The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of parental involvement on pre-tertiary learners’ academic performance and development in some selected pre-tertiary schools in the Ada East District of Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The study adopted the sequential explanatory mixed method approach. That is, quantitative data were initially gathered through a 3-point Likert Scale response set structured questionnaire followed by a qualitative interview data. The study made use of fifty (50) respondents who were randomly and judgmentally sampled. Both questionnaire and interview guide were developed to collect data on two formulated research questions after which they were descriptively and thematically analysed respectively. The study revealed that learners’ academic development and performance move along with parents’ financial commitment and other socioeconomic related characteristics, parents’ level of training, education and other sociocultural related characteristics as well as parents’ relationship and communication with teachers, school community and the community outside. It was concluded therefore that both socioeconomic and sociocultural statuses of parents affect academic development and performance of learners in pre-tertiary schools to a large extent. Conclusion was also drawn on how parents’ relationship and communication with the school community, teachers and the community outside contribute to pre-tertiary school learners’ development and performance. The study strongly recommended full parental, community and stakeholders’ commitment in all academic related activities of learners.

The study examined the impact of leadership style on organizational performance in selected Banks, in Ibadan Nigeria. Purposive sampling technique was adopted in selecting a total of sixty (60) respondents as sample for the study, while relevant data was gathered with the aid of a structured questionnaire. One hypothesis was formulated and inferential statistical tool was used to analyze the data specifically Pearson product moment correlation was used to examine the relationship between leadership style dimensions and organizational performance, while Regression analysis was used to examine the significant effect of leadership style dimensions on followers and performance. Findings showed positive and negative correlation between leadership style dimensions and organizational performance. It was also found that leadership style dimensions jointly predict organizational performance, which counted for 23% variance of performance. The study concluded that transformational and democratic leadership style should be employed by the Banks’ management in order to wax stronger in a global competitive environment.

The concept of Training, Motivation, and Performance are the variables examined under the study to evaluate their effect in the Banking Sector. Productivity is one of the most significant elements that influence the organization's general performance, which compromises with different elements like training, attitude, motivation, and work environment for creativity contribute to the overall success of the employees. The current examination explores the impact of worker proficiency and efficiency of training and motivation. A questionnaire was administered to employees of the banking sector to identify the perceived level of training and motivation that emphasizes the overall performance. The three variables were estimated on a five-point Likert scale choice. Five were the most important (strongly agree), and one being the least important (strongly disagree). The sample of the questionnaire schedule was self-prepared. The study result shows that training and motivation positively impact the effectiveness and efficiency of the employees. Also, the study features the training and development procedure of the financial area that should utilize to proper workers and increment their performance and analyzes the needs of training and motivation in the workplace.

Advertising plays a vital role in a competitive era. With all major and minor players in the market trying to impress the „lord of the market‟, the consumer, advertising becomes an important tool among others in trying to persuade the consumer to buy a particular brand. Whether new or old, market leader or new entrant, everyone has an advertising strategy. However, over the years, doubts have been raised on the effectiveness of advertising and its impact on consumers. In a lot of cases, the impact of advertising has found to be negligible and also to an extent negative since, people believe that advertisements is all about half-truth and full lies. Also, the lack of legal enforcements meant that advertisers could exaggerate the features and performance of their offering to such an extent that people lost faith in message. However, there are some messages, which are still valued. This research paper intends to study the impact of advertisements on peoples‟ buying behavior. How much belief is there in the advertisements, what is the attitude towards advertisements and overall impact of advertisements? For this purpose a sample size of 500 respondents from across Gujarat was targeted and data was collected through a structured questionnaire.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to assess and examine the impact of physicians-nurses performance on patient perceptions on safety, trust and satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach – A cross-sectional study of 170 inpatients at 78 Chinese hospitals has been conducted. A structured questionnaire covering multiple constructs was used to collect the data. Methodology is described and results are discussed. Findings – Multivariate regression results show that despite the variations in education and training of physicians and nurses, trust is statistically significant in the models with doctors performance and nurses performance as dependent variables. One surprise result is that patient safety is not statistically significant in the regression model with NP as dependent variable. Practical implications – Doctor and nurses as well as other staff at any healthcare setting or ward should provide patients with high-quality and safe healthcare. Competences and performance of physicians and nurses are the primary source of patient safety. Social implications – The patient correlate their patients safety with doctors but not with nurses. On the other hand, they relate their satisfaction more to nurses performance than doctors performance.

