This text derives from a doctoral research that investigates the aspects of education of the teacher trainer who instructs mathematics teachers. It has as main theoretical reference Gaston Pineau and Edgar Morin. The general goal of this work is to present moments of an investigative process that has as its area of study the formation of the teacher trainer who instructs mathematics teachers. The methodological assumptions include building blocks of eco-systemic and complex thoughts. The method adopted is relational between Oral History and Grounded Theory. The method unveils possible dimensions in the formation of the teacher trainer in a qualitative research. The results of this study can help to understand the nature of dimensions of the teacher trainers´ formation, which are based on their experiences with themselves, with others and with the environment.  Thus, it includes a new approach to temporalities in the formation of the teacher trainer, from the insertion of the principles of complex thoughts.

This paper develops an understanding of how shared leadership emerges in social network interactions. On the basis of a qualitative research design (grounded theory methodology – GTM) our study in two interorganizational networks offers insights into the interplay between structures, individuals, and the collective for the emergence of shared network leadership (SNL). The network-specific Gestalt of SNL appears as a pattern of collective and individual leadership activities unified under the roof of a highly developed learning conversation. More importantly, our findings support the idea that individual network leadership would not emerge without embeddedness in certain high-quality collective processes of relating and dialogue. Both theoretical and practical implications of this original network leadership perspective are discussed.

Molecular self-assembly is ubiquitous in nature and has emerged as a new approach to produce new materials in chemistry, engineering, nanotechnology, polymer science and materials. Molecular self-assembly has been attracting increasing interest from the scientific community in recent years due to its importance in understanding biology and a variety of diseases at the molecular level. In the last few years, considerable advances have been made in the use ofpeptides as building blocks to produce biological materials for wide range of applications, including fabricating novel supra-molecular structures and scaffolding for tissue repair. The study ofbiological self-assembly systems represents a significant advancement in molecular engineering and is a rapidly growing scientific and engineering field that crosses the boundaries ofexisting disciplines. Many self-assembling systems are rangefrom bi- andtri-block copolymers to DNA structures as well as simple and complex proteins andpeptides. The ultimate goal is to harness molecular self-assembly such that design andcontrol ofbottom-up processes is achieved thereby enabling exploitation of structures developed at the meso- and macro-scopic scale for the purposes oflife and non-life science applications. Such aspirations can be achievedthrough understanding thefundamental principles behind the selforganisation and self-synthesis processes exhibited by biological systems.

Purpose: This study explores a novel approach to compiling life-oriented moral textbooks for elementary schools in China, specifically focusing on Morality and Law. Design/Approach/Methods: Adopting Aristotle’s Poetics as its theoretical perspective, this study illustrates and analyzes the mimetic approach used in compiling the life-oriented moral education textbook, Morality and Law. Findings: The mimetic approach involves imitating children's real activities, thoughts, and feelings in textbooks. The mimetic approach to compiling life-oriented moral textbooks comprises three strategies: constructing children's life events as building blocks for textbook compilation, designing an intricate textual device exposing the wholeness of children's life actions, and designing inward learning activities leading to children's inner worlds. Originality/Value: From the perspective of Aristotle's Poetics, the approach to compilation in Morality and Law can be defined as mimetic. And the compilation activity in the life-oriented moral education textbook also can be described as a processes of mimesis. So this article presents a new approach to compile moral education textbooks, and  an innovative way to understand the nature of one compiling activity.

This paper attempts to illuminate some of the ethical dilemmas of a clinician/researcher interviewing women about a sensitive topic- their experience of having witnessed domestic violence in the family they grew up in, as part of a grounded theory study. Vignettes are presented to illustrate the self-reflexive process of the researcher and how she understood the effects of the interview process on her and the participants. The authors argue that doing in-depth qualitative research interviewing is an intervention in the life of the participants, especially, but not only, when the researchers are clinically-trained. However, this clinical training may also be an important resource from which to draw from, to act ethically and understand some of the complexity of the interaction between researcher and participants.

New approach to the preparation of steroids with connecting bridge, based on an O-carboxymethyloxime (CMO) structure, and with terminal hydroxy group, is presented. 17-CMO derivatives of 3β-acetoxy- and 3β-methoxymethoxyandrost-5-en-17-one were condensed with α,ω-amino alcohols to give derivatives with a chain of seven to nine atoms. After THP-protection, these compounds were converted to 3-keto-4-ene derivatives. An alternative synthesis consisted in transformation of 17-CMO derivatives with bonded amino acids by reduction of the terminal carboxyl. The resulting compounds were designed as building blocks for the preparation of bis-haptens for sandwich immunoassays.

