The main approaches to the definition of the category “social capital” in the historical context are considered. Elements of social capital (social norms, social network, trust) have been defined as well as its main functions have been identified, which were formed during the evolution of this concept. The influence of the hybrid war on the formation of social capital in the context of public trust in business structures in Ukraine is determined. The role of social networks as a source of creation, accumulation and restoration of social capital has been investigated. The importance of the existence of network links that affect the socialization of society and the expansion of its communicative borders in the conditions of the development of modern socio-economic relations has been noted.

SOCIAL CAPITAL AND SOLIDARITY TOURISM: THE DISCOHESION OF COHESION IN THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT POLICY FOR SERRO Abstract: For the creators of the Programa Turismo Solidário – PTS (Solidarity Tourism Program), cooperation is the master key of sustainable development. It results from a kind of social capital that consists of bonds of mutual trust among the actors involved in the collective action. Therefore, the complete fulfillment of the program's objectives demanded a sufficient supply of social capital circulating through the social networks of the localities in the Serro area included in the PTS. This paper aims to analyze the connections between the relational perspective of social capital and the problem of collective action in this sociospatial context in Minas Gerais. Resorting to the theoretical and methodological framework of Social Network Resorting to the theoretical and methodological framework of Social Network Analysis in order to clarify these connections allowed us to see that the formulation of PTS and how it was implemented in São Gonçalo do Rio das Pedras, Milho Verde e Capivari contributed to the lack of cohesion in the tourism social networks and, as a result, the failure of PTS. Currently, society lives in the conditions of continuous expansion of the communication space. This is manifested in the transformation of old and the emergence of new types of interaction of individuals in the economic, political, social, spiritual spheres of society. The study of social networks is an actively developing area in theoretical sociology, and the concept of social networks is the most natural in the description and construction of a social structure. In a broad sense, a social network is understood as many points (members of a social system), to a greater or lesser extent, related to each other. In this article we will illustrate the main stages of the evolution of the concept of “social network” in the works of foreign researchers. Let's take a closer look at foreign theoretic approaches to the study of social networks as a structural element of social capital. In the conclusion of our analysis, we will list the main characteristic features of a social network, on the basis of which we will formulate a generalized definition of this phenomenon.

Social networks influence various aspects of both material life and spiritual life. The social relationships are clearly demonstrated in the labour market. Many domestic and international researches show that social network is an effective unofficial channel for job search. The study of the 2015 and 2016 Sociology graduates from Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) University of Social Sciences and Humanities provides a profound understanding of the role of social networks in the graduates’ job search and their professional development.  Keywords Social network, social capital, job, graduates References 1. What is the role of social networks in driving persistent differences between races and genders in education and labor market outcomes? What is the role of homophily in such differences? Why is such homophily seen even if it ends up with negative consequences in terms of labor markets? This chapter discusses social network analysis from the perspective of economics. The chapter is organized around the theme of externalities: the effects that one’s behavior has on others’ welfare. Externalities underlie the interdependencies that make networks interesting to social scientists. This chapter discusses network formation, as well as interactions between people’s behaviors within a given network, and the implications in a variety of settings. Finally, the chapter highlights some empirical challenges inherent in the statistical analysis of network-based data.

The problems of ensuring effective management and forming competitiveness of industrial enter-prises are relevant regardless of the conditions for conducting business activities. The fact is that the competitiveness of business structures in modern conditions is not ensured by simply owning factors of production (labor, capital, land), and even entrepreneurial talent is not currently a source of obtaining stable or exclusive competitive advantages. In order to obtain sustainable or exclusive competitive advantages that constitute strategic competitiveness, the business structure needs to have an intellectual (educational) component of development, including the production and implementation of innovations, as well as readiness for changes. Subject of research. On the basis of innovative foresight, ensuring the competitiveness of business structures of the production industry is a set of organizational, managerial and economic relations that arise in the process of formation. Purpose and objectives of the study. Development of proposals to improve the competitiveness of business structures based on innovative foresight. A number of theoretical, methodological and practical issues related to the formation and implementation of a strategy for managing the innovative development of entrepreneurial structures based on innovative foresight remain insufficiently studied and require further development of rules for its creation and functioning. At the same time, despite a detailed description of the problems of strategic management of innovative deve-lopment of business structures, the research of foreign scientists was carried out in relation to the relatively stable conditions of the economy of developed countries, the practical application of the mechanisms proposed by them in the conditions of the Kazakh economy requires mandatory revision, taking into account the specifics of the modern economy and industry.

AbstractBackgroundSocial connections can lead to contagion of healthy behaviors. Successful treatment of patients with opioid use disorder, as well as recovery of their communities from the opioid epidemic, may lay in rebuilding social networks. Strong social networks of support can reinforce the benefits of medication treatments that are the current standard of care and the most effective tool physicians have to fight the opioid epidemic.MethodsWe conducted a systematic review of electronic research databases, specialist journals and grey literature up to August 2020 to identify experimental and observational studies of social network support in patient populations receiving medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD). We place the studies into a conceptual framework of dynamic social networks, examining the role of networks before MOUD treatment is initiated, during the treatment, and in the long-term following the treatment. We analyze the results across three sources of social network support: partner relationships, family, and peer networks. We also consider the impact of negative social connections.ResultsOf 5193 articles screened, 46 studies were identified as meeting inclusion criteria (12 were experimental and 34 were observational). 39 studies indicated that social network support, or lack thereof, had a statistically significant relationship with improved MOUD treatment outcomes. We find the strongest support for the positive impact of family and partner relationships when integrated into treatment attempts. We also identify strong evidence for a negative impact of maintaining contacts with the drug-using network on treatment outcomes.ConclusionsSocial networks significantly shape effectiveness of opioid use disorder treatments. While negative social ties reinforce addiction, positive social support networks can amplify the benefits of medication treatments. Targeted interventions to reconstruct social networks can be designed as a part of medication treatment with their effects evaluated in improving patients’ odds of recovery from opioid use disorder and reversing the rising trend in opioid deaths.