While there is considerable research on employees’ satisfaction, motivation and performance, there is lack of conclusive evidence on these dimensions of organisational betterment. This puzzle becomes more complex for sales-force that deals with great stress in Indian life insurance context. This paper explores the underlying factors of satisfaction and motivation separately and predicts the impact of satisfaction on motivation, and the impact of motivation on performance. To justify these objectives empirically, a structured questionnaire has been executed to life-insurance sales-force with a sample size of 345 through stratified random sampling method. The data is analysed through explorative factor analysis, which is followed by regression analysis to test the prediction of motivation by satisfaction and then prediction of performance by motivation. The findings reveal that there is significant positive impact of sales-force satisfaction on their motivation, which ultimately has a significant positive impact on performance of sales-force in the life-insurance industry.

The paper provides new survey evidence on effects of concentrated ownership upon investment and performance in Russian industrial enterprises. Authors trace major changes in their ownership profile, assess pace of post-privatization redistribution of shareholdings and provide evidence on ownership concentration in the Russian industry. The major econometric findings are that the first largest shareholding is negatively associated with the firm’s investment and performance but surprisingly the second largest shareholding is positively associated with them. Moreover, these relationships do not depend on identity of majority shareholders. These results are consistent with the assumption that the entrenched controlling owners are engaged in extracting "control premium" but sizable shareholdings accumulated by other blockholders may put brakes on their expropriating behavior and thus be conductive for efficiency enhancing. The most interesting topic for further more detailed analysis is formation, stability and roles of coalitions of large blockholders in the corporate sector of post-socialist countries.

The State of Qatar has implemented several family policies in order to improve the wellbeing of Qatari families and ensure fair distribution of development benefits for both men and women. However, there is a linkage between female employment outside the home and instability in the marriages of Qatari families. This paper investigates the impact of female employment on marital stability, based on the results of primary data collected in Qatar, a questionnaire that consisted of several sections such as challenges in the workplace, supervisor, family and spouse relations, work motivation and performance. Of the 824 questionnaires that were returned, 807 were completed and valid for analysis. Regression analysis and an ANOVA test have been used to test the relationship between the variables. The results of the research have produced mixed findings about how wives’ employment increases marital instability and have yielded few significant differences on mean scores of discuss on work demands, insufficient time together, housework, financial matters, communication, relatives and rearing children. The results indicates that in general Qatar working women face several challenges in relation to their marital life as part of cultural and social constraints.

Abstract Agri-food systems include branching ramifications, which connect in the upstream the input suppliers with farmers, and downstream farmers, processors, retailers and consumers. In the last decades, at the level of the regions, food systems have undergone rapid transformation as a result of technological progress. The paper analyzes the changes made to the structure, behavior and performance of the agri-food system and the impact on farmers and consumers. Also, the role of agricultural research as a determinant factor of transformation of agri-food system is analyzed. The research objective is to develop technologies that cover the entire food chain (from farm to fork) and meet the specific requirements of consumers (from fork to farm) through scientific solutions in line with the principles of sustainable agriculture and ensuring the safety and food safety of the population.

Subject. The article discusses the momentum in finance. Objectives. The study reveals the impact of financial momentum as the unity of antipodes in the development of the national economy. Methods. The study is based on a systems approach and methods of descriptive statistics. Results. I discover the ultimate goal of globalization, i.e. the substantive simplification of national economies and strengthening of global economic ties. The goals determine the logic tendency of national economies for reducing the interest rate so as to gain the financial momentum and, consequently, fanning the crisis risk in the global financial system. The global financial system became the substance of global economic processes, which determined development opportunities of national economies. I reveal what countries have the high and low financial momentum. Conclusions and Relevance. Being the unity of antipodes in the modern economic development, financial momentum causes countries to lose their economic identity, making them just functions of the global financial system. The cyclical development model of national economies is replaced with the metron model that rests on fluctuating advanced economies with the low financial momentum at its bottom and emerging economies at its top. The findings crystallize the concept and new competencies for a person who decide on the determination and performance of financial regulation activities.