The pragmatist roots of constructivist grounded theory make it a useful method for pursuing critical qualitative inquiry. Pragmatism offers ways to think about critical qualitative inquiry; constructivist grounded theory offers strategies for doing it. Constructivist grounded theory fosters asking emergent critical questions throughout inquiry. This method also encourages (a) interrogating the taken-for-granted methodological individualism pervading much of qualitative research and (b) taking a deeply reflexive stance called methodological self-consciousness, which leads researchers to scrutinize their data, actions, and nascent analyses. The article outlines how to put constructivist grounded theory into practice and ends with where this practice could take us.

The aim of this article is to demonstrate how social media and grounded theory methods can be integrated to constitute a sound research methodology for qualitative researchers. This article conceptualizes three models for using social media for research. Using the observational model, the social media grounded theory (SMGT) methodology was developed. This article provides practical methodological guidance, in a step-by-step approach, to what is referred to as SMGT methodology, which can be applied by researchers. This article provides a unique contribution to qualitative research because no previous research has provided similar conceptual integration and development using social media and grounded theory.

Betriebsfamilien waren im 20. Jahrhundert weit verbreitet. Da kaum empirisches Material zur Funktion der Hausmutter existiert, sollte in einer qualitativen Studie untersucht werden, wie Mitglieder die Funktion der Hausmutter zwischen 1945 und 1995 erinnerten und wie gemeinschaftliches Leben in damaligen Betriebsfamilien möglich war. Methodisch orientierte sich das Vorgehen sowohl an dem Verfahren der Oral History und an den Ansätzen der Grounded Theory als auch an der sequenziellen Line-by-Line-Analysis. Aus den Befragungen der Gesamtstudie (n = 42) wurden für den vorliegenden Artikel die Interviews mit neun Hausmüttern verwendet. Fokussiert wurde die Frage, wie Hausmütter berufsbezogene Entwicklungen im Rückblick erlebten und wie diese auf die Funktion der Hausmutter Einfluss genommen haben. Als Ergebnis konnten drei Phasen definiert werden, welche die Hausmutter mit ihrer Funktion durchlief. Dieser Artikel beschreibt die dritte Phase «Aus der Funktion der Hausmutter ausscheiden – verlorene und enttäuschte Macht und Herrschaft». Hausmütter waren nicht nur Hauswirtschafterinnen, sondern auch Pflegende, die mit ihrer Stellung im Haus neben dem Hausvater das betriebsfamiliale Oberhaupt bildeten. Mit den Mitgliedern der «Familie» in einem Haus zu leben belastete Hausmütter, gleichzeitig konnten sie aber davon profitieren, weil sie über viele Freiheiten verfügten, was mit der Kernkategorie Macht und Herrschaft beschrieben werden konnte.

I would like to present the possibility of broadening the traditional methodological and technical skills of researcher and analyst, but also the intellectual capacity of the researcher associated with combining data, categorizing, linking categories, as well as the interpretation of the causes and consequences of the emergence of certain social phenomena. Some methodologies, methods, and research techniques are more conducive to creative conceptual and interpretive solutions. Therefore, I describe the serendipity phenomenon in such methodologies as grounded theory, ethnography, phenomenological research, and contemplative inquiry. The problem of intuition in qualitative research will be also described in the paper. There will be presented also some suggestions how to be creative in qualitative research. From the review of issues of creativity in qualitative research we can derive the following conclusions: Creativity in qualitative research depends on the strength of a priori conceptualization and stiffness of the adapted methods of research and analysis. If the methodology is more flexible (as the methodology of grounded theory), the researcher can get to phenomena that he/she has not realized and which are still scantily explored in his/her field of expertise. The phenomenological and contemplative approaches allow the use of the investigator’s feelings and experience as they appear in the studied phenomena, which usually does not take place in objectifying and positivistic research. The investigator may therefore consciously use these methodologies and approaches that foster creativity. The researchers can improve their skills in thinking and creative action by doing some methodical exercises (journal writing, writing poetry as a summary of the collected data, the use of art as representation of the phenomenon, the use of meditation, observation of the body feelings, humor, etc.).

The debate on insider/outsider positionality has raised issues about the methodological advantages and liabilities between the two, yet no clear account exists for what insider scholars can expect when they enter the field. First, I conceptualize how insider positionality can dually benefit and disadvantage the insider. Using a partial review of insider studies, including my study of my multigenerational Mexican American family, I also present a practical discussion on specific insider advantages and complications. In conclusion, I present a new approach to training novice insider scholars that will help them mediate between insider perspective and researcher position, an approach that promises greater rigor to insider research that will serve the goals of qualitative research for social justice in minority and indigenous communities.
