Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) has shifted the educational landscape for the past year. Face-to-face interaction has become a distant memory. It signals the emergence of digital landscape with the dependency on online distance learning (ODL) application such as Google Meet, WebEx, Zoom, and Microsoft Team. The dependencies on this software raise the issue of the willingness and user behavioral intention to use such application. Therefore, this study investigated the roles of self-efficacy and domain knowledge on the user behavioral intention to use ODL. A quantitative research methodology was adopted; instrument was adopted from previous study before following rigorous testing, pretest, pilot study, and actual data collection. The findings were then analyze based on relationship or inferentil and descriptive analysis.

<p class="0abstract"><span lang="EN-US">The rise of novel coronavirus 2019 has shifted the roles of education industry. Face-to-face have become a distant memory; students and educators are now heavily relying on the digital communication. Application such as Google Meet, Webex, Webinar, Stream Yard, Zoom, and many more have become the new norm among educators and students. However, the sudden dependency on the digital technologies raises a question on the user intention to use this new digital technology. Therefore, the objective of this study is to determine the role of self-efficacy and domain knowledge towards user behavioral intention to use online distance learning. An instrument was developed by adopting to previous instruments and was analyze using Statistical Package for Social Science and SmartPLS for inferential analysis. Findings shows that the exogenous variables are capable to explained between 47.8% to 68.1% of the endogenous variables.</span></p>

This research focused on the potential of project-based learning and blended learning, which offer a distinctive cross-point in regard to building 21st-century skills in the classroom. Specifically, this research hypothesized that using the BPBL approach has an effect on perceived self-efficacy, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention of using BPBL, and students’ academic achievement. To achieve the research goal, we employed a questionnaire as the main data collection method and dispensed it to 80 students, all of whom use the BPBL approach. The findings were obtained via a quantitative research method, structural equation modeling (SEM). We found a significant relationship between the BPBL approach and perceived self-efficacy, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention of using BPBL, and students’ academic achievement. Therefore, we believe that the BPBL approach enhances students’ behavioral intention to use and academic achievement in a blended project-based learning approach and allows sharing knowledge, information, and discussions. Thus, it is recommended that students use the BPBL approach for educational purposes, and they should also be encouraged to do so through their learning at university level.

With the popularity of the health and wellness trend in recent years, smartphone fitness applications have become more and more popular. Thus, this study explored factors affecting the behavioral intention to use and the actual usage behavior of smartphone fitness apps from technical, health, and social perspectives by integrating the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). We examined whether perceived usefulness, perceived ease-of-use, social influence, self-efficacy, goal-setting, and self-monitoring predict usage behavior. Based on the survey responses of 1066 smartphone fitness apps users, we revealed that all of the variables, except for self-monitoring, significantly influence usage behavior, while behavioral intention acts as a total mediator between perceived usefulness, perceived ease-of-use and usage behavior. Drawing on the research findings, we suggest that influencing behavioral intention to use a fitness app can be an effective method to increase its adoption. Therefore, app developers need to pay attention to interventions that seek to enhance the usefulness of the app, provide professional counseling, as well as an opportunity for effortless goal setting features.

Abstract Background Recruitment of volunteers is a major challenge for clinical trials. There has been increasing development and use of Internet-based portals in recruitment for clinical research. There has been little research on researcher use and perceptions of these portals. Objectives This study evaluated researcher perceptions of use of Rally, an Internet-based portal for clinical trial volunteer recruitment. Methods A cross-sectional survey was developed and implemented to understand researcher perceptions. From theoretical models of information technology use, the survey adopted items in four domains: ease of use, usefulness, facilitating conditions, and self-efficacy. The dependent variable was researchers' behavioral intention to use Rally. The survey captured characteristics of researchers such as gender, age, and role. It was implemented using the REDCap survey tool. An email invitation followed by three reminders was sent to researchers. A hierarchical regression model was applied to assess predictors of behavioral intention. Results The survey response rate was 35.6% (152 surveys received from 427 contacted researchers). In the hierarchical regression model, facilitating conditions and self-efficacy predicted behavioral intention (F (4,94) = 6.478; p <0.001). The model explained 21.6% of the variance in behavioral intention (R-square change = 21.3%, p <0.001). Conclusion Facilitating conditions and self-efficacy predicted researchers' behavioral intention to use Rally for volunteer recruitment into clinical trials. Future research should document best practices and strategies for enhancing researcher use of online portals for volunteer recruitment.

