The population of the research was the second grade students of SMPN 5 Marioriawa in academic year 2015/2016 which consisted of two classes (56 students). The sample was drawn using cluster random technique. The number of students in the class was 28 students. The research instrument used was writing test. The data obtained through the test were analyzed quantitatively by using 21.0 version of SPSS program. Based on the data analysis, the research findings reveals that there is a significant differentce of the students’ writing skill after being taught by using SWELL method. It is proved by the data that had been processed through SPSS program. The result showed that the mean score of students in experimental group was greater than the mean score in control group (85.03>67.180, with t-test value is lower than the probability value (0.000<0.05). It indicates that there is a significant improvement of students’ writing ability after the treatment.  The writing skill of the second grade students of SMPN 5 Maroriawa can be improved significantly by using SWELL method with fairy tale videos. For the writing components that mostly affected by SWELL method. This study was to find out the effectiveness of I challenge game in teaching grammar. This research was quasi experimental design. The population of this study was the second grade students of SMPN 2 Kediri which consisted of four classes. Two classes were chosen as the samples, those were VIII B Class as experimental group consisted of twenty six students and VIII D Class as control group consisted twenty five students. They were chosen by using simple random sampling technique. Experimental group was treated by I Challenge Game and control group was treated by Grammar Draughts Game. The instrument that was used objective test informs of multiple choices. Then, the scores were analyzed by using statistical analysis. It showed the mean score of experimental group was 67,04 while the mean score control group was 52,54 and the value of t (t test) = 1,716 was higher than  (t table) = 1.677 at the significance level of 0,05% and the number of degree freedom (df) 49. It meant that alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accpeted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It could be calculated that I Challenge Game was effective in teaching grammar at the second grade students of SMPN 2 Kediri.

Aim: To investigate the effect of the CoRT(Cognitive Research Trust) program for the development of thinking skills on the achievement of the Jordanian English language learners. The length of the program did not exceed more than three months and a half, starting from the warming-up period in the first semester to the achievement test. Methods: The study sample consisted of (86) students from the seventh grade in Al Nahda Islamic Modern Private Schools, The First Directorate of Education in Zarqa District. The subjects were divided into four groups. Two experimental groups consisted of (34) male students who were taught two units in the curriculum (Aim High1) through the CoRT program. The other two control groups consisted of (34) male students who were taught the same content through the conventional strategy. Analysis of ANOVA was performed to test the statistical significance of the differences between the experimental group who was taught through the CoRT and the control group who was taught through the conventional method. Result: It revealed that there was a statistical significant difference at the level (α =0.05) in the mean scores between the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group. Interestingly, the current study adopted the experimental design. Conclusion: There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the subjects of the experimental groups who studied through the CoRT as a new instructional model and the control group who studied through the conventional method in favor of the experimental groups.
