In view of Western interest in learning from Japan, present knowledge of, and British attitudes to, the Japanese economy are critically reviewed through an analysis of press reports in 1977 and 1978. A variety of business people, financial Journalists, politicians and other interested parties in Britain, Japan, North America and Europe are quoted on issues such as the relative inferiority/superiority between EEC countries and Japan, attitudes and practices regarding marketing, the 'mysteriousness', cunning and determination of Japanese businessmen, and on differences between Japanese trade relations with the USA, and with EEC countries. Some recommendations are made on ways in which exchange of ideas and goods could be promoted, to mutual benefit of EEC countries and Japan.In die lig van Westerse belangstelling om meer van Japan te leer, word 'n kritiese oorsig gegee van huidige kennis van, en Britse houdings teenoor, die Japannese ekonomie, deur 'n ontleding van verslae in die Britse pers in 1977 en 1978. In the 21st century, a breakthrough in the global economy has come to transition to a new stage in the development of high technologies in the economy, social environment and strengthening the ties between countries along the path to new progress and cooperation. Vietnam has already emerged from the state of a medium-developed economy and gained experience for the transition to a highly developed economy, using the best practices and knowledge of the USA, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China. Vietnam’s interaction with Russia has grown, using its experience in introducing into the economy and life new methods of using and transmitting information of universal scale and significance. For Vietnam, the transition to a new economic model will provide foreign direct investment, especially from highly developed countries. Tasks . Explore the factors and conditions of Vietnam's transition to a new economic model. Methodology. The methods of scientific knowledge of the main features and characteristics of the transition to a new high-tech model in the XXI century are used. Results. The high volume of Vietnam’s trade relations with highly developed countries of the world is proved, as one of the decisive factors for accumulating the resources for the transition to a new model, FDI received in Vietnam in the first two decades of the 21st century, its volume structure, investing countries, FDI, etc. are considered. Conclusions. Vietnam was able in a short historical time, passing the warriors and American aggression to create a solid foundation for the transition to a highly developed country in Southeast Asia. Vietnam received considerable assistance during this transition period from Russia.

The share of developing countries in the world trade is increasing every day. According to an assessment made by the World Trade Organization (WTO), a share of developing countries in the world export is expected to rise by 8.5% in the years ahead. Turkey's share in the world trade is around 1%, and it is expected to increase up to 1.5% by 2023.Turkey is ranked 22nd in the world export and 15th in the world import of goods. Turkey's current problems are account and trade deficits. New markets will potentially offer an opportunity to overcome both account and trade deficits. The aim of this chapter is to define new export markets for Turkey. According to the survey results, Turkey may potentially increase its export to the USA. Apart from the USA, Germany and Russia will continue to serve as export markets for Turkey in the years ahead. Therefore, Turkish companies will maintain their existing trade relations with these countries.

The article analyzes the causes of the trade war between the USA and China, in particular, dwells on the problems of further globalization of the world economic relations, multidirectional vectors of the two states' development in recent decades, as well as disproportion in the trade balance. The paper presents statistical assessment of the trade war results, expressed in structural changes of trade relations between the US and China, as well as dynamics of their imports from the EAEU countries. Based on statistical data, the conclusion is made on economic prospects of the EAEU to compensate certain product groups that are falling out during the trade war in the Chinese and American markets, and general recommendations are given on building the EAEU's foreign economic strategy, taking into account the current global changes

India and the USA are having an unprecedented warmness in their relationship presently. After all the hindrances and hiccups, the two largest Democracies are finally engaged optimally in economic and trade activities. Simultaneously, India is also developing fruitful relationship with East Asian countries and the present government has evolved the Indian foreign policy from “Look East “to “Act East”. However, this Act east policy need not to be seen in isolation and it has to be seen as a strategic alliance between India, USA, and east Asian countries to neutralize the strategically and economic advancement of China as the global economic superpower. This closeness is unprecedented, however it should not be subjected to the sovereignty of the Indian foreign policy and India should remain Non-aligned as it has reaped humongous benefits by being non-partisan. This paper is aimed to highlight the India’s Act East policy and trade relations between the countries. So it is needed to analyze the present trend in the Indian trade with East Indian countries.

The article substantiates the expediency of trade facilitation between Ukraine and the countries of North America. This is a recent problem for Ukraine as the country affected by geopolitical risks. One of the solutions, needed in order to materialize the national economic interests and to defend the state sovereignty, is to enhance partnership with the countries of North America which are acknowledged leaders of the global economy. The purpose of this article is to justify recommendations related to development and implementation of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of North America. The main issue is the development of cooperation under the protective trade policy of the USA and Canada. Using the GTAP model, the article provides several scenarios of trade and economic cooperation with the purpose of choosing the best one. The article also corroborates and offers focus areas and tools to improve trade relations between the countries.

The article discusses the relevance of liberalization of trade relations, which has a positive impact on the change in trade turnover; the approaches to understanding the category of «trade wars» are defined; a list of forms of trade wars as well as a brief characterization of them is provided. The methods of conducting offensive and defensive trade wars are studied. Attention is accorded to the generalized and formalized consequences of the conduct of trade wars on the example of the functioning of enterprises in the agricultural industry sector of Ukraine, the definition of which aims at eliminating the problems identified in agricultural enterprises, along with development of the corresponding preventive measures. The specifics of conduct of trade wars between Ukraine, Russia, the USA, China and the EU are considered. It is determined that the tendencies in the development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector are directly dependent on global economic trends. The dynamics of commodity structure of exports of agricultural and food products of Ukraine is studied, on the basis of which it is possible to draw conclusions about benefits and losses for the country. The weaknesses in Ukraine’s export-import policy are identified, including the lack of personnel in agriculture, the problems of logistics and the attraction of additional investment flows, on the basis of which vectors of optimal development of the agricultural industry of Ukraine are formed. The publication lists the growth factors of the agricultural sector of Ukraine, in particular: enhancing the productivity and production in general; increasing the export volumes; orientation of the agricultural producers’ activities towards the niches of the industry; active development of all opportunities for the agricultural production, which is called «Ukrainian organic». The researched motives and policy of trade wars make it possible to offer a more effective apparatus to solve existing problems in the future.