The rapid development of technology requires universities to develop an integrated academic information system to support the education process. With the application of the information system, universities can provide better information services to students. The aim of this study is to examine the influence of self-efficacy and information quality on behavioral intention toward academic information system with perceived usefulness as an intervening variable. This study used survey questionnaire in collecting data from one higher institution - STIE Malangkuçeçwara(Malangkuçeçwara School of Economic). The population in this study is all students in the sixth semester. A questionnaire was administered to all 377 students, 311 were returned yielding a response rate 82.5%. This study has three significant findings. First, the direct effect of self-efficacy on behavioral intention to use academic information system (AIS) is significant. Second, the direct effect of information quality on behavioral intention to use AIS is significant. Third, The indirect effect of self-efficacy and information quality on behavioral intention to use AIS through perceived usefulness is not significant

Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan meluncurkan program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka yang salah satu kegiatannya adalah pertukaran pelajar. Namun adanya pandemik Covid-19 menyebabkan perkuliahan pada kegiatan pertukaran pelajar dilaksanakan secara jarak jauh (daring). Pembelajaran jarak jauh sering  menimbulkan masalah bagi mahasiswa seperti academic burnout, stres, dan kelelahan emosional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efikasi diri mahasiswa pada kegiatan pertukaran pelajar dalam pembelajaran daring. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menyebar kuesioner pada 20 mahasiswa dan wawancara pada 6 mahasiswa peserta kegiatan pertukaran pelajar di program studi PGSD UNS-UNY. Lima faktor untuk melihat efikasi diri dalam menyelesaikan pembelajaran daring; berinteraksi secara sosial dengan teman sekelas; menangani alat di CMS (Course Management System); berinteraksi dengan instruktur di pembelajaran daring; dan berinteraksi dengan teman sekelas untuk tujuan akademis (Shen et al., 2013). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat efikasi diri mahasiswa pertukaran pelajar pada masa pembelajaran jarak jauh dalam kategori tinggi dan cukup tinggi. Mahasiswa memiliki keyakinan atau kepercayaan diri yang baik untuk mengikuti program transfer kredit dan berada pada kriteria tinggi.   The Ministry of Education and Culture launched merdeka belajar kampus merdeka program which one of the activities is student exchange. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the lecture activities in the meant programs is carried out remotely (online). Distance learning often poses problems for students such as academic burnout, stress, emotional fatigue. This study aims to determine the level of self-efficacy of the students who took part in the exchange program which conducted online. The method used in this research is mixed between survey and interview. Questionnaire was given to twenty students of PGSD UNS-UNY who join the exchange program through google form and six of them were interviewed. The results showed that the level of self-efficacy of UNS-UNY exchange student during distance learning is in moderate and high categories. It means that students have good self-confidence and in high criteria to join the credit transfer program. Researchers recommend further research to deepen information.

World Health Organization declared the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 to be a pandemic on March 12, 2020. In response to that, Malaysia has announced movement control order effective on March 18, 2020, leading to the near-total closures of education center. University closures impact not only students, lecturers, and families, but have far-reaching economic and societal consequences. In response to that, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has introduced the use of online distance learning and open educational applications and platforms that lecturers can use to reach learners remotely and limit the disruption of education. Even though UiTM has already adopted the integrated face-to-face and online learning approach in the classroom since many years ago, however, the commencement of solely using online learning platform, in the absence of face-to-face meetings is challenging. In addition, it is also crucial to note that the previous study on the determinants of the intention and effective use of online distance learning is scarce. Thus, this study seeks to identify the significant relationship between the intention and the effective use of an ODL among the students. Findings from this study reveals that four out of five determinants (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition and intrinsic value) found to be significantly relationship with the behavioral intention of the students to use online distance learning. Behavioral intention also was found to be significant with use behavior. Although the intrinsic values (new determinants) has contributed to the theory, it is recommended that the same study will be carry out to the entire of education center, either public or private.   Keywords: Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Condition, Intrinsic Value, Behavior

This paper reports on an online distance learning course that emphasizes the improvement of the self-efficacy beliefs of in-service elementary school teachers in teaching biological concepts. The course utilizes digital educational content and Open Educational Resources (OERs) and focuses on the interaction, peer support, and peer teaching into an online learning environment. In the design framework of the course, we investigated the educational needs of teachers and took into consideration the findings of other studies. A total of 251 teachers were enrolled in the online distance learning course and 142 completed it. Quantitative and qualitative data was collected in November 2020 through the bio-STEBI-A instrument and the posts in the forums of the course. The quantitative results revealed an improvement in both subscales of bio-STEBI-A, which were also confirmed by the qualitative ones, that underline the course, thus contributing to the improvement of self-efficacy beliefs of in-service elementary school teachers in teaching biological concepts. Recommendations are made for future research.

The main purpose of this study is to develop a mediating effect understanding of self-efficacy on time management and students’ performance relationship in Malaysian online distance learning institutions. A model was developed and later tested by adopting the partial Least Square (PLS) procedure on data collected from a survey that yielded 210 usable questionnaires. The findings showed that time management enhanced self-efficacy in Malaysian online distance learning institutions. It was also revealed that self-efficacy partially mediates the relationship between time management and students’ performance. In future, more research needs to be carried out to explore the role of self-efficacy in Malaysian online distance learning institutions. It is important to do the study utilizing experimental design by capturing longitudinal data in Malaysian online distance learning institutions using robust measures. The findings imply that the relationship between self-efficacy and attrition rate may reside in self-efficacy’s influence on students’ performance, and that self-efficacy plays a crucial function within the Malaysian online distance learning institutions. This study uses Smartpls 2.0 and SPSS 18.0 to test the hypothesis and analyze respondents’ profile respectively.
