A novel topology circuit of active compensation was discussed to be used to manage negative sequence caused by locomotive load in electrified railway. The main circuit used a three-phase two-leg compensator as active elements of shunt hybrid active compensator topology. The number of switch device in this topology was reduced by comparing with three-phase full-bridge active inverter and the cost was lower. The simulation model was developed with SIMULINK. The simulating results indicates that the shunt hybrid active compensator can restrain the problem of negative sequence which generated by locomotive load, and reduces the effect of reactive power, negative sequence, improves electric energy quality and verifies the correctness of the proposed structure and control method.

Along with the exaltation of people to the electric energy quality requirements, the importance of compensating the reactive power is valued by people. The offset device of various kinds emerges with the tide of time. SVG plays an important part in the reactive compensating by the advantage of its quality. This text described the development, radical principle and control method of SVG and still introduced the limits, advantages and some improvement measures at the same time. Finally carry on analysis to the development tendency and lay foundation for the search of SVG technique.

Greek yogurt production needs a straining process that takes 10 hours or more. This paper proposes automation and control method for the centrifugation system to speed up the process time and to optimize the accuracy of quantity of whey drainage. Using system identification, the estimated mathematical model of straining process has been developed based on the traditional process of straining the yogurt. Then, the simulation and control design optimization has been carried out by using the estimated mathematical model. Based on the simulation results using whey mass controller, motor speed controller, and the combination of whey mass and motor speed controller, the controller that used are PID controller and fuzzy logic controller. The fastest controller is a PID controller as motor speed controller and fuzzy logic controller as whey mass controller that can speed up the production time and optimize the accuracy of quantity of whey drainage.

In the process of power system development planning necessary to have a forecast of electricity demand in the future. The results obtained estimates can be considered for policymakers to formulate measures to be taken for the future. It aims to achieve optimization in the process of supplying electrical energy. To optimize the energy supply of electricity in the province of West Sumatra required an estimation of electrical energy. In this study, estimation methods used are fuzzy logic. Estimates carried out long term, ie until 2018. Estimated long-term electric energy demand is generally based on past statistics and analysis based on energy consumption characteristics ago. Such characteristics are usually influenced by several factors, such as population, number of electricity customers, electrification ratio, and so forth. The fuzzy logic method uses historical data / actual accumulated in several time periods, namely from 2000 to 2008. Results estimated by using fuzzy logic shows that the electrical energy needs in West Sumatra province in 2018 amounted to 3610 GWh. This value is not much different from the estimates made by PLN, which amounted to 3998.5 GWh. Error between the estimated value of fuzzy logic in 2018 and PLN was 5:48%.

Quality control becomes an important key for companies in suppressing the number of defective produced products. Six Sigma is a quality control method that aims to minimize defective products to the lowest point or achieve operational performance with a sigma value of 6 with only yielding 3.4 defective products of 1 million product. Stages of Six Sigma method starts from the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) stages that help the company in improving quality and continuous improvement. Based on the results of research on baby clothes products, data in March 2018 the percentage of defective products produced reached 1.4% exceeding 1% tolerance limit, with a Sigma value of 4.14 meaning a possible defect product of 4033.39 opportunities per million products. In the pareto diagram there were 5 types of CTQ (Critical to Quality) such as oblique obras, blobor screen printing, there is a fabric / head cloth code on the final product, hollow fabric / thin fabric fiber, and dirty cloth. The factors caused quality problems such as Manpower, Materials, Environtment, and Machine. Suggestion for consideration of company improvement was continuous improvement on every existing quality problem like in Manpower factor namely improving comprehension, awareness of employees in producing quality product and improve employee's accuracy, Strength Quality Control and give break time. Materials by making the method of cutting the fabric head, the Machine by scheduling machine maintenance and the provision of needle containers at each employees desk sewing and better environtment by installing exhaust fan and renovating the production room.

A quadrotor is a four-rotor aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing, hovering, forward flight, and having great maneuverability. Its platform can be made in a small size make it convenient for indoor applications as well as for outdoor uses. In model there are four input forces that are essentially the thrust provided by each propeller attached to each motor with a fixed angle. The quadrotor is basically considered an unstable system because of the aerodynamic effects; consequently, a close-loop control system is required to achieve stability and autonomy. Such system must enable the quadrotor to reach the desired attitude as fast as possible without any steady state error. In this paper, an optimal controller is designed based on a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control method to obtain stability in flying the quadrotor. The dynamic model of this vehicle will be also explained by using Euler-Newton method. The mechanical design was performed along with the design of the controlling algorithm. Matlab Simulink was used to test and analyze the performance of the proposed control strategy. The experimental results on the quadrotor demonstrated the effectiveness of the methodology used.

In various forms of movement of finger rehabilitation training, Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) of single degree of freedom (1 DOF) has outstanding application value. Taking classic flexion and extension movement for instance, this study collected the joint angle data of finger flexion and extension motion by experiments and confirmed that the joint motion of finger are not independent of each other but there is certain rule. This paper studies the finger joint movement rule from qualitative and quantitative aspects, and the conclusion can guide the design of the mechanism and control method of finger rehabilitation training robot.

Transmission, distribution, and micro-grid system operators are struggling with the increasing number of renewables and the changing nature of energy demand. This necessitates the use of prognostic methods based on ever shorter time series. This study depicted an attempt to develop an appropriate method by introducing a novel forecasting model based on the idea to use the Pareto fronts as a tool to select data in the forecasting process. The proposed model was implemented to forecast short-term electric energy demand in Poland using historical hourly demand values from Polish TSO. The study rather intended on implementing the range of different approaches—scenarios of Pareto fronts usage than on a complex evaluation of the obtained results. However, performance of proposed models was compared with a few benchmark forecasting models, including naïve approach, SARIMAX, kNN, and regression. For two scenarios, it has outperformed all other models by minimum 7.7%.
