna, one may sum up the contribution of the Faculty of Theology which has existed as part of the uni- versity for 20 years. This contribution has concerned the research and teaching arenas combined with a commitment for the social community of the Wielkopolska province. What is specific of the faculty is its ability to work both on the scientific and didactic levels as well as on the church level, which requires considerable knowledge and time in order to competently combine the requirements of working at university with demands of the Catholic Church managed by the Second Vatican Council. The scientific and popular scientific initiatives in the widely understood biblical studies represent a valuable contribution to the celebration of 100 years of the Pozna university. Like other scientific disciplines, they can proudly make their own contribution to the development of sci- ence in our city, as well as the entire country. One can only hope that the present generation of sci- entists will take the baton passed to them in the relay race of generations, and will make their own contribution to the science thereby honouring Pozna as an important scientific centre in Poland.
